I just started my collection. My first watch was a speedy (always dreamed of having one). I’ve done well in my life but I just never brought myself to spend any money on a watch. I did always wore the latest and greatest Apple Watches for years, but the curiosity struck, and well to make long story short… my journey began. I have two kids - and the idea of my children having an heirloom that their dad wore for years, without any fear; holding the sweat, tears, successes, failures, the experience on it. Watches were it. I just picked up this one (apparently they’re scarce) and I have to say, it gave me the same exact feeling as the first time I wore my speedy. Like this is it. This one is special. I’m noob here, no question, but man.. I felt it. What a wonderful piece. I even like the fact that Tudor kind of lost its way with weird designs back in the 90’s early 2000’s. I love the story, I love the risk they took with this piece, I love the outcome, I love wearing it. Monologue done.
Totally agree with everything you said. I've had mine for 4 month and I just love it. Perfect GADA watch, no other diver out there that wears like it. It's 100% a keeper!
A month ago I purchased my first Tudor, a Black Bay 36 with the blue dial, which I love. But now have a need for a BB54 in my collection. Great review and has made me want one even more now! 😉
The BB 36 was my gateway drug into Tudor - fantastic piece...6 Tudors later (bought & sold), I'm definitely gunning for the '54. Still have the BB '58 in Blue - it's a keeper!
Great vid on the 54 but honestly the Rolex looks small on your wrist while the Tudor looks the best. I have both 54 and 58 love them. But why wear on the right side???
Absolutely Awesome , without doubt this has got to be the greatest ever all time 2 watch duo combo ! Taking wrist size and finances into account this could be achievable for most , in the grand scheme of the luxury watch world.
Great video, like your stile. I bought a 54 two weeks ago after 3 years with three 58. The proportions in the 54 are just on point. And the patina that bordered me so much in the 58 here is not a problem. Thanks!
Bro. I had to sell my one watch collection-the batgirl- due to my job change. Im extremely sad. Do you think this would be a great consolation for an everyday peice?
Awesome! I love the simplicity of it, I love the price, I love the bracelet and the movement, and I gotta have one. Got the Ranger last year, and one year after I am still in love with it, its fantastic. Tudor rocks the vintage looking watches, and they are kings of simplicity mixed with very high quality. Thanks again man, you made me lust for the bb54..
Nice follow up review, I love my Tudor BB54 it's compact, thin and extremely well made it's also understated at times but also has a nice vintage appeal to it, it's a bad ass watch.
Excellent choice on the DJ, i have the same exact one! The blue fluted-motif 36 with fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet is by far the sexiest DJ in my opinion. It was my grail and my parents surprised me with it for my first father's day. Easily my favorite rolex in their whole catalog. I will say tho....the new guinness gmt master 2 is straight fire. Both on full gold and two tone. As for the 54, it's sure as hell a sleek piece. My only tudor is thr pro and I absolutely love it.
Good watch taste ✌🏻 I also own a BB54 and I'm on a wait list for a Rolex DJ 36 green mint dial. Like you said with these two watches you should be well appointed. I also like smaller watches with this classic look✌🏻
Thanks! It sounds like you have excellent taste too. The BB54 and Rolex DJ 36 with the green mint dial both sound like great additions to your collection. Classic and timeless style always wins! ✌🏻😊
I’ve been debating adding this to my collection. after years of messing with loads of brands, and getting rid of watches, my remaining two define that moment I’m in now - where I get it - submariner 126610, and the speedmaster with the hesalite (I actually have the sapphire sandwich too but that’s packed away). Only thing holding me back from getting the 54 is that I already have a submariner.
Great feedback! Appreciate it 🍻 Would love to see you do a comparison video between the BB54 and the latest 62MAS reissue, the $3,500 USD SJE093! Please!
I’m on the same way After collecting more than 60 watches, the BB54 look perfect for all occasion You don’t have to carefully like a vintage sub It’s perfect watch
I get you, these two make a perfect 2 watch collection. As a Tudor fan I rock the blue BB58 and the new BB36 in anthracite all the time, and I’m now pretty sure I am satisfied. For now 😂
Awesome two watch collection. They both look perfect on you, especially the 54. What’s your wrist size? 54 is pretty much my favorite watch right now, and I almost bought it a few times, but I think it will just wear to small on my 8” wrist. Really hope they release a Black Bay 58 or Give us the new upgraded 41 in a similar color way to this 54.
Awesome four month review. I’ve got mine since July and can confirm everything you said. It’s the best Tudor in my opinion. Can you do a update on your STOC? That would be awesome.
This is the watch that has me selling off most of my collection. Since I got the 54 on the first day it dropped I haven’t had the urge to wear any other watch. It’s also my gradation piece ti myself.
Cool, I like the ossification towards something that is in a more level realm. Have to collect my Spectre from its service next week Bb is on my mind though, either the ceramic or 54 with a rubber strap
Yo, great video. Do you still feel the same about the 54? I already own a DJ 36 like yours, but with a silver dial. I also own a Submariner 14060m, still, something about the smaller size of the 54 appeals to me. I have yet to try one on, but based on how comfortable my DJ is, I'm considering purchasing the 54. Do you still feel the same about the 54 today as you did when you originally published this video?
I’m just starting my luxury watch journey after a cheap watch journey bc business has been good. And Tudor ironically has been feeling like it could be my right-hand man watch. When I don’t wanna overkill my main watch- which would be the DJ36 wimbledon rolosaur
If JLC learns to make screw down crowns on their Polaris or Blancpain learns to make a tool diver in a wearable size that’s not limited then that could be a different story
❤🔥Price aside, if you wanted your next piece to be a Cartier Santos Large (Silver Dial) or Tudor BB 54, which 1 would you add first? Of course you will get both... eventually
I have the same feeling with this one. Waiting for my AD to call me on this. My first watch was Rolex OP 39 - 114300. Its the look at my wrist piece if you know what u looking at (only people who understand class spot it). The BB54 has a similar character imo.
It is one of my permanent collection among a Zenith El Primero 36000 vph, a Christopher Ward Bel Canto azzuro, an Omega Seamaster 300 and...an Atowak Tarantula red... Very different watches from "classic" to "futuristic"
I absolutely love the 54 and I know it is a tribute to the 1954 Tudor Sub but I really wish there were tick marks on the bezel from 0 to 15 like the BB41 Monochrome. That is literally the ONLY criticism I have of it. It's gorgeous.
I’ve decided on the BB54 but can’t decide on which strap, my local AD here in Montreal has both so I guess I’ll decide when I get there. Rubber looks more casual and being old and retired that’s probably the look I’ll go for. 🙏
The history the looks and its sooooo comfortable and pleasing to the eye its gota be imo the new king of the black bay range 😊i own the rubber strap version ive worn it everyday the past 2 weeks since i purchased it 😮and am loving it more each day ❤a soon to be classic beautiful timepiece.
💯👌🏻👌🏻….always tried to have more and more watches in the collection and looking for the grail….as you said -> too much money in the end….now: 2023 Daytona 116515LN and BB54…..more i don’t need….i hope 😉
Can’t agree more, for me, it is Cartier, Glashütte, and Tudor. Cartier is sophistication in looks. Glashütte is sophistication in works, and Tudor is day in day out no fuss no muss.
Absolutely, buying a watch should be about personal preference and what resonates with you. As for the Doxa Sub 200, I've heard good things about it, a lot of value for the money. Although i haven't had the chance to get hands on but I'll definitely check it out and let you know my thoughts after 👍
Nice, I would rather have the reality because it's a new piece better movement, absolutely solid. The vintage pieces will be a worry for me. I find the domed sapphire on my blue 58 protects the bezel insert.
How you summarised the watch journey at the end of the video is where I have arrived. Following just 18 months of horological hobbyism, understanding my needs, tastes and vales through experiencing numerous hypes and trying endless amounts of watches, this a my definition of a perfect everyday piece. Worn as a daily GADA, I would happily pair it with a beautiful leather strap for formal occasions and yes, even weddings. The vintage elements of case size and gilt hands with no date offers a symmetrical elegance that softens it's toolish DNA. I also have a Casio GW-5000U (another modernised re-issue) for casual, GMT travel or simply discretion as it wears surprisingly well. Those two pieces together are a killer combo for a lifetime pairing 😍
This is a great watch in every sense. But it’s crazy how the lume pip in the bezel is slightly misaligned in lots of the bb54s I see out there (mine included). Quality control not on point.
I was thinking maybe a Datejust would be the perfect watch to complement my BB58. It is a contemporary design classic, whereas the Blackbay is a vintage homage. I'm thinking the Datejust is a good watch to grow old with and then hand on to somebody. And I can be buried with my BB58. I don't really want more than one or two luxury watches in my collection because then it becomes a hassle to service and keep wound.
You have the perfect two watch collection in the BB54 and DJ36 - Tudor for everyday wear, the Rolex for dressing up. Cheers!
That's the dream right here!
It’s so good because the original vintage designs were perfect and the closer you get to them the better the watch will be
I just started my collection. My first watch was a speedy (always dreamed of having one). I’ve done well in my life but I just never brought myself to spend any money on a watch. I did always wore the latest and greatest Apple Watches for years, but the curiosity struck, and well to make long story short… my journey began. Totally agree with everything you said. I've had mine for 4 month and I just love it. Perfect GADA watch, no other diver out there that wears like it. It's 100% a keeper!
Absolutely!
It’s my one and only watch after a long journey. It has been my end game piece
I hear you 🙏
Same.
Ditto
Multiple Rolex’s over the last 5 years, finally found the watch I was looking for. Rolex should be making these early vintage style watches.
Game well played!
BB54 i never thought that i would buy any watch less than 40mm. this one got me. wears amazing. wonderful watch
I too use to think 40mm was the best sized diver.
Still have the BB '58 in Blue - it's a keeper!
i am going through a similar phase in my watch collecting - i call it “back to basics”. great video 👍
Love the video! I own a 36 dj and I'm looking for my next piece, not sure if I should try my luck on GMT master 2 or just get a bb54!
Great vid on the 54 but honestly the Rolex looks small on your wrist while the Tudor looks the best. I have both 54 and 58 love them. But why wear on the right side???

We need a review on that DJ 36.
Yes, we want a review on the dj 36!
Could not agree with you more. I’ve had the 54 for 2-3 months now and can’t imagine not having it. It’s become part of my everyday me.
Bro. I had to sell my one watch collection-the batgirl- due to my job change. Im extremely sad. Do you think this would be a great consolation for an everyday peice?

Thanks again man, you made me lust for the bb54..
Yeah it’s been four months with mine. I’ve had many of the new Tudor releases and this has been the only one worth keeping for me so far
As for the 54, it's sure as hell a sleek piece. My only tudor is thr pro and I absolutely love it.
Did they discontinue that Motif dial on the Rolex?
What a mature journey you hit... I'm there with you, great video man👊🏾
Good watch taste ✌🏻 I also own a BB54 and I'm on a wait list for a Rolex DJ 36 green mint dial.
Totally agree with your perspective! Great video as always...
Out of curiosity, do you still own and wear the ADLC Santos?
I’ve been debating adding this to my collection. after years of messing with loads of brands, and getting rid of watches, my remaining two define that moment I’m in now - where I get it - submariner 126610, and the speedmaster with the hesalite (I actually have the sapphire sandwich too but that’s packed away). Only thing holding me back from getting the 54 is that I already have a submariner.
Magic watch that fits my wrist ! Both fits amazing on large and small wrists… hard to believe what a design
Awesome video. Really good perspective.
Bought mine today
Great feedback! Appreciate it 🍻 Would love to see you do a comparison video between the BB54 and the latest 62MAS reissue, the $3,500 USD SJE093! Please!
Thanks for the review, just subbed.
I’m on the same way
After collecting more than 60 watches, the BB54 look perfect for all occasion
You don’t have to carefully like a vintage sub
It’s perfect watch
im actually in that process, ill be selling many of my watches and just keep the BB54 and a Santos medium, for all ocation ready.
Totally agree, I have the same experience. Love the BB54, my daily rocker in last few month's.
I agree with your points. I own the watch and feel the same way. I almost am glad its underrated. Leave it to us who dont need to impress anyone
I haven't seen one in person yet but I think I would love the Tudor Black Bay 54...When I do I'll make a video and post on my channel for sure!
Very odd time where grown men are enamored with boy sized watches that they’ve never worn or held.
I get you, these two make a perfect 2 watch collection. As a Tudor fan I rock the blue BB58 and the new BB36 in anthracite all the time, and I’m now pretty sure I am satisfied. For now 😂
This is my first watch. I love it. I bought a yachtmaster after and didn't feel that it was that much nicer
103k subs and I’m just seeing you now?! Great vid/review. Good flow, no fluff. Suuuuuubed 😎👍🏼
Also, yeah…..may have to pick up a 54. 🤔
What’s your opinion about the rubber strap?
@WatchSociety im debating between the Tudor Monochrome 5-link bracelet or a Datejust!! I can’t make up my mind. 😢
Awesome four month review. I’ve got mine since July and can confirm everything you said. It’s the best Tudor in my opinion. Can you do a update on your STOC? That would be awesome.
Thank you. BB54 is nice. I'm coming around to a hit state of the collection video.
A very good introduction to the 54, congratulations! Our audience is similar, I like the videos. I will buy a Tudor first.
This is the watch that has me selling off most of my collection. Since I got the 54 on the first day it dropped I haven’t had the urge to wear any other watch. It’s also my gradation piece ti myself.
I like how you said “ realistic” and I agree with you 👌🏻
I recently got one , my verdict is that this watch is utter perfection.
Cool, I like the ossification towards something that is in a more level realm. Have to collect my Spectre from its service next week Bb is on my mind though, either the ceramic or 54 with a rubber strap
Go for it!
absolutel right
Yo, great video. Do you still feel the same about the 54? I already own a DJ 36 like yours, but with a silver dial. Do you still feel the same about the 54 today as you did when you originally published this video?
Which one you prefer the burgundy or the 54???
it's not my all time favorite in my collection, but it wears nice and I get compliments all the time.
I was thinking that, I wanted to purchase the Tag Heuer Carrera Date 36mm. Do you think it's a good watch for my first luxury watch collection?
Time for a SOTC
❤🔥Price aside, if you wanted your next piece to be a Cartier Santos Large (Silver Dial) or Tudor BB 54, which 1 would you add first? Of course you will get both... eventually
That sounds awfully specific my guy 🤣😭 do you need watch help ✌🏻😂
It’s a beauty. Received mine about a month ago. Hasn’t left my wrist. Happy you love it; and happy you’re keeping it. Cheers 🥂
That's awesome to hear! It sounds like you're really enjoying it. TBB54 is Tudor's modern-day revival! Cheers!
Yes the DJ is more refined and classic. It is a keeper
Yes sir
I have the same feeling with this one. Waiting for my AD to call me on this. My first watch was Rolex OP 39 - 114300. Its the look at my wrist piece if you know what u looking at (only people who understand class spot it). The BB54 has a similar character imo.

That exact Datejust model is my one and only dream watch from Rolex and if I should ever get this, it's over.
Could agree with you more. Tudor 54 is one of the most underrated models and I gravitate towards it at least twice weekly. 🎉
Rubber looks more casual
and being old and retired that’s probably the look I’ll go for. 🙏
I bought the bracelet but after a month I ordered the rubber and now have both.. summer is more on a rubber!
It’s nice to see that you respect our technology [Europe] … we are good with making precision & engineering such devices.
starting to gravitate towards the bb54
Excellent!
“ Don’t be a tool, wear a tool “ 😂
I will buy it tomorrow.
The history the looks and its sooooo comfortable and pleasing to the eye its gota be imo the new king of the black bay range 😊i own the rubber strap version ive worn it everyday the past 2 weeks since i purchased it 😮and am loving it more each day ❤a soon to be classic beautiful timepiece.
like the watch, like the proportions
Love Tudor ❤
💯👌🏻👌🏻….always tried to have more and more watches in the collection and looking for the grail….as you said -> too much money in the end….now: 2023 Daytona 116515LN and BB54…..more i don’t need….i hope 😉
Can’t agree more, for me, it is Cartier, Glashütte, and Tudor. Cartier is sophistication in looks. Glashütte is sophistication in works, and Tudor is day in day out no fuss no muss.
So well said about buying a watch….. buy what you like. What’s your thoughts on Doxa Sub 200? I think you get a lot of watch for the money.
Absolutely, buying a watch should be about personal preference and what resonates with you. As for the Doxa Sub 200, I've heard good things about it, a lot of value for the money. Although i haven't had the chance to get hands on but I'll definitely check it out and let you know my thoughts after 👍
@@WatchSociety all the best!
i looove this watch since a bought it.. i love it.. it got more wirst time then my daytona or my RM i just love this wonderfull pice of time♥️
The 54 it's a vintage watch that is trying to look like new and the 58 it's a new watch that's trying to look like a vintage.
It’s tudors best current watch
Love the BB54 but I think it would look way better if the hour hand were a bit shorter and smaller.
I agree… mine hasn’t left my wrist since I got it in June. only comes off when i take a shower, literally
I have hardly worn my 54. It’s possibly because I have it on the rubber
What's your wrist size?
Great video. I still love my BB54 too.
Wore it for 2 weeks solid on holiday in Spain. It was good in all situations even on the beach.
Nice, I would rather have the reality because it's a new piece better movement, absolutely solid. The vintage pieces will be a worry for me. I find the domed sapphire on my blue 58 protects the bezel insert.
Four Months on the Wrist,i Love my BB54..!
I think, you are damn right 🎉😅
Black Bay 58 and Grand Seiko SBGA 283 have been a good two watch collection for me. Simple, paired down, and timeless.
Less is more!!!! The 54 is refined, rugged, robust, …..practical. Great content!!! Feels like you had a Jerry McGuire moment😂
I wish I could get the rubber with clasp for the Pelagos39. The rubber strap is still awesome, but the clasp = poor man's yacht master
Much better than its big brother, and the timepieces are available as well, very clever marketing by the owners 😅😊
BB54 🙏🏻
Do you prefer the Datejust 36 over the 41? 👍🤷♂️ Perhaps a future video discussion? 😎
This is a great watch in every sense. But it’s crazy how the lume pip in the bezel is slightly misaligned in lots of the bb54s I see out there (mine included).
Quality control not on point.
I’m not a fan of divers but w/o the hash marks on the bezel really doesn’t make it look like a diver.
Tudor 54 is the Rx7, the Rolex is the Porsche.... own both!
Any content for women's please ? ☺
While the new clasp is safer, I feel like removing the super jubilee with hidden clasp was the worse move for the DJ.
54 is nice but something tells me I can get this same watch in an Oris
I was so holding out on this watch. You just convinced me getting one ! It’s all your fault.
It hasn’t left my wrist in the four months of ownership
