Hey so this is a late response but I’ll reply to this since no one else has haha, I am a bench jeweler and blacksmith and I can confirm that the idea of a solitaire ring is whenever a diamond is singularly mounted onto a ring or design. The stone in this video is a brilliant cut Round stone, a cushion cut is usually a more square stone with round over corners in appearance from the top. Hope this helps, God bless - Ian Z

By experiencing,,?,, or he may use a thin silver plate to do a quick test. Most goldsmiths do that, especially with unexpected measurements for handmade jewelry.

I can't seem to find anywhere a description on how to calculate from the diameter of the stone, to find the diameter of the compass. I know how to find circumference from diameter, but thats not what he has done in this video ..
