Thank you 😊
I loved this, my fav Chinese restaurant went out of business and I have tried so many times to imitate their shrimp chowmein. I never realized the magic was in udon + dark soy + Sesame oil to get that authentic-my-neighborhood-restaurant-smell-n-style. Thanks for teaching me the udon style noodles, love from an Indian mom
Thank you 😊
Making this tonight!!!

Very easy indeed 😄 Thanks!
Hi Ling, Looks wonderful noodle dish.
Thank you😋
Thanks for the good video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 mostly any kind of noodles are so good
Noodles so comforting. Thanks Ronnie 😊
@@ChineseHealthyCook yes it is. I get the same comforting feeling with soup, stews and any noodle dishes
@@ChineseHealthyCook Chinese can get malnourished from eating just noodles! That's why they sometimes add an egg. People need to remember that.
1k like. Lovely delicious.
yummy!!
I just went to our local Asian grocery store today... Looks like I'm going back tomorrow for some of those noodles 🙂😂🙏 Kendra... Thanks Ling
Hope you enjoy, Kendra 😊
Hi Miss Ling! I’ve missed your videos! I have made this before. The only difference is I add a touch of Chinese black vinegar. I just love the taste. Reminds me I need to get some more Bok Choy 🥬 from my Asian market. Hope all is well! ❤
Hope all is well too, Jamie!
Great video....I like it ;)
On the menu for this week.
Enjoy!
Yum yum, I want some !!

He can eat noodles everyday 😆
Looks delicious! So cute, you and the camera man!😅😂
Thank you ☺️
Yum
Hi Ling. It's been a while since I tried udon noodles. I prefer the soft tight seal package than the frozen ones. When I make these, I usually like to add a meat or seafood item with it. Either way how it's done, it taste delicious.
I always have udon in my freezer. How’s the weather by you?
@@ChineseHealthyCook Hey Ling. I didn't find the frozen udon's that good. The sealed ones tasted much better for all my stir frying needs. You and I would have a blast making Chinese foods under the same roof, lol. To answer your question, it was great. 17C which is excellent for this time of the year. But starting Saturday, the temperatures will really drop, so it will be time to warm up in my leathers. A few days ago, I made a chow fun stir fry. The family loved it. It was a lot of "fun" to make, lol.
Yummy, 😂 I know this is delicious Mr. Cameraman couldn’t stop eating or manage the camera he was so tickled. Excited to make this stir fry. If I added mushrooms which I love when do I add those before adding the noodles? Thanks for sharing 🥳💕
You can work mushrooms first followed by Bok Choy. Doesn’t he love noodles? 😆
@@ChineseHealthyCook Thank you can’t wait to make your delicious 😋 dish. He loves everything you make.
I think, Monday, I'll try this....
Wanted to share with you, had lunch the other day at this Sichuan noodle shop. Order Chongquing(?) noodle, omg it was so spicy 😫 🔥, I couldn't eat much, despite me telling them to make it mild. Drank 2 glasses of icy cold water.
Chongqing noodles is one of my favorites. Sorry it was too spicy for you.
Delicious 😋
UA-cam doesn't notify me of your videos for ages now. I search u up when u randomly pop into my mind 💘💘❤💔😘😍😍
It might be something changed. Glad you are here 😊 Do you have the notification bell on?
Yaki Udon a regular lunch item in Kyushu for me.
That good as hell
Love from pakistan
I wonder if the camera likes you he's always so happy around you you guys have great chemistry !
Can’t you tell we are a couple? 😆 Both of us love cooking and eating 😋
@@ChineseHealthyCook I could tell ~ I thought he was your husband.
love you so much, vegetable oil and sesame oil , why more oil?
Ha, sesame oil for flavor 😆
❤
👍❤️
Is this intended to have a more raw garlic flavor? I noticed you cut the garlic fairly thick rather than chopped or minced, and then barely cooked it in oil before adding in the other ingredients. Also, what are your thoughts on adding some ginger and fish and/or oyster sauce?
Garlic is cooked. Yes, you may add ginger or fish sauce.
What's the brand of the sesame oil and vegetable oil that you are using. When you hold it up, you can't see the label.
I used Evergreen sesame oil and Trader Joe’s avocado oil, but any brand is fine. Enjoy!
This is very similar to something I make maybe once per week. Sometimes includes, carrot, or cabbage, or whatever I have laying around.
More importantly, I never bother boiling the Udon noodles - I just throw them straight in the wok. Does that make a big difference?
If it worked for you, you don’t have to boil. This package says to cook before stir frying.
@@ChineseHealthyCook Ok thanks, I can't read the package because it's all just squiggles to me.
Udon noodles are definitely my favourite type, I know everything else has its place but Udon are just so much easier - no need for soaking / separating / etc. Maybe I just need to learn to be less lazy to appreciate rice, glass etc. Thanks for your suggestions as always.
i think it is best to cook it in boiling water for minute and using your chopsticks to separate the strands 2:28
I would like to make this recipe, but I need a URL for the pack of udon noodles (AKA Shanghai style noodles), 16 oz. Thanks
Found the exact pack on Freshdurect:

@@ChineseHealthyCook Thanks so much for the URL, I went to order but I get this message: FreshDirect does not deliver to zip code:94558, which is my zip code. Is there another place? Thanks
You may try Instacart: www.instacart.com/products/298153
Can we make this with regular noodles?
Yes, use any noodles you have. Enjoy!
good recipe
KISS for you
Thanks ☺️
@@ChineseHealthyCook good week to you my friend
Und etwas Zucker/Hoisin ist nicht gut für das Rezept?
So just soya sauce and salt nothing else.?
Finished with sesame oil. Less is more sometimes 😄
Lol 7:05
to improve the overall taste I would add oyster sauce and some 1 teaspoon of chicken powder stock. If you want a super healthy meal then the above recipe would suffice.
Sounds good 👍
why no meat? i like with any meat or prowns
I have another recipe with chicken 😆
💐💐♥️💐💐🔥🔥✨✨🍜🍜🍤🍤🥡🥡 ! Ho chia, ✋😀 ! * * * * *
Ich rate mal, du hast einen deutschen Ehemann, stimmt's?😅
I have never, ever seen anyone adding table salt when you're going to add soy sauce and two of them. If you want saltier just add more soy sauce.
Salt and soy sauce season differently. You can just use soy sauce 😆
Gads, only soy sauce as seasoning & a few bunches of bok Chou, that’s not a meal?!!!
Actually it is, and quite a good one at that!
Simple and plant based but you can expand it 😆
yeah, THAT IS A MEAL! you seem very unfamiliar with these things, so welcome to chinese cooking.
@@Herrera_70 yes, I am unfamiliar with this, however I am familiar with Chinese cooking! So glad that u r such the expert!!
@@JamieRoberts77 good for u & ur defensiveness!!
