      As long as you make sure that the CDJ's are not the 3000 series that you bring your own gear that you know is reliable and it's anything other than Pioneer, Rekord Box and you have two on site backups and one off site in Drop box, One Drive and Google Cloud

    YES!!! This is spot on; I think it would surprise everyone how many professional producers glaze over de-noising, mouth-noises, declicking and gating!
    It becomes extremely difficult (still do-able loosely) to manage these upstream in mastering.

    The best vocal tutorial on youtube. You are far better than me but i was surprised that i actually adapted this same workflow over the years. But i really wish i could have known this a decade ago, when i had no clue what i was doing.
    I am really glad that this channel exists. i understand that its probably more for intermediate producers but thats exactly what youtube needs. Not another channel trying to explain music theory for beginners ^^ But the way you teach and how you edit your videos is just so good. wishing you lots of success!

    Why reaper is good is that you can cut the audio to clips and add effects to individual cuts without affecting the rest of the entire track. Item processing is what it’s called . This is in case of sibilance and correction eq

    Nice thing you can do with AI voice is using it for harmony (if you don't have real harmony). You just create your harmony using melodyne (or any equivalent) and then you use that pitched voice with a different voice model, that way you don't have the formant/pitching effect you usually get with "fake" harmony.
    It can get even better if you can train a model with the singer you work with (or your own voice if you're the singer) :)

    • @Alice-Efe
      @Alice-Efe  6 місяців тому

      I hope they will have "harmonize" option in the future. So we can get different harmonies of a single take. Also maybe simple option to adjust the melodies like a MIDI. That would be super cool as well.

    Hello Alice! This channel is a diamond in UA-cam! Just one question, my pads and reverbs are always sucking in mono, i tried everything (phase flipping, diffetent eq etc) and i dont get my pad and reverb sound good in mono, in my tracks. Like many frequencies is lacking when im summing into mono. Whats the solution for this problem? Im really confused. Thank you for reply! 😊

    I was kind of surprised at how much of a phase issue there still was with the AI generated backing vocals. Any tips for mitigating that a little bit?
    I'm thinking maybe EQ each to highlight their character and maybe add a little extra haas delay for more stereo separation?

    An odd question (that I'm sure you're too busy for): In this example you seem to be processing the vocal track almost as though it's an instrument (optimizing for a "perfect" sound), how would you handle a kind of "dirty" vocal where you want the imperfections to be present for a kind of emotional expression? The example I'd give would be Ben Harper's (live) version of Sexual Healing.

    • @Alice-Efe
      @Alice-Efe  6 місяців тому +2

      No worries!
      It depends on the purpose. If I need it to be more dynamic like a live audio, I would go for gentle vocal riding with gentle compression and avoid maximizing all together.
      If I want something more like "techno"vocals then I would double down on saturation/distortion with extra creative FX.
      If I want it to keep it natural; I would probably avoid too much corrective EQ to keep the room color or the imperfections with the recording.
      So you just need to figure out which step in the workflow you want to alter depending on the style that you are going for.
      Hope this clears out a little bit,
