very interesting, look forward to more testing 👍
Great review, Gal! Thanks a lot! 😃
Too bad all the issues... It's a pretty interesting system!
THANKS.......................!!! This is a very helpful recording!
I bought these but need to get them up and running. Good to see your video on this.
Thanks. Let me know how it goes for you.
Thank you for video! Useful!
You are welcome!
nice work, thank you very much!
Thanks Dim!
Thanks.
Very knowledgeable and appreciated! I was considering this option as I looks grate for long range reliability but I wasn't sure how it interacts with crossfire so I'm excited to see how you come out with the repeater set up and what your recommendation for a 2.4ghz system for plug and play might be for a faster pop up and go set up...
🥃cheers🍻
Cheers buddy, I will keep you guys posted.
Great video, thank you! Beside TBS radio link and GPS, where to put the notch filter? to the VRX ot the VTX? (or both? :) ) Which notchfilter did you get? Thank you in advance and keep up the good work! :)
Thanks! You should use the notch filters on the VRX as far as I know but so far I don't have a good experience using this system with along with the TBS Crossfire, so I can't be much of a help. I will try to use it again hopefully in the near future and then post a new video about it.
Good review. You came across the same issues Pawel from INav had with his test sample.
Thanks, yes I did. Watch out for the upcoming update video.
This just isn't an ideal setup on a quad. You just cannot get the GPS rx far enough away from the Vtx, which will cause you problems with obtaining and retaining sats. On planes this is awesome, but the rx is really not very good in goggles as it's too close to the tx as you found out.
always a good reviews. question: How are the antennas placed during the flight, vertical from the front or side, horizontal? thanks
Thanks! You need to match the same orientation of the antenna that is mounted on the drone.
Did you ever do the update with the video repeater to eliminate interference from crossfire?
Guess not use on 10" drone. But still prob fine on rc car I just drive around my neighborhood. Set ground station on table next to me. Keep further away and try some good notch filters. I want the penetration. See if it beat the 3w 5.8ghz that did make it thru 2 long building around the block controlling from inside 3rd building overin my apartment
Hi Gal,
Thx for testing 👍
did you get it working with CRSF? didn’t find the announced follow up video?
Hi there, I didn't get it to work unfortunately....
@@KremerFPV but you tried? too bad but thx for your reply 🤷♂️
looks very nice, does the rx unit only work with this specific tx? what about "conventional" 1.2 ghz tx's?
Thanks. You need to make sure that the VTX supports the RX channels.
Good review. Do you think remote ID will damage the fpv industry and development of new technology and availability of quad parts?
No, USA is only a small market. China will still produce tons of remote ID free stuff for everybody else.
@@tstrrtstrr745 USA is only a small market? 😳🤔🤔🤔 WHAT!!!! It's the biggest market of fpv drone pilots. China is just bigger from a manufacturer standpoint for drones, not sure where you are getting your info from but recheck it 👍🏻
Thank you. It will surely effect the entire industry. I am not from the US and I am not familiar with all the details about it, but I wish you good luck in your fight.
Hell no....no consent no I.D SIMPLE...as long as people are flying, china will keep producing parts and new Technology.
That thinky is not a notch filter. Is but its a high pass filter for the 2.4ghz RX on your model
Interesting Gal , waiting for the next one , I wonder if US regulation allow using 1.3 ghz vtx
Yea you need a HAM license to legally use these frequencies but that's no different than the "normal" VTX 5.8 frequencies
@@pbshooter100 thank you
@@Switch180fpv You bet glad to be of service
Thanks Eyal :-)
I am researching LR and found this information/video VERY helpful. Will you be including information to adjust the LP filter (i live in USA)when you make the repeater video for your ground station? So far I have been unable to find any information about LP adjustment for LP filters. Thank you
Thanks. I am sorry but so far I didn't have a much better luck after using a ground repeating station and filters...
There was an improvement after using the repeating station however the range was still not great. I will have to see what I can do and research other options.
@@KremerFPV these are really bad news! This makes me think that the Matek system is non reliable. Will you still try to reach a good quality? I'm looking forward to your positive result.
@@Tonynux I need to conduct more tests. Unfortunately I don't have the time to perform all the tests I would like to :-/
@@KremerFPV I see! But please be aware that many people (I believe) would be interested to your test, as no one else is conducting this type of test on the 1.3GHz verylongrange system.
Hello very Good vidéo, VRX module compatible with eachine ev200d ? Thanks
Thanks. Yes it is.
Can you tell me what you were using to test the receiver module outside of the goggle?
Sure: ua-cam.com/video/MAZoz_8AWe4/v-deo.html
Hi what is the name or brand of your thermal sensor device? Thanks
There you go: bit.ly/DaniuHY18
I'm not at all interested in long range flights but I would like to see how good the obstacle penetration is on this.
A followup video will be up soon.
Me too!
I did a test at my university. Carrying my drone. I got down 3 flights of stairs down a hall and had signal. It was amazing.
How about rapidfire vs Marek 1.3ghz bando multipath?
Review unexceptionable but very annoying accent. Sorry.
Good video... I have the Dragon Link on my Remote Control Spektrum. So you do not recommend buying the Txv / Rxv Matek? Thxs
Thanks. I am going to give it another try. Watch out for the upcoming update video.
Dragonlink and 1.3 go together extremely well. The problem is you need an Rx on a GS, not a module like this one that has no shielding because the DL tx swamps the rx when it's that close
@@AdamGdoesFPV Excuse me, I understand how GS is a ground video RX module, not a Rx in goggles? For this Vtx Matek model I have a 1.258 Ghz helicoidal antenna connected to a Digital Display RCA 1.2/1.3 Ghz receiver and it works much better than the VRx of the Goggles Fat Shark. Could I try this module on an airplane where I have the DL or do I need a different more powerful and powerful VRx receiver?. ua-cam.com/video/0283JnP5b24/v-deo.html. TXS
I have my old vortex 285 with Ezuhf looking to convert it to a modern LR set up maybe that would be better. I think 915 and 1.3 are too close I never had a fail safe with my Ezuhf wish they done better rx as Im having not a good time with crsf at the moment.
Yes, a 433mhz system is probably the best option. A followup video will be up soon, so stay tuned.
@@KremerFPV thatbwoukd be great could you do a quick video on crsf settings as Im getting very poor rssi and lq i got a bundle pack of 5 so far all 4 on different builds are the same.
@@kanenstuff are you having this issue with a 1.3ghz vtx or when using a 5.8ghz vtx as well?
Please more tests....
Yes, I am going to conduct more tests. Things are just a bit crazy over here at the moment.
@@KremerFPV same this side... thanks
hello how are you, i would like to know if using vtx and vrx matek is it possible to capture the aircraft's audio? did you take this test?
Hi there, yes, audio is supported.
@@KremerFPV Have you auditioned for audio? because here I did a test and I didn't get audio
Witch filter do you will choose?
I am going to use TBS notch filters on both VTX and RX modules.
@@KremerFPV thanks
I fly freestyle, but i am fed up with crap signal , lines ect. I can't afford digital, so if i used this setup, would i be getting a better video feed?
On the paper, yes, but you should be aware of radio issues. You might want to switch to a 433mhz radio control system.
What is that device you are using to measure the heat please?
bit.ly/DaniuHY18
blackmarket for the non US ones much?
Hello, please help with changing the power of vtx 1.3ghz 1.5w by switch (FOX800) low budget china vtx, thank you)
Hi, which VTX exactly?
Thing with 5.8ghz i run patch antennas. With 1.3ghz i run omni. But i think 1.3hz still wins. 1.2ghz 2w vs 5.8ghz 5w
How badly does it affect gps? I just bought this setup for my gps long range build I hope it will work.
You must use notch filters as otherwise you will experience GPS issues.
I am using this with a 5.8 ghz relay-working well
How do you set up audio? I get no audio via my relay
Thanks
That's good to know. You need to use a VTX with an audio input.
@@KremerFPV Thanks for your reply but I think my Vrx does not have the same audio subcarriers. I have the Parton receiver
How about if you use a 2.4 gigahertz radio or 433mhz?
1.3ghz won't work well with a 2.4ghz system due to radio signal harmonics.
You need a 5.8g video repeater station to forward video to your goggles. This is standard practice if you are to avoid corrupting your received video signal by your control transmitter. Be it UHF or Crossfire.
You wont need any notch filters once you use a Ground-station and 5.8g repeater relay...It will easily outrange any Quad you own.
Thanks, I've already arranged this setup and I will test it soon.
@@KremerFPV Yes, I was looking for your follow up video...Put a big underslung Lipo on the quad if you want to do a proper range test is my advice...lol.
@@EnglishTurbines Thanks, I think that I will use a lion battery. Hopefully I'll be able to test it soon...
@@KremerFPV Cool, look forward to it..:)
630mw of video is an excessive amount of RF to have on a Quad....200mw is what I use, more than enough and my GPS can cope with it..🤔😯
Thanks mate, I need to research this topic when I will have more time.
Not everyone is into quads. Planes can use the extra grunt
@@blackterminal I have 800mw 1.2g vtxs on my fixed wings, which is also rather excessive TBH... No, the mistake Matek made was to not provide different RF levels on a button like on their 5.8g vtxs...🤔😳🇬🇧
How far does this transmit?
In theory you can get really far with it but I haven't had a lot of luck using my current configuration, as mentioned in the video.
So, how far in Km ?
(video link)
I didn't go far as I had issues with my crossfire and this VTX working together.
I wonder if this would work well on Tracer.......
No it won't...
@@KremerFPV I think it will cause interference
@@gmivisualsjason3729 Yes exactly.
VTX-1G3 kills GPS signal?
This would be news to me.
I will use a Low Pass Filter on the VTX antenna connector to try to solve this issue.
Yes, just add distance and use an LHCP VTX antenna (GPS/GLONASS/Beidou etc are elliptical/circular LHCP and in the same frequency range)
My understanding is the notch filter should be placed inline with the transmitting antenna... not the goggle receiving antenna. ua-cam.com/video/eUxRvZcIHY0/v-deo.html
Thanks, I tested it out too but didn't have a great success..
Try another antenna also, I've seen it's garbage
Thanks, I will.
you can try ELRS 2.4GHz instead of the Crossfire 900MHz, and get even longer range.
In other words pointless. No crossfire , no R9
Whoever flies 1.2ghz vtx will fly 433mhz anyway
I am going to give it another try using a ground station, better antennas and proper notch filters.
@@KremerFPV did you already build the GroundStation? I'm really interested. I think you will be the first one doing it with the Matek system.
@@Tonynux Yes but unfortunately it did work well for me. I still have to figure it out.
Only pointless if you use this matek receiver. I was very annoyed with it as you cannot use it as a google module, it gets too close to tx and has no shielding. Use a normal 1.3g rx on a GS and 1.3ghz is king! I fly up to 15km away still skimming the ground
Thanks.
