    Now that you tore up their nests what are they gonna do for a home/protection?

    • @bugsnstuff

      They can spin a surprising amount of silk in a short time and repair any damage very easily.

    I had no ideas these massive spiders were like this. They peaceful crawl to figure out what’s going on and then they jump away 😌

      @@bugsnstuff when I bought my avic both of them I was told by the dealer they lived together in the wild ,backwater reptiles,
      I've asked a couple other Knowledgeable keeps an there answer was the same ,Tom's big spiders ,petko that I would end up with one fat spider,
      So thank you ur Definitive knowledge ends my debate on the topic,I mean if it happens you guys probably would have seen it ,
      It kinda seemed unnatural to me not enough pray for every individual so ,they would naturally disperse,👍

    I remember one of the old books that I read. Don't remember which one but it's one of the classics. In it there is a picture of an avic that had built it's burrow on top of a propane tank outside the hotel 🤣
    I remember being gob smacked because until then I'd imagined Tarantula as being these illusive spiders that you have to travel weeks in to unchartered jungle to find. I realised that they are often to people what our little orb weavers in our gardens are to us 🤯

    I hope this was all filmed early in the day. It would be terrible if they didn't have time to rebuild their retreats before nightfall. There are alot of nocturnal predators that feed on avics. If the spider is out in the open it is almost certain death.

    awesome, so cool seeing them in the wild, my very first Tarantula ever was a male pink toe, he was great, never struck, bit, or flicked hairs, unfortunately i didnt know anything about Ts at the time and had him in a too small cage and kept him like you would a reptile, but feed him good, and he lived a year the matured out then died naturally, now that im an experienced keeper probably will be getting a female 👍

      The silk is not her home. The silk suffers everyday somekind of destruction (water, wind, animals), etc. Destroying its home would be chop the tree or destroying the hole.

      They are called Pinktoe tarantulas, and are commonly found in pet stores because of their docile nature.

    • @TruthIsTheNewHate84
      @TruthIsTheNewHate84 6 років тому

      Avicularia metallica. Although they recently changed the name. Most places will know what you are talking about if you ask them if they have metallic pinktoe T's or Avicularia Metallica. There is a pet store near me that has a juvenile about 2 inches that comes with the terrarium for 40 usd.

    One of the people working in production told me that these guys bring all the Ts with them. They plant them strategically and pretend they found them in the wild. Its OK, just wanted to let everyone know. Avics are no longer available in the wild, you can find them at Petco though.

    • @debbiemcclure2874
      @debbiemcclure2874 3 роки тому +1

      @@chester3087 all spiders can bite. Depends on how defensive they whether they will or not. It also depends on how threatened they feel. But I have some that I have spooked and they've basically balled up like a scared bunny but I have a couple that will definitely bite when spooked. It also depends on the spider

    Beautiful discoveries of a stunning genus. Also did you hear about the revision of names of some Avicularia members? Versicolor is no longer a species in the Avicularia genus, and is now recognised as Caribena Versicolor, and Caribena is now used to refer to all 'pink toed' tarantulas that are distributed in the islands bordering Central and South America, like the 'Puerto Rican Pink Toe' (Avicularia Laeta) is also now a Caribena. Don't ask me why, but that's taxonomy for you.
