This NEEDS to not only be one of the greatest Biopics EVER, this needs to be a culturally significant film for the ages
I don't want the movie to be good, great, or one of the greatest; I want this movie to be THE GREATEST biopic of all time. Period. It's Michael Freaking Jackson, he deserves to be above the GREATS.

I'm sure Kat Graham is gonna do amazing in the movie. She's a great actress and an amazing singer so portraying Diana Ross is perfect for her. Kat has gone through so much in this industry that I think she deserves to be in a role where she will finally (more than likely) be recognised for her talent and respected behind the scenes. I'm just so happy for her.
Kat Graham is incredible, I've been a fan since The Vampire Diaries, I'm sure people will be upset like usual, but the casting has been carefully done and has been spot on so far. I hope she gets more attention and recognition when the biopic comes out.

It would be epic if the film was to switch at the credits to a remastered 4K performance of real Michael in concert that kept everyone in the auditorium there.
The estate also needs to have some product ready to go on the release of this as people will be interested in purchasing - remastered 4K concert / the key performances in the film ready to go remastared (MTV performance / Motown 25 etc on DVD - streaming 4K platform). Enjoyed this streamed episode.
They need to put out the damn Triumph and Victory tours on DVD….and one of the shows that’s never been seen before.

For me the top 3 performances would be Motown 25, Man in the Mirror, and The Jackson 5 Who's Lovin You on Ed Sullivan. Heal the World is my personal favorite to see him perform though.
I took my nephews to Toys R Us. That location is where the old KMart in Burbank used to be.
As to the last question, I hope they use Michael's voice, because I don't care how well someone can sing, no can sing like MJ . His voice was so unique, and so distinctive!

I still think that this musical drama biopic film should just get distributed by just Universal Pictures 🌍. Not Lionsgate for unknown reasons.
I really hope they add all of MJ’s songs like Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough, Rock With You, Billie Jean, Beat It, Thriller, I Just Can’t Stop Lovin’ You, Bad, Dirty Diana, Smooth Criminal, Man In The Mirror, Speed Demon, Give In To Me, Heal The World, Jam, Black or White, Remember The Time, Ghosts, Blood On The Dance Floor, and You Rock My World, including the ones when he was a member of the J5 when he was a kid like I Want You Back, ABC, The Love You Save, Dance Machine, Got To Be There, Ben, and when he was a teenager and was still a member of The Jacksons like Enjoy Yourself, Blame It On The Boogie, and Shake Your Body Down To The Ground.
Wish and hope that they add the scene where his hair got on fire while he was filming the Pepsi Commercials,

I also wish that the film could get moved to August 2025 in time for what would’ve been the late legendary King of Pop’s 67th Birthday.

I’d love to see if he ever did perform some of the songs that didn’t make it to tour performances like if he performed PYT or Liberian Girl. Because he definitely did rehearse more songs that didn’t make it to tour performances.

I don't know if Miles would have been better because I remember reading an interview from the director. Talking about searching and I think he had been auditioning people for Michael and I think he was hanging with the family and I guess he started seeing that Jaafar had the same mannerisms as Michael. So I don't even think Jaafar was planning on auditioning or playing him it just happened it seems like lol. And I am thinking that they probably talked about it and since they are protective of his legacy and it seems hard to find people to play him they went with it. I believe he said he was watching him for two years or auditioning people for two years I can't remember.
Ok so I have to say that Quincy did get Rod Temperton to write a few of Michael's hits, BUT it is important to acknowledge that it is stated a lot that they had to pick abt 10 songs out of 200 songs that Michael ALREADY had written before the album was finalized. So I have to disagree with @mjj_anonymous's opinion abt MJ not having as may successful hits. And I know it's his opinion, but Quincy didn't even want to put Billie Jean on the album, & that was Michael's bread and butter there. MJ also wrote the 'girl is mine' and 'Beat it', 'Liberian Girl', 'Dirty Diana'... basically most of the 'Thriller' and 'Bad' albums & half of 'OTW' but Michael was stuck in a contract w/ QJ that made him get a power trip, which forced poor Michael to give him too much credit where it wasn't due. God bless Rod Temperton, I LOVE him for the Thriller song more than anything, but had MJ not stood up for himself enough, Quincy almost would have RUINED Michael's entire work. My opinion... I think ppl need to start looking into what kind of guy QJ REALLY was.. and still is. I know everybody is entitled to their opinions, but in times like these, more than ever, it's important to look into the backgrounds of the ppl riding off on Michael's fame. -- Like QJ, Oprh, W.R., J.S. and so many others. LOL I'll shut up now, LOVE what u guys do! Blessings to y'all & your kiddo.
By the way. It was another executive who was working for Motown films sold to Berry Gordy the ideal of Michael to play the Wiz. At the time MICHAEL was no longer signed with Motown. His audition killed it.

I enjoyed this video so much and I totally agree with what you said about Halle Bailey playing the role of Janet that would be so awesome oh and her sister Chloe her sister Chloe could play Latoya that would be so awesome too cuz I've been supporting both of them for like a year now and I love Chloe and Halle and I always said if Disney ever does a real life Pocahontas Chloe's got to play that role I feel like she would be great for that role
For as much as I'm looking forward to the music/performance aspect of this film. I'm more interested in MJ the business man which is wbat in my opinion will make this film standout.

As a lifelong MJ fan, I would have to say I'm not looking forward to the biopic. I sense it will be focused on recreating things about MJ's life we already know and things we've seen time-after-time. A better effort would be to create something that gives perspective into MJ's psychological make-up; the genius, the work ethic, and the crazy side of him. But like Thriller 40, I'm sure the biopic is being made for the new generation which means we'll get a whole lot of regurgitation.

Anther fun fact is that the letterman jacket people keep saying is being worn in the wrong era is incorrect... MJ wore that red & yellow letterman from the thriller video all the way to the bad era even when he'd perform thiller on that tour he'd wear it sometimes.
I went and watched the video you referred me to and there still wasn't a reference to the photos that leaked and showed the young boy in darker face makeup and an Afro despite the boy not being black....they cast this young boy to play younger Michael as a boy when Michael was a young black boy, not a mixed biracial or ambiguous boy. I strongly disagree with this casting choice in this movie because I find it disrespectful and ignorant. It looks like a mockery to me. They could have easily tried to find an actual young, talented black boy to portray young Michael as a boy in the movie. Not someone who is of a whole different race with different features that are not black.

I honestly don’t understand the casting choice either but I am assuming he did really well in the audition. I do wish that they had found a darker skin black boy to play Michael. I have not seen the photos to confirm what kind of makeup he is wearing, but I guess we will see. Thank you for sharing your perspective on this-- I think many agree.

First off, I respect y'all opinion on this issue, but to me, as a Black man, it isn't that big of a deal. Mainly because this is what Hollywood does & has mainly always done. Now, I agree with you about there most likely being a plethora of talented young Black actors who could've played young Michael, but for some reason this young actor impressed the producers & MJ's family(who are involved) the most. Please just trust the process & wait until we see the final version(the actual movie). Imo, the colorism thing is a little over-rated in terms of actors portraying a character in a movie. Most times, the actors have little to no actual resemblance to the actual characters they portray(w/o make-up), but they still have delivered great performances. Also, this young actor is a young man of color(we are not fully sure of his full ethnic background as of yet) & I just ask for all to give him a fair chance/criticism in this role. In closing, for me, the portrayal is way more important than the actor doing the portraying. Regardless of who plays young Michael, he will be portrayed & made to resemble a young Black kid, as Michael, himself, was a young Black kid.

Even if you are biracial or mixed race….If you don’t have the same features or racial identity or ethnicity of the character role that you’re portraying, then you should not take on that portrayal. I think this is wrong and I’m sticking to my perspective and opinion. And for that matter I will not be supporting the making of this movie about Michael Jackson. I don’t have to reserve my judgment or opinion on this since they’ve already shown their ignorance in choices in the casting and that’s enough for me to not agree or support the movie.

Dangerous 1995 VMA performance
Alot of biopics have been disappointing me lately, not one has hit the way Ray Charles, Ali, Jacksons American dream, temptations, new edition, Bobby Brown, what’s love got to do with it etc etc
I just hope with this one will be done right, cause MJ’s life was extraordinary.
Btw, that toys r us building hit me in the childhood feels, cause I took my first walking steps as a baby in toys r us, and the fact that it got shut down due to electronics is a travesty and it breaks my heart.
I'm not interested in any Iconic performances but the ultimate one.The Motown performance. That performance usurped all performances from Michael. Motown 25 will always be one of the most integral events for his career. So if Jaffar comes close to the zealous ambition he had that night. I will be fine. Most people who try to emulate Michael's movement which is basically a combination of Sammy, Fred Astaire, James Brown, Jackie Wilson, Gene Kelly, Jeffrey Daniel, Bob Fosse, any Los Angeles street Locker and Popper Motown group choreography...to name a few .Homogenized to fit his own unique delivery since he arrived on the scene. Is not easy to assimilate. So my expectations are realistic It's capturing the essence of the man and his unique story. The likes of which we will never see again
In the 70 and for growing up, La Toya was more important for MJ as she hang out with him as older sister. They lived together in New York, went clubbing, earlier they went on as Jehovas Witnesses to sell books ect....so JANET was not a part of Mike in growing up, so i think Janet will not have a big part in the movie
I don’t want it to be a spectacle movie say, I want it to have depth, character investment, as to humanize Michael. Yes he was the greatest and Guinness record Most successful entertainer of all time (should be in movie), but he was human. And when you put someone as just a great artist and focus on the spectacle, you lose the empathy. Make it grounded and humanize him.
I saw on you tube, that MJs first girlfriend should play a role and not Diana Ross in this movie.

@@MJFANGIRLTV Why is that? As for me, I think so, because it’ll go more into Michael’s solo stuff and his life post Jackson 5, but still will cover a good bit of the J5 era. The producer said it’ll be a lengthy movie, so I think both sections will get equal time.
