We need a video of what these guys do with the bikes between motos...that always intrigues me that the time they have is short and they get it all done
Coming from the Midwest background in aircraft, I was a machinist, mechanic, engineer, manager and legit this is the way to operate. This translates into every facet of your life
Bro. The way he handled those digital calipers caused me physical pain. Some advice from a machinist to a mechanic. When storing your calipers always make sure they are slightly open. NEVER store them completely closed. Also, those calipers came with a case. Please, please find it and use it. That's a somewhat precision measuring device that you are tossing around like a set of pliers. And since they are digital, always have spare batteries with you. I actually keep a set of dial calipers just in case the battery goes dead and I don't have a replacement.
This was so cool. Thanks. Side note. I am so old I remember when the consensus was that, it was the Swiss for measurement, and the Japanese for cheap copies. Strange times indeed.
You know you are a tool freak when you can watch every team tool box, which are probably 99% the same, but still, you want to look at those beautiful tools
Has to buy his own tools... arguable the most revenue rich team in the sport and he doesn't get a tool stipend? Crazy. Love the behind the seens stuff, keep it coming
I don't know where you live, but it's quite common for mechanics/service technician's in the US that they have to buy/bring their own tools and boxes to get the job done. Here in Europe we get everything from clothes to tools for free from the company we work for!
10:04 - what container is that for the clutch plates? I’ve been looking all over for something small and circular to do the same and haven’t had much luck
ya this was cool. reminded me of myself about the bit where he sees a specialized tool and has to have it. im constantly doing that because I hate half assing stuff and if im working on an expensive bike or whatever it is, I'd rather do the job right.
I love these videos, not many out there, I have a similar track box that I’ve built over the years that is pretty similar, but it’s always cool to learn how the pros do it. I can’t ride as fast as the pros but I can at least work on them right. Especially now that I’m working on my kids bikes.
When I was an apprentice mechy at Scunthorpe steelworks in the 80's we were all issued with Starrett squares and rule's. All the mic's in the stores were Moore & Wright.... I actually still have all my gear from back then - not much need for a 2" BSW Snail Brand open ended spanner at home though :D
Don, you should make some contacts next time you're in Japan...Become a distributor and with all your contacts in the motorsports industries Japan has some really high quality tools like Kyoto. Most Japanese tools are hard to get in the states as they don't have the business model like Cornwell, Mac, Matco Truck routes. Also, Knipex is a German tool company that actually makes Snap-on's dikes, needle nose, duck bill pliers, snap ring pliers etc. but they are considerably cheaper.
My dad is a master machinist and talks about every little detail about tools he has those same safety wire pliers he said they cost that much and i didn’t believe him he has indicators and micrometers thats cost thousands its unreal
Lol I just bought a tool cart cause I got sick of going from the bike to my box over and over. And god forbid I work on a bike on a lift away from my box I love having a little mobile station with everything I commonly use.
I saw this argument yesterday and the conclusion is that calling a spanner a wrench is an American thing, in near enough the whole rest of the world a spanner is a spanner and a wrench is used to wrench sockets
The Guy looks like Dave Mustaine for MEGADETH .... I didnt even listen but mechanics are cool the keep the Sport rollin in so many fuckin ways its insane
Theres only 3 places that top quality measuring tools come from, that's Germany, Switzerland, and Japan. For me personally I like brown and sharp due to the ease of use with one hand holding the micrometers.

Please do more of these videos. Love seeing what the mechanics keep in there toolboxes

Love the tech side of this sport videos like this make my day! Fellow bike mechanic for a Suzuki dealer ship in SW Florida

As a machinist it hurt me. I couldn't believe they weren't in case. I bet they are off.
I will never be mad at behind the scenes content from my favorite team. 🤗✅💚
Thats good because its all about keeping you happy

He would be lost . Two stroke and not fuel injected.
@@samwittstruck.6685 True. I would need emigs old mechanic that worked on his 97.

Love the mechanics / tools videos! I’ve always loved working on bikes and motors. I should have went to school to be a certified mechanic 🔥

wow didn’t know PC only provided the box’s and carts. Kinda cool to hear him say that
*tool box guy* "you can put my little instagram thing here"
*camera guy* "I will, I will"
doesn't.
i was looking for this comment lol
It’s in the description but I thought that too lol
i was thinking the same thing because i wanted to get some of those t handles 😂
Love this stuff, great videos

Great content
Snap on tools are the best !
Where can I find the shock bumper lifter tool? Nice set up Olly
You said you would put his Instagram?
Cool vid!!
So what do you call a spanner wrench? Cool edit, should do more of these

Snap on knipex and good Japanese machinist calipers . I definitely approve ,wish snap on would sponsor mx
What that a Carbon Fiber tray on the side of the tool box? That was bad ass I want one.
My dad is a master machinist and talks about every little detail about tools he has those same safety wire pliers he said they cost that much and i didn’t believe him he has indicators and micrometers thats cost thousands its unreal
It would be cool to wrench for Mitch but damn I bet the pressure gets high too

more of these
I need a carbon tray, so badly 😂
Does anyone out there know what brand of feeler gauges he uses
I’m in the us there spanners or box ends
When in Japan buy Koken and KTC straight from the source
I’m surprised he has a cheaper gear wrench torque wrench and not a newer snap-on tech angle.
I saw this argument yesterday and the conclusion is that calling a spanner a wrench is an American thing, in near enough the whole rest of the world a spanner is a spanner and a wrench is used to wrench sockets

Anton totally left him hanging on the IG plug too😖
What does a factory mechanic in the U.S make a year?
Copying someone's idea is the purest form of flattery!!
No JIS screwdrivers? #vessel
Where was the micrometer ?

@@joenobody2580 that’s not a mic…
Hey Kawasaki, can I borrow Stone for a weekend?
Put his Instagram in here!
I thought that was RV2 for a sec
What a cool dude. I wonder if the British calls a Zebra a Zedbra?
Hahaha! Zedbra😄
Yeah we do 😅. Never thought about it lol
Zebra, not zeebra
They Don’t Provide Tools 🤔🤔🤔
When you provide tools to employees, they often don't treat the tools properly.
I believe this is pretty common. In the automotive world, tool boxes aren’t even provided.
As a mechanic myself I can confirm you have to buy all your own tools.
Snap-on 😂😂
Bro you've been around so long and put out so many videos but this one made me dizzy with our lens constantly in an outta focus.
Theres only 3 places that top quality measuring tools come from, that's Germany, Switzerland, and Japan. For me personally I like brown and sharp due to the ease of use with one hand holding the micrometers.
I’m going to buy a new bike and not tell the wife lol
Where the 10mm at
Damn this Brit has a bad case of getting the American accent twang lol
Only the people that don’t have snap on whinge about the price.
But they also never tell you how much$ they owe the snapon truck (and the fact they don't own their tools yet)
@@janeblogs324 you clearly don’t own any snap on
It's only OCD if it slows you down, if not its efficiency.
Wrong
@@sekou3758 Too each there own.
Thats not really that many tools compared to other motorsports
Yes they are called spanners, wrench is just an American thing lol
its like he has a british accent but his a's are american
All the precision shit comes from Japan lol how ironic
Um, pretty average setup
In case you want to get some titanium T-handles --> instagram.com/olly_stone/
Thanks the dick didn’t plug his insta
