Peter was my Godfather and I never had the pleasure in meeting him but I know he's happy and he was a great friends to both my family and his fans. R.I.P.
Weird that Pete Quaife is playing Lola when he didn't even record that song, he left the band already. Which proves he liked the song and probably still liked some Kinks songs post-when he left.
Lovely, soft spoken gent, seems very kind. The rock world was not for him and he left it. I read he was a classical guitar teacher in his spare time. Unfortunate that he suffered with such ill health in his later years. I will always love the Kink's music. Thanks UA-cam algorithm for sending to me this morning. 🥰🌌👼🕉️
What a nice, normal guy. Unlike many others who leave the limelight, he seemed to have found real happyness and contentment after such a successful career . Sad about his passing.
He was a great "live" bassist. It's a shame they didn't bust him out in the studio. Listen to "Kinks in Paris, 1965" he really tears it up. Fantastic bassist.
At 5:15 "it's been 15 years" ... this interview would have to have been in 1984, not 1988, because Peter left the Kinks in 1969. Also, at 4:09 "after 13 years" ... Peter was in the Kinks from its inception in 1962 until he left permanently in April 1969. That's not 13 years. Do the math.

How'd ye not meet ye own Godfather f*ck sake?
He had a great scooter in the 60’s 🛵

Dave said it himself,The Kinks wasn't really the Kinks when he left.

Thanks for the music mate! 💗💗💗
Funny he strums Lola when John dalton was the bass player on that hit .
He was on the Record. That’s Pete Quaife
@@alfching2499 No, Raymond Bonington is correct. John Dalton plays on the record. "Lola" was written and recorded in 1970. Pete Quaife left in 1969.
Right, Dalton on bass. They also say that Pete left the Kinks after 13 years. Way off! More like 5 years.
Nice that Pete was a Canadian for a while .
So fine to finally get a taste of his vocal abilities. Sad he died so long ago.

Thanx for this. Quite left the Kinks in 1969 then made a single with MAPLE OAK Son of a Gun. Narrator said he left music business after 13 years......

I noticed that to!
Bass players are always the coolest. Geddy Lee, John Entwistle, Paul Simonon, Daryl Jenifer, & Adam Yauch
In a 1996 interview, John Entwistle said that Pete Quaife was his favorite bass player.
