I grew up with a father that knew all the history of the church. We talked about all of it. He knew and loved the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. And I have grown to love the restored gospel of Jesus Christ ❤
Over the years…. the faith that grew from child like trust… has been bolstered by the logical knowledge that I’ve gained thru study and prayer…
Thank you both for adding enthusiasm to all this knowledge ❤

Hearing David’s extensive knowledge, background, and lifelong research in Christianity is incredible. But more importantly, with all that he knows and has learned, I’m so grateful that Christ’s true church is discernible, even for someone like me with a small, limited, and humble knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I can’t quote scripture 50 times in one setting, but I can bear simple truth. The simplicity of tasting the fruit and discerning its quality is truly a gift! And what a wonderful fruit it is!

I am a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 33 years now ( convert ) , and I am so Happy that I gained a Testimony of the Truthfulness of this church , Gods kingdom here on the earth , and I would challenge everyone to investigate the church with a sincere , humble heart and let the Holy Spirit testify of its truthfulness , you will be so blessed if you do , and let the Lord guide you in this journey !!!

The Holy Ghost reveals the truth to our hearts and minds. There's only been a few things in my life that God told me I wouldn't understand till later, and some not of the church. Usually he enlightened my understanding as I've studied the holy scriptures.

Parker I loved this interview. I cannot think of another man who has been humble his whole life in searching for the truth. Maybe Job. David has given up everything in this search. Wealth, friends, family, reputation,. This search has been his “trial of Abraham“ necessary for us to see his humility ,diligence, patience, and long-suffering. So that we could have no doubt of his sincerity in finding the truth. ❤🕊️🙏

I was just quoting what he said about himself, he has said repeatedly that it wasn’t until he completely humbled himself that he received his testimony. Of course he’s a humble guy, but we all have time in life where a deeper level of humility is required to receive answers. Even prophets have these moments. Nothing against David, just a process we all have to go through of continually humbling ourselves before the Lord.

This guy is amazing. Things like the reformation were necessary but he clearly shows they did the same things as other Christian religions. There's a big difference between being inspired by the Lord and being authorized by the Lord. We have to understand that priesthood authority is not only restored but active in this present day.

We the Saints love David, his peach analogy reminded me of this quote from the prophet Joseph Smith in the glorious King Follett sermon
“This is good doctrine. It tastes good. I can taste the principles of eternal life, and so can you. They are given to me by the revelations of Jesus Christ; and I know that when I tell you these words of eternal life as they are given to me, you taste them, and I know you believe them. You say honey is sweet, and so do I. I can also taste the spirit of eternal life. I know it is good; and when I tell you of these things which were given me by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, you are bound to receive them as sweet, and I rejoice more and more.”

Thank you for being a Latter Day Paul. Not because you persecuted us but because you are out there publicly spreading the gospel to bolster faith and to help people break through all the deception out there. Over the years our numbers have grown with converts and they all have beautiful stories and testimonies, I’m just grateful Heavenly Father put in your heart to create a UA-cam channel to help counteract all the loud voices of accusatory fog, as you put it, and he gave you the gift to articulate yourself in a powerful way. We need all the spiritual gifts out there working together to help build the kingdom but yours is a very important one. As you know, one of the main tactics Satan will use in the last days is deception. He’s always used it but his time is short and it’s on overdrive! The church needs you and others like you. Not to defend and debate but more importantly offer answers, insights and other perspectives that counteract those voices and deceptions as you do and to speak plainly about things people have a hard time articulating to themselves and seeing through and understanding. You just explain it so well. I feel your background is sooooo unbelievably necessary to be able to do that along with your gift to articulate. People sometimes don’t know what’s slowly happening to them. The frog in water analogy. It also makes all of us so grateful for what we have and for the savior.
I also very much appreciate the interviewer as well. He provided powerful and amazing insights to what you were expressing. Also very good video production.
Thank you for what you’re doing!

There is a really interesting principle coming through here in the contrast of childlike faith and intellectualism. An important point is that the first leaves room for the latter but the latter does not leave room for the first. Something to ponder on, for sure.

Love seeing David share. In my experience, there's no amount of study and reasoning that will undermine the Church's claims. Science and any other topic when learned in their full context support, don't weaken, faith. Agree with your reference to Elder Renlund's talk. We need to marry faith and knowledge, revelation and experience. All those go hand in hand!

I never knew that about Martin Luther. There was no prophet on the earth in his day but he was inspired in some things like rejecting infant baptism. My guess is back then many were still blaming the Jews for the death of Jesus. Most Christians seem to have changed that sentiment after Hitler killed 6 million of them.

    • @orangemanbad

Jews did kill Jesus. And infant baptism isn’t a bad thing if you believe that baptism does what it claims to do.

Intellectualizing about the truth puts spirituality on hold. The crux of the matter as Elder Holland said many years ago, is what is the condition of our hearts?
If the enemies of the Church and the murmurers in the Church would spend their time examining themselves, they would see that there isn’t enough mortality to become what God wants them to be. If they would waste and wear out their lives serving the poor, the sick and the troubled they wouldn’t have time and energy to pursue the secondary issues.

If there are any failed prophecies then either it still is yet to come or he wasn't speaking as a prophet at the time. We believe prophets speak for God only when moved upon by the Holy Ghost. That means not all the time. Only 1 perfect person ever walked this earth...
Doctrine & Covenants 68:4 And whatsoever they shall speak when moved upon by the Holy Ghost shall be scripture, shall be the will of the Lord, shall be the mind of the Lord, shall be the word of the Lord, shall be the voice of the Lord, and the power of God unto salvation.

We all know what the kingdom of the devil does to the prophets of God. Slander and murder. Knowing almost nothing of the persecution and trials Joseph waded through for his entire adult life, and how for the love of Jesus and all mankind he persevered to restore the fullness of the gospel and kingdom of God to the earth, how could my response be anything but awe, gratitude and praise to the man?. If I judged to condemn the servant how will Joseph’s master judge me?. Jesus stands at the right hand of the Father ready to shortly judge the world. Joseph and his brethren the prophets stand at the right hand of Christ. David’s attitude and example of humility and repentance is the only right and safe way for us to go.

Nephi was pretty clear in two sections of his writings about trusting in the arm of flesh. This does not give a pass to anyone claiming to be a prophet. Do you have to accept the words of a man who professes to be a prophet in order to receive God? Let's check out the BoM: "O then, my beloved brethren, come unto the Lord, the Holy One. Remember that his paths are righteous. Behold, the way for man is narrow, but it lieth in a straight course before him, and the keeper of the gate is the Holy One of Israel; and he employeth no servant there; and there is none other way save it be by the gate; for he cannot be deceived, for the Lord God is his name."

This was an excellent discussion. After this I did more investigation into Calvin and Martin Luther and I appreciate this. The fruits of the gospel truly are good. Stephen Harper a church historian say “the church is cool, the church is good, and the church is true” and I love that. Society doesn’t get to decide what is good, God does and we will each make an accounting of our good and bad and I would never want to answer to those that I had kept from coming closer to God through the fullness of the gospel.

Interestingly, David needs a filter. Listening to him when you're interviewing him and guiding him produces far more valuable and insightful content than listening to his ramblings on his own channel.
Please glean anything important from his channel and bring it here (you're so good at editing, polishing and threading new story tapestries). Please assume we're not all consuming that content.
I'm still curious as to why he's in Australia and why he's living in his car. I'm still trying to reconcile that lifestyle to his depth of study and understanding. I'm also interested in where he sees his path forward going.

Ok. I see your Prophet and Apostles…so show me the Signs and Wonders that living Prophets and Apostles should be performing to show unbelievers their authority?
    (43. And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.)
Ex: Sound of rushing wind (2:2).
    Tongues of fire (2:3).
    Miraculous speech (2:4).
    Lame man healed (3:1-10).
    Building shaken (4:31).
Sudden death of Ananias and Sapphira (5:1-11).
Imprisoned apostles freed by angel (5:17-21).
Philip transported from desert to Azotus (8:40).
*In the 50+ years I’ve been associated with the LDS church, I have yet to see anything other than a strongly worded opinion - from Kimball to Nelson.
There’s a reason why Prophets and Apostles are in “Name only” in the Mormon Church.
PS: I respect your right to believe in whatever you wish, but there’s no need to be an “Anti-Christian” bro.
And there is one core belief that unites ALL denominations of the “true” Christian faith…the knowledge that “Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life” and the only way to the Father!
