    This is one of the best setups one can have, far better than a flat or incline Bech; however, many gym owners just do not understand this. Commercial versions are available.

    I want a 3x3 weight stack version 90-93 inches high. You could also offer a seat attachment then for lat pulldown. I am surprised no one has thought of this. Who ever does it first will sell a ton of them. 80 inches high is just too limiting in cable travel and who the heck wants to sit on the floor to do lat pulldowns . Heck just offer the current one in 90-93 inch and I will get 2 for sure.

    Bought two of these (in the weight stack version) a couple weeks ago along with some lever arms for it and it has been an absolute game changer for my gym. It’s opened up a ton of options as is and with a little bit of ingenuity, I’ve been able to add even further diversity of options into my home gym. Worth every penny I paid for the two. Couldn’t be happier with them.
    If I had a complaint, it’d be that they’re based off the old 2.3”x2.3” posts instead of 3x3 like their new Hydra line. I don’t have a 3x3 rack currently but may invest in upgrading my 2x3 in the future. Doing so however won’t solve the problems I’m already facing with having to really debate as to which attachments I buy/keep for which rack styles. For example, sometimes depending on what I’m doing, having a dip bar at my cable towers would be super ideal and other times over on my rack. I can’t justify (or store) 2 different size dip bars though. And no offense to the older BOS racks, I have no intention of ever investing into that ecosystem. So when/if I upgrade my rack, I will continue to live in a world where simple things like J-cups simply aren’t universal within my own setup, which isn’t ideal.
    That said, given the benefit and diversity they’ve brought to my gym, I have no regrets whatsoever.

      So glad to hear that we have been able to serve you well! We hear ya, would a 3x3 version be something you really want to see? and would it be worth it to you to upgrade in the future if thats an option?

      @@BELLSOFSTEEL Given I'm in on 2 of the existing towers, if I'm being honest? Probably not worth at this point as the ROI on an upgrade of uprights and unifying my attachments is far far lower than what I got out of the initial purchase, even in a 2.3x2.3. Now, had one existed in the first place, I absolutely would have gone for the beefier setup, even if it still didn't match up with my existing rack simply because I have greater confidence in the longevity of 3x3 as a de facto industry standard.
      If there's something I truly appreciate about BOS, it's your guys seeming attitude toward innovation and product development. I'll be curious to see how things shake out 2, 3, 4 years from now for you guys with the existence of 2 different post form factors (and two different hole sizes in 3x3). I have a hard time believing you'll be able to sustain effectively 3 different form factors and serve them equally well, but happy to be proven wrong here.
      You guys do a great job in nailing a sweet spot in terms of innovation vs features vs pricing in your attachments, so I hope it's sustainable across each rack setup. There are already things I'm seeing on the Hydra line that I worry won't be coming to the older setups (sliding lever arms, seal row pad, come quickly to mind). Back to the cable towers, I love mine, but would have preferred that they had come out 3x3 out the gate. It's what the industry at large, both larger and smaller players, have settled into being the gold standard, and as much as I love your guys' innovation, it's unlikely that there will ever be unique/niche accessories that pop up for the 2.3x2.3 form factor like there is in 3x3.
      Love you guys though! I find myself waiting on the sidelines about a possible Hydra purchase until there's public info on the future 1" hardware 3x3 rack from you guys (along w/ what complement of attachments are available or in the pipeline). My 2x3 is over a decade and had well-built cheaper alternatives existed at the time like they do now, I would already own a 3x3 rack. :P

    For those asking and wondering, the universal bracket fits 12mm (0.472in) or smaller bolts. I have it attached to my rogue Monster lite upright, but was very disappointed that I couldn’t use 5/8in bolts. BoS just doesn’t say anywhere what types of bolts you need. I went to my hardware store with the bracket and found that 12mm bolts had the best fit. If attaching to 3x3in upright, get 12mm x110mm along with 12mm washers.
    Unless you’re using a lot of different sized flat washers, this wouldn’t fit with 1in hole uprights.

    Someone asked, and I’m curious now, will the cable be smooth with only one plate on one side?
    And what is the ratio, 2:1 ? If I place a 10lb plate on it - will I be pulling 10lbs? And how about the eccentric? Is that also 10lb resistance?

    • @The17thEditionGoober
      @The17thEditionGoober Рік тому

      I would not recommend only adding 1 plate to a side, it's a 2:1 pulley system, meaning if you add a 45 lbs plate each side to the you will only feel 45lbs of resistance.

    • @The17thEditionGoober
      @The17thEditionGoober Рік тому

      Also the resistance does not change depending of the movement, either it be eccentric concentric or isometric

    • @williamblack6197
      @williamblack6197 9 місяців тому

      Ive read different things - some say its fine, and others have said it needs to be balanced. I think the truth is in the middle. Like, could you get by with a 10 on one side and 5 on the other? Sure. 25/10, 35/25? Id think so. But I wouldnt do 45/0, 35/0 or maybe even 25/0...

      I own two in the weight stack version. They’re incredible, and even at the price point I paid for them (significantly more than the plate loaded versions), I think I got great value for money. My only qualms with them is around long term extensibility of the posts since they’re 2.3” x 2.3” and seemingly all the different accessories I see these days from the big manufacturers and smaller shops is coalescing around 3x3.
      Absent that, they’re incredible. Buttery smooth and quiet (though I have the aluminum wheels), no rock or sway at all even with the stack near maxed (mine is bolted to a rack, which itself is bolted to the ground), and really smooth action of the selectorizer / height adjustment thing. Not as slick as a dedicated functional trainer, but this was multiple thousands cheaper and takes up a tiny amount of real estate. Excellent value for dollar IMHO.
