I saw him a few weeks ago in Denver. He moves like someone half his age and was totally captivating. I was reduced to a total fan girl with tears in my eyes when he played Cars. I hope he comes back to the US soon!
I've a been a fan of Tubeway Army/Gary Numan since 78. He pioneered that Britsynthania sound of the late 70s early 80s, and he's a really top bloke taboot. Thanks for the video 👍
Wonder whether they're using an original Polymoog Keyboard? That being a late-Seventies synth with full polyphony and a grand total of fourteen stock, barely-editable presets. Gary used one of those - the "Vox Humana" - to the point where it defined his music, gave it that "Gary Numan" sound. While he could use the real thing, it'd be easier to sample it and would sound almost identical, rather than have to rely on a notoriously cranky and fragile forty-five-year-old instrument.
I think they use a virus and hook it up to a computer for the synth effects (im not technical with synths so that may cringe someone out). I think some people dislike that fact, but you have to keep up with the times, it still sounds epic
@@theROMguy All it's really going to take is an accurate set of samples. The original, though, is infamously hard to duplicate. The Polymoog Keyboard "Vox Humana" may have been no more than a combo organ with vibrato and a slow attack and decay, run through a bunch of built-in effects. But reproducing the exact sound of all that not-so-hi-fi analog processing is not easy.
They were cranky and fragile when they were brand new lol, looking under the hood of one of those analog synths is like omg , trouble shooting that on a tour! One working on stage , back up ready for when it inevitably breaks, and one in the shop being repaired was how Garys synth tech described it .

I can't believe he is 66 years old and still performing my favorite songs from my high school years.
My FAVE Numan song since The Pleasure Principle 1979
🌹🤍🌹
Thank you!!
The guy is 66,when you think back to when people used to retire at 65 ,looking old and worn out, look at this guy
This is the "B" side of the "Cars" 45. Loved it since I was a kid.
I've always loved Gary and I always will. He's absolutely the best.
Hell yeah!
My favorite song off The Pleasure Principle (and maybe my favorite song of Gary Numan's)
Saw Gary a couple of weekends ago in Dallas. Stole the show
Been a fan since The Mightee Boosh.. nahh just kiddin.. since the first time I heard Cars in my little Alabama childhood
All these years after hearing his hit album when released. Still has all the weirdness I liked.
The best music of the late ‘70s. Still sounds fresh today.
Awesome, thanks for filming this! ❤👍
Just saw him at the Royal Oak Music Theater 3-13-24 What a thrill it would have been to have seen him at such a small venue!
Royal Oak is an awesome venue!! About half the size as venue in video...

My brother had cars on 45, with NIN years later, now this, impressive. ❤

Nine Inch Numan
Nimble Numan
Jagged love the song and album.
Nice!
Gary Rules
It's so funny how much of a perspective difference there is between our heights 😂
I just saw them in SLC and all I saw was the tall guys and occasionally Gary's head and arm 😅
I was holding my phone above my head the whole time while filming this, but even if I wasn’t that difference is still legit
Drop the syrup & be like the guitar players.
But... but... he wouldn't be Gary then. Besides, he got it very cheap off Gary Glitter, who won't be needing it again.
@@rocketscience4516🤣
Syrup of figs 😂
Surprisingly good.....
Saw him when he was in PA a few weeks ago. Fantastic show! I'd go again.
wIND cREEKER DID i SEE YOU? LOL
This is so much better than "Cars."
Many, many of his songs are better than Cars.
@@geographyinaction7814 I never knew.
Cars came out 45 yrs ago. It was a catchy song bitd.
One would hope a gifted musician would progress and Gary Numan didn't falter there...
Disagree Cars is better you can do so much more with it in the way of remixes.
@@skeleman1963 I never liked "Cars," so when I heard this I was pleasantly surprised.
Down in the park
Brig It On Mr. Numan!!!!! 💕 The great job on this video. WOW😮 💯💯💯
Do you have any footage of Ministry or Front Line Assembly from that show that you could put up?
I do not! Sorry to say. Thanks for asking, though.
I tried to see Gary in Nashville but then they wanted proof of vaccination at the door.
lol
That nazi shit is why I stopped giving any money to the music industry
His voice was drowned out with music .
His voice is important and should be clear to hear
He should re-record this song with this sound. Very heavy.
Cars video .theres no strings. Period. But gary did have a drummer among a synth gang. Being a drummer i was stoked
And I thought I did too many drugs in my time!
Numan does none, never has 😉
Helps explain at 66 he still performs better than most half his age 🙏🏼
That man rocks.!
The intro sounds like the intro to the beach boys song do it again
Vistions of Hell

Rammstein anyone?
This drummer needs to take some lessons from Cedrick {R.I.P.}. Hitting cymbals in all the wrong places.
Hawkwind did it better
Too many dudes in dresses for my liking.
I think it helps to keep certain things cool during running around the stage.😅
Because it makes you hot.
Cry harder. 😂
Ah you like your dudes more masculine looking.

Wonder what happened to him to end up doing shit perfomances like this ?
Hard pass. Why did this crap show up in my feed?
Lame.
FUCKING MEGA!
