I personally think having each bone token be a little different from each one makes it more surreal. Like it was really hand made of real wood and bone.
using card with plastic around has an advantage, you could make a stamp with the sacrifice symbole, dip it in black ink, and just press it on the plastic of the sacrificed card.
I getting some tacky glue if you are planning on gluing a bunch of stuff together again :b Its significantly easier to work with when compared to super glue and you don't get those annoying strands of glue like you would with hot glue or super glue

Does putting putty over the bones help with not getting them stained with the full coins? The gaps caused from them being pieces don't look all too good
You could probably even take some form of transparent paint and paint over the bones first before staining, the idea being that the smoother surface, depending on what was used, wouldn't absorb as much stain
