The author either has less self awareness than the average 8 year old, or is just a straight misandrist who thinks it's acceptable for women to do things that are abhorrent when a man does it.
Also as a 16 year old girl saying that if a woman abuses a man is "girlbossing" is completely wrong. Nobody deserves abuse NOBODY. It's already hard enough for men to confirm they've been abused by a woman to the police and it's also infuriating seeing these type of creators normalizing male abuse.
As a 15 year old, agree. Although there isn't many, I'm glad that some children who uses webtoon at least knows what's wrong and right. I mean, I didn't even know this existed until it popped up in my recommendations. I've only been reading fluffs. Imagine the ones who're naive enough to to believe this?? The whole girlbossing thing is getting on my nerves, cause if your nice, quite, feminine, well mannered, and doesn't indulge hardcore physical activity you're considered 'pick me' or 'traditional' and 'not women empowering' When most of the readers are probably girls reading in the corner of their rooms. I just hope they'd come to their senses and ignore this, move on and find better, age appropriate, life teaching moral story... The adult life isn't something we should rush to see and make assumptions 😔😔😔
I've seen social experiment. 2 actors (man and woman) went onto the street, when man was yelling at woman people reacted quickly. When woman yelled at man and even got physical nobody did anything
While I think there's some grain of truth in the idea that men generally "should" be "tougher" than women, in the sense of not easily getting upset over very small things, the idea has definitely become twisted and harmful to the point where it stops men from seeking help for their problems. Men, like all human beings, have emotions and will have bad days, and if society tells them that the only acceptable ways of expressing that are violence and alcoholism, well, guess what happens?
That's how I read it at first but it annoyed me that she's so OP and nothing actually made her struggle and then I found out the artist is a predator, dropped it like it's hot immediately

The Princess's Jewels would highkey be an amazing set up for a fantasy dystopia where only the beautiful are even allowed to exist. And because the princess is so shallow she naively thinks a beautiful world is better than an ugly one. But then again this idea would require the creators to use their brain instead of their hormones.
What annoyed me the most is that despite her “jewel” collection, she gets with this noble who used to be fat and evil. But now he’s skinny and evil, and all of a sudden she wants to have sex with him. She ends up neglecting her “jewels”, and her new boy toy is actively threatening them as well. I kid you not, this is where the story left off.
You know, I've written a female character very similar to this protagonist. She is the villain who owns a cult based around eugenics and survival of the fittest.
The Aja O. comment almost made me goddamn throw up. Why are they so disgusting? How is it that they don’t even know they’re staring at sexual harassment?
Usually when a princess is about to get married to a fat guy, they usually make him a creep and someone that does awful stuff to women, or that the princess love someone else, making him unfavorable in comparison. But this one is like, look he's fat, so ugly ugh. Nobody would ever want him. It infuriates me that young teen girls read this. And expects relationships like this when its actually toxic af.
The former isn't any better, can't they just not make the fat guy her marriage candidate and tell her to screw off if all she care about is his money or how he might look when he isn't fat
The anime show "Konosuba" did a fun subversion of this trope, where a fat, ugly nobleman took away a character from the main cast... to arrange a marriage between her and his handsome gentleman of a son.

I know they're not real, but I'm really worried about those poor men. Especially the blue-haired guy (I don't know anyone's names). The fact that he was FORCED into this just seems so rapey to me. I wish that all the princes could be free, and treated with the love and respect they deserve as human beings. 😢 I think if any character was to call out the princess, it would have to be another woman. That way they wouldn't be able to use the double-standard to shut her up so easily.
She'd just play the "YOU'RE JUST A VICTIM OF INTERNALIZED MYSOGYINYYY!" card, which is a thinly veild translation of "I DON'T WANT TO TAKE YOUR VOICE INTO ACCOUNT BC U DISAGREE WITH ME!"
The villains of the story brought the subject up during the banquet. Saying how her collecting men like pokemon cause many noble ladies doing the same and how she should be a better model for them. What she said back? She told her brother off that he should create his own harem or at least find a marriage candidate first. You can find this scene in chapter 20

The Ancient Magus Bride is not a good example to use in this video. For 1 thing Chise is not Elias's slave. He bought her simply because she wa being sold and that was the only way to free her eithout making an issue. Then she is freed. He doesn't treat her like a slave and she isn't bound to him. The only shackles attached to Chise are the metaphorical ones due to the nature of her being and her past that lead her to be sold. The reason she stays is because she doesn't have a reason to leave and lacks self worth and the story goes on with her finding her way and choosing what she wants to do and staying with Elias and the Silver Lady and Ruth because she sees them as her family and new home. So attaching THAT story to this is apples and oranges to be honest

If I suddenly started acting like an asshole to people, I would want them to call me out on it just as they would with any man who was acting like an asshole. This is the same thing people thought in regards to the Netflix movie "Cuties", that because the director was a black woman with Muslim heritage, it totally justifies her to sexually abuse and exploit eleven year old girls. That basically told me one thing: if she were a white man, she would've been arrested on the spot but because she was a black woman everyone completely overlooked the crimes she committed!
This is way too bad in courts, where in divorces then woman always gets full custody, houses, and stuff like that, while the man is left with nothing. Rape Crimes as well, where female convicts get light sentences while men are lucky to get anything that isn’t life, let if they actually did it or not when they are accused of that despite their being zero evidence yet the man still goes to jail for life. The system is way to biased against men.

You know there’s a very simple way to make this comic less repulsive - just cut the slavery bit and have the main character just go around having sex with a bunch of dudes. Consensual sex between adults. That’s it. And at the end of each one night stand, the dudes give her a jewel to remember them by. You can even give her a sympathetic backstory of being held to high standards as a member of the royal family, and even more so as a woman in a male dominated society. And by having sex with all these guys, she’s getting the closest thing to a normal relationship she’s ever had. She’s not some political pawn or some delicate dainty flower. In these men’s eyes, she is a woman, a sexual being. There, problem solved. The readers can have their cake and eat it too. EDIT: Ftr, I am a sex-repulsed asexual, and I still managed to come up with a better harem story then whoever wrote this trash. The author has no excuse.
@@orrorsaness5942 make the slaves plan a way to escape and overthrown the nobles and turn this sad excuse of a broken toilet in an abandoned house into an actually interesting thing
The thing that annoys me the most, is when people say it's revenge for oppression "we" went through. They grew up, heard how it used to be, shoved the label onto themselves, justifying it using biases they've experienced and call it justice. Biases here and there because they do happen, usually representative of a group or situation or expectation that is not supported or represented by the rest of the world, except maybe expectations. Most importantly what they've experienced is barely comparable to what use to happen, but they stick that suffering card onto their chest anyway.
This is exactly the reason why I was never interested in feminism despite being a woman. I don't mind it, but...I genuinely can't begin to care when I was never discriminated for being a woman. In fact I was probably more discriminated due to my physical appearance, or that I was part of the middle-class. I also never saw examples of women actually being oppressed real-time; My mom is just as respected as my dad in her field of work (which is being an engineer), all my other female relatives have working jobs that aren't stereotyped to be for women, they all seem satisfied with their pay, and not a single one of them complained about men. The only thing I've experienced is the gist about sexual assault, yet even then that shouldn't be exclusive towards women. Yes, it happens to women more often, just as how physical assault would happen more often towards men, but that isn't to disregard the fact that it can happen to men as well, just as how physical assault happens to women too.
I second that! Even if it stays as a personal comic or something, I'll support you on it! But one question: what about the red headed one, has he been in the story yet?

I mean, I don't like Redo of Healer as much as the next guy......but at least the protagonist has an actual reason for being a piece of shit. He was enslaved, drugged, raped, used, abused, lost his everything and ended up snapping, aka going insane. He is bonkers and doesn't care what happens to him afterwards, he just wanted to inflict every punishment and misery that was inflicted on him back at his abusers. But even so, he struggles to never lay a finger on anyone who hasn't done anything to him.....so at least he can be better than the "heroes" who did this to him. This chick was born with a silver spoon on her mouth and lived a cushy life as a princess.....and believes she is entitled to everything she wishes. She reminds me of Flare from Redo of Healer
Plus we literally are being shoved in the face to not like him because he is an ass. The other characters are asses but some are just really nice people but MC is just a total shitbag. If he dies a horrible death in the ending then good
I actually think Flare is better than the main girl in this webcomic because in Redo of Healer's light novel Flare is given a backstory that makes her behavior more understandable, but doesn't try to justify it. In one of the extra chapters, it's shown that even though Flare was the daughter of the Jioral King, she had very little status because her mother was a "service woman" which resulted in her living on the streets for some time and her older half siblings, whose mothers were noble women, would torment her because of her low status. This even went as far as the siblings poisoning and killing Flare's mom just to spite her. When Flare awoken to the power of mage hero, she gained a lot of power in the nobility because she was had the hero class and she was daughter of the King. Using that power she banished all of her siblings from the Jioral kingdom (except Norn who wasn't part of Flare tormentors and had a similar background to Flare's, they were actually quite close). Flare ultimately developed a hatred for commoners because they reminded her of how she used to live and she doesn't want to be reminded of that time and abused Keyaru to prove to herself that she was the one in power. I found this backstory surprisingly good and it gave me a better understanding of Flare's motives, but I can still say Flare got what she deserved in the end because she chose to inflect pain and trauma on an innocent person.
@Rolen Brown Uh, so it is a vicious circle of abuse and broken people coping, in horrible ways, after being pushed to the brink. The rest of the heroes don't have backstories that explain why they are pieces of shit.....do they?
@@garreonlefay6703 As far as I know Flare's the only one with a backstory. I need to read more of the light novel since the anime adaptation leaves out these detail that make the characters more interesting.
Hey can you make a video on “sadistic beauty”? Once a friend recommended me to read one of it’s side stories and I accidentally read the main one and…. Man, it is one of the most infuriating stories you can ever read. Just like the princess’ jewels the story is centered around a really unlike able female character who also has a harem. she always acts toxic towards ‘her lovers’ and even r*pes some of them! The worst part about it is the fact that the author expects us to cheer for her and praise her for being such an independent woman! Im 100% sure that if the main character was a man this story would be torn apart by the others and its an unfortunate that NO ONE is talking about it…
OMG THIS!!! I once hoped this manhwa would somehow get better, as it had potential to go in the right direction, but nowadays I don't want to hear anything about it. Not only it is a burning trashcan of a comic (very beautiful-looking though, props to the artist) , but is also full of incredibly wrong and awful BDSM "representation". And the fact that the author painted my man Minho as some sort of bastard when he is THE VICTIM and big part of fandom treats him the same + there are rumors that this character is based off some real person from author's life is terrifying, this shit NEEDS to be addressed
HONESTLYYY I've been hate reading sadistic beauty and its side story and it's a good way for me to get worked up BAHAH I feel so bad for Minho, like he's a piece of shit sure, but he wasn't even given the chance to redeem himself-- even after everything he went through. Meanwhile Dunna and her enabler bf got away with whatever tf they're doing scott free The art is very pretty though and ngl I was very attracted to Dunna at first, but her personality sucks ass lol
Just read the side story about Minho due to your comment..... I'm gonna gorge my eyes out what the actual hell was that- It was legitimately one of the most horrifying things I have read in my life. I understand that people hated Minho (though he was a complicated person), so I decided to make up a really unlikeable character who did some of the same things as him (but not anything worse), and then I put this OC in his place in order to see how I'd feel about seeing him get treated the way he was, and......yeah, nobody deserves that shit. Especially in a webcomic where most of the characters are basically serial r*pists, and the supposedly "worst character" who "deserved punishment" was the one whose worst crimes were stealing (then again, he did have some financial issues), plagerism, and being KINDA an asshole (though it was slightly understandable given his past). He actually protected one of his students from getting assaulted by the MC, from what I've heard, so he honestly has higher standards than most of the characters we are supposed to root for. And yet the only character who gets an extreme amount of "punishment" for their actions is the one who is arguably the LEAST terrible character, and a punishment that no one on earth deserves. And even if it was, his actions weren't NEARLY bad enough to warrent something so violent. I also heard that the author thought that he completely deserved it and his abuser should get more sympathy, but that Minho was also based off of a real person, so that's extra messed up. In conclusion, fuck Sadistic Beauty, fuck Woongyung, and fuck the author for making something so messed up whilst trying to justify and excuse literal graphic r*pe (Sorry this is so passionate, I literally just finished reading that disturbing mess)
I remember seeing that on toonliy, and read the description, I normally go to the most fucked up story like red light, honey trap, Venus guy trap, and predatory art. That's the problem with these types of comics. So many stories establish that as long as she's a woman, and she's hot, she can get away with anything. Stories like 365 Days, The Kissing Booth, Fifty Shades of Grey, hell even Twilight to a degree have all established that all you need to appeal to young teenagers is a pair of hot, sexy guys & gals. It doesn't matter if what they're doing portrays them as morally bankrupt or generally detestable, as long as they are hot, they can do whatever and get away with it. Any story that relies on this AT ALL automatically checks the terrible box for me. A person should not be vindicated of their bullshit attitude and general crimes against humanity because they are good looking.
365 Days - our personality-less protagonist is kidnapped by a Italian criminal, but that's okay because he is hot The Kissing Booth - the brother of our personality-less protagonist's best friend is clearly an aggressive, emotionaly unstable dude, who literally smacked his own car, startling the protagonist, while demanding and screaming to her to get in, but that's fine, he is hot Fifty Shades of Grey - WTF is going on with Christian Grey? Pretty sure that no one who is normal and is into BDSM acts like that.
I disagree about showing The Ancient Magus Bride as an example of "slave girl" anime/manga, as no, IIRC she's not a slave after Elias gets her. Like, she's freed immediately after, and willingly stays. I admit, I had the same reservations too just knowing of the premise, but I buckled down and actually watched it, and it's good overall. Not perfect, but still good. Alright. Continuing the video now. Had to bring that up. Sorry for interrupting.
Yeah that wasn't the best example he could have given, especially because Elias isn't the main character, he's male lead and mentor. It's not a power fantasy or anything like that, so it's a weird choice. I personally would have done death march as an example (which he shows a picture of) since that fit his description a lot more.
I was pretty surprised too after he mentioned the Ancient Magus Bride as a comparison to The Princess' Jewels... Because it's really not. Sure if you watched it in the first episode it is the 'slave getting rescued by a hero' thing but it'll make much more sense as you continue to watch it to find out the reason. (It's a good anime too. I definitely recommend.)

@@am-ranth8955 Pretty much. The funny thing is that ever since I thought of this character concept I haven't been able to stop thinking about and practically began fleshing out the character in my noggin. So this guy just lives out in the woods, living a life as a sort of hermit druid - only he's actually rather young looking compared to other ones. The guy chills in the woods settling disputes between rivalling factions in it, both in terms of animal and monster disputes. Heck, the forest dwellers seem to respect him as an individual - and doesn't take advantage of said respect and admiration *like a certain character that is mentioned in the video*. Besides this he helps keep safety between man and forestdweller when the two begin to collide, such as collaborating with lumberjacks with cutting down trees in areas with few inhabitants in the area and doesn't hold vast importance to the woodlanders. As you might guess with him being a druid, he is capable of talking to beasts of any shape and size - including those of the more monstrous variety. Eventually, little miss slaver catches word of the guy and sets out to try and claim him; thinking her charms will work on him. She gets there, and the guy is everything he was described to be. She speaks of coming back to the kingdom with her, with him at first thinking she purely wished to broker an alliance between man and the beasts of his home. He then picks up what she wished to do when she began to get all over him, touching him in areas he didn't wish to be touched. From this, he turns down the offer, and politely asks her to leave. She refuses to do so and continues to harass the man until he demands her to leave. It wasn't already noted beforehand, but the man had some of his woodland friends nearby that he was tending to when her, her guards and "harem" (more like a Stockholm Syndicate) showed up. She motioned to one of the guards to yank one of the creatures onto the ground and put a knife to its neck. Two more guards point their weapons at him to keep him from rushing to their aid. She threatens him with killing his friend, telling him she'll let them live if he gives himself to her. But here's the thing... Before the guy went into a life of hermitage, he was a soldier. And not just any run-of-the-mill soldier -- he was one of the deadliest ones to exist out there. Men turned heel when he came out from amongst the approaching wave of enemies. He grew tired of this life, became weary of the nightmares that followed him from the battlefield into his sleep. So he then laid down his arms, wishing to realign himself both physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. From this time he spent redefining himself amongst those of his current home, he finally found peace and let go of the inferno that had engulfed him many years before. But old embers can still be rekindled when giving the right starter. He stepped forward, breaking in half the arm of one of the guards that tried to attack him. He caught the weapon of the now screaming guard, using it pierce this one's jugular and slicing open the second's neck before embedding it in the third's skull. Her harem began to move forward, but even unarmed and rather rusty he proved a dangerous foe to take on. Sensing they were being held against their will, he aimed to take a non-lethal approach due to their predicament. What the man doesn't know is that the princess has moved towards the hostage, pressing blade to its neck before cutting it open. The man stood there slack-jawed. She tells him he forced her hand. The man's once calm demeanor fizzled out as he watched the light fade away from his friend's eyes. What grew inside him he thought had been buried away for good - but nay... The trees began to sway as the birds and sounds of the woodland ceased. All that surrounded was a dense and ever-deafening silence. She looked back at the man, who now truly sparked fear into her. The man made no sounds, no incantations, no somatic components - yet the forest behind him stirred and shifted like the decrepit dream of a madman. Vines sprung forth from the earth like arms of the dead grasping for anything to pull on. The roots shot at her quicker than any arrows or weapons seen in their kingdom - tough like rods of iron as the pierced the stone boulder behind her. She and her harem and what remained of her guard began to run back from which they came. As they ran, she could hear the yelps and cries for help of her guards as they were dragged away screaming into the underbrush. She turned back and no longer saw the man, seeing him now right beside the path they ran as if he were a phantom. More vines and roots shot from everywhere in the forest, aiming for prey to grab and carry away. They managed to escape the forest, with only her harem managing to escape with her. The man stood at the entrance to the forest. Staring at her with eyes that burned like the coals of the pyre with hate colder than a steel blade. He disappeared into the shadows of the forest, thick plant-life emerging from the edge of the forest to keep anyone from coming in. She came back to her castle, seeing it as nothing more than a minor setback - all up until workers came back bloodied or in giblets from the forest sites. Each claimed they were attacked by all manner of creature, one of them stating his eyes were taken by a red squirrel. What she had done, was declared war with not only a skilled combatant and killer, but one with a strong hold on the arcane of the natural world. Her thoughts were interrupted by a sound outside. Her face grew pale as she noticed what she was hearing was the beating of many wings. Wings that weren't the wings of songbirds and geese. They were the wings of griffons, and behind them she could see the silhouetted shadow of massive flying beast...
That was quite an engaging and gripping story of yours. I also love the amount of detail, that you put in describing both the environment and actions of the characters. And the backstory of your character was interesting to read about.😊
@@redrasegarden you should, MC just breaks gender stereotypes and standards in a good way, also the ML is such a cinnamon roll, they're such a good pair
20:24 - 20:48 Don't compare us to them. The Sonic Fanbase had a helluva year last year when we got Sonic Frontiers, a legit GOOD Sonic game. The Sonic Fanbase has plenty of standards, some of them might be severely mixed up, but the fanbase in general has a higher standard of quality than you give them credit for. Please don't compare us to a bunch of prepubescent, stupid teenage girls reading semi-romantic smut on a webcomic site.
Exactly. As a Sonic Fan, I prefer to have a higher standard of quality as well and constantly wish for the best that the franchise can offer because it’s proven that it can create very good and inspiring things. I want it to always try its best to reach for high quality instead of settling for mediocrity. Fans have been getting more critical and watchful of Sonic so that it doesn’t have to settle for less nor repeat past mistakes.
I was a Sonic fan in the '90s, but I've kept an eye on the series sense. Instead of gladly eating crap, when Sega pushes out a turd, the fan base generally isn't happy. They complain, they give constructive criticism, they try to tell Sega what parts they like and what they don't. When a banger game comes out, they celebrate it, play it over and over, mod the hell out of it, and hope and beg for more like that. And, they also make fangames. There's a lot of amateurish crap, but while us Metroid fans have one good complete fangame in AM2R and a couple of decades of clunky aborted messes with the occasional promising but short abandoned demo thrown in, Sonic has multiple high quality complete fan works. There's AIR which is a remake of 3 and Knuckles, probably the most beloved in the series, with several improvements and new features on top of a game already considered peak Sonic by many that I've heard it referred to as hands down the definitive version of S3&K. Another is a 16 bit remake of Sonic Triple Trouble for Game Gear, a title I thought I was the only one that really loved. New stage layouts, cutscenes, special stages, playable characters, ingame cutscenes that seem like a natural progression and evolution form S3&K, and an epic new true final boss for those that have all of the emeralds like what S3&K did turned up to 11, balancing between remaining true to the source material while not being held back by it. Sonic Genesis, the awful, ugly, laggy, downright unplayable port of the original Genesis game to GBA? It didn't take long for fans to build a proper port that runs properly on the GBA and doesn't sacrifice the graphical effects like parallax backgrounds. And I've got to mention Project '06, which while I think is still in the works, takes on the herculean task of taking the worst game in the series, one of the worst games of all time, released rushed, unfinished, and buggy, and tries to fix it up into something genuinely fun and functional, though sadly there's just no fixing that story. I've heard that even Sonic Mania was developed at least in part by people that got their start in fan games. While I don't know how much of this is true when I mention it I often hear it referred to as "the one made by the fans." It is also very highly regarded and pointed to as proof that the classic Sonic games are good after all, as a counterpoint to those who claim that the series was never good and those who like the Genesis games are just nostalgia blind. I'm sure there are plenty more examples. I lost interest in the series around the time it jumped to 3D, but I do follow some streamers that are Sonic fans that have showcased fan projects and filled me in on a lot, and I've witnessed a lot of the discourse firsthand just by being involved in gaming discussions over the years, including seeing how quickly fans were able to whip up a good port of Sonic 1 for GBA after Sega shit the bed with their attempt.
Give him a better outfit I'd willing to date that guy. As someone just kill time by speed reading the comic Apparently he's villain for having "snake looking eyes"? Or apparently is a snake to the protagonist being a so cute bun bun (vomits) Never explained or shown his villain side, the only being shown he really in love with MC and that's all. He manages to change his image but really wasted on that girl for real for real.
I’m afraid of growing up in a world where girls genuinely believe being a terrible human being is cool and that will inevitably bleed into stories and media. For all I know it’s already happening and I’m just learning of it.
im afraid of growing up in a world where boys are also believing that being a terrible human being is cool.Side note can we stop bringing gender into this shit like nobody should be a terrible person. We already have enough with statistics of men doing most of this repulsive shit yes women do it too but numbers don't lie....jesus christ...
Thing is, I could see this being a little good if the protagonist started out as the villain we see her now, but overtime, as she interacts with her "jewels" and sees her own behavior being displayed in front of her by different people, she realizes she's a piece of shit, lets her jewels go, and becomes a better person and a better empress that doesn't misuse her power. A nice villain-to-hero story. That story beat with the corrupt politician stealing girls and forcing them to be with him could have been a perfect wake-up call as he points out she's doing the same thing and is just as big of a villain as he is. After realizing her mistakes and letting go of the jewels, some could choose to stay with her because she actually helped them in some way, or they actually came to like her after she changed, now being her advisors and helping her to run the country instead of her slaves. Hell, I would make a plot point that she goes back to the plan of politically marrying the fat duke guy and realizing that he's an incredibly kind and sweet guy with some of the same interests as her, and she gets to learn the classic lesson of "looks aren't everything, it's what inside that counts." Unfortunately, this being wish fulfillment fantasy for horny teenage girls, I doubt the writers would ever do that. On that note, can webtoon comics stop bodyshaming people? Seriously, it's getting old. I know that these writers are from countries where "petite" body types are (supposedly) the majority, but come on, I think we should be past that petty bullshit by now. It's 2023, grow the fuck up. Not everyone has to look the god damn same or to some arbitrary standard. And no, just because it's directed at a man, it doesn't make it better or justified. I'm just as sick of the "small penis" jokes as any other guy out there. Can the new's years resolution for webtoons be to stop bodyshaming please???

I am so glad other people are discussing this webtoon. I remember how awful it was to read through it with all the gross aspects and the last straw was realizing one of the character's SA experience was likely going to be used as a plot device to push him toward "bonding" with the MC... the same character who was forced into her jewelry box... the whole thing is a dumpster fire and i hope readers come to realize how absolutely messed up the story and its elements are
The chubby dude is her fiancee and in the recent chapters he lost weight through magic and she is now head over heels for him. So basically its saying the only way for fat people to be love is to undergo to what is equivalent to surgery to change your looks. Yeah this webtoon is really terrible.
@@HarmonyHope7534 as someone who adores drawing and writing about bigger older men who don't get enough love, this fits right up my ally cause most of my main characters are just that lol if people would actually read and see my illustrations for the spin off the main character WITHOUT making him altra skinny and pretty in the future chapters I'll gladly do it^^
Wait but The Ancient Magus' Bride(15:11) never was a Harem, or some self insert fantasy. That was really deep and emotional fairytale about girl that lost all she had, and discovers new world of magic. With it good and bad sides. Things like control and slavery was NEVER a thing in this show. For god sake, Ellias(the male MC) dont even know what the love or marriage is! Jack if you gonna read this, please cut this part, or at least make a post about this. This anime is one of the RAREST good things in romance nowadays. Dont let it be thrown in same pile like the crap you showed earlier!
Yes please the manga and anime really made me feel the magic of the world and the guninune feelings of the characters and the growth of each character. The panel of the acution seems to be used alot to be lumped in with the slavery trope of most manga.

Here's an idea (though it might be dumb): What if there was a story about a group of unwanted bad guys who are attracted to a woman who has the patiences & kindness to tolerate them (no matter how rude, crude, or even ugly they are/were), and would do anything to change their motives & gain her love; especially one that has gotten close to the woman when she looked past his shabby appearances & open his heart? Sounds dumb and/or sappy, doesn't it?
Nah not sappy, just wholesome 🥺. Though it wouldn't work on places like webtoons cause if your bad boy/bad girl characters doesn't look like a sexy generic kpop model then your idea will be doomed to fail😒😤😔
Say what you will about cheesy harem anime but at least they make the attept at making the women their own people that chose to be with the guy of their own free will and treats them well.
Yoo, congrats on the first collab video, Jack! A special thanks to Dannphan for appearing in the video and giving her insight on the comic. You two did a great job together, and made the video double more entertaining! Hopefully you would do more collabs together again. I would be waiting for them! As for the comic itself, the analysis made me think back on the problem with Twilight, 50 Shades of Gray and all the other romance stories they spark. It seems that the big problem with them is that they all portray an unhealthy relationship as something to desire, all thanks to them showing the woman as an empowered and beloved.... even if the actual relationship she is in is extremely abusive and traumatic. This comic takes those Twilight- esce stories all up to 100, with the major twist on them by having the main girl be the abusive side. Unlike Twilight or 50 Shades were the main girl is the victim, here the girl is the one who chases down and abuses her partners, all for the sake of having her being in control of the relationship. Don't get me wrong, those stories are bad in BOTH ways. It's unhealthy for a romance story to show the main lead as being abusive, manipulative and power hungry piece of... horny B****, as it is to show them as the meek and innocent victim within the relationship. It's just that by making the lead being the abuser, things are a lot WORSE. when the lead is the victim, you can at least excuse it by saying that they might have not noticed all the red flags, and they got trapped by false pretenses and empty promises of their partner, all because they desired some sort of love and attention that much, that their sense of danger got shut off. Yet in here you cannot make ANY excuses, as the lead IS the one who manipulates her partners to be with her at all cost. If anything, it shows that manipulation is a great way to get someone to love you, and keep them around as your partner. And I'm really, REALLY SAD that I have to openly state that it's NOT. I'm really sick of this trope, as all it does is to give young girls the impression that it's okay to be an abusive and manipulative woman who takes control over the man in her life, and play around with them like your personal toys. This stories teach them that being Amber Heard type of """"girlboss""" is the right way to go all because of "female empowerment" and "breaking the patriarchy", all while forgetting that man are also people who should be respected and treated like the humans they are, and that relationships are built on MUTUAL respect and understanding of all sides involved (whether it's 2 people or more). And the biggest sin this story commits is that it basically tarnishes away the idea of being a girlboss itself, as it shows those girl bosses as extremely awful woman who get their way by the means of violence and bloodshed, by that making the whole idea of girlboss as a negative trope akin to the modern Mary Sue characters in media. I'm really sad and really disappointed that THIS is what young girls think good female character is, and like the S*** out of it as this comic just poison their minds and destroys all sense of what an actual good romance and good healthy relationship should be like.
This is such a giant pet peeve for me, like stomping on men as a woman does NOT mean it’s okay. It’s literally misandry, and we know damn well if the main girl was a male owning female slaves, it would be a whole different story. But it’s not, they’re both awful.
One of the MANY things that made me want to strangle the creators was the betrothed prince that's fatshamed. After he's publicly humiliated, he decides to work out and become fit so he'll be fit for marriage to the awful mc. Once he does that, surprise surprise, he's turned into a villain. The writers really said "We can't have ACTUAL CHARACTER GROWTH! We can't prove the naysayers right!! We have to prove that the princess and all her boy toys were RIGHT to shame this man for being fat, because he's just as ugly on the inside! Yeah!!" Disgusting. Not to mention how everyone in the comments was freaking out about how the prince dude forced a kiss on the princess and they were having a lynch rally in the comment section despite not mentioning anything about the princess' behavior.
Tbh I like Redo of A Healer because it's strictly about revenge of a guy he swore to complete because he was literally tortured by all of these psychos from kingdom. The worst thing is that people were pissed off when the guy started his harem, but when he was a just boy he got r4p3d by not only women but also by a man and that was absolutely okay? You have no idea how satisfying it was to watch the guy breaking the biggest bitch's fingers as she was begging him to stop. Maybe it's just me Idc.
Yeah I do hold some issues with that. Rarely do people talk about how the MC was mistreated both in his past life and present. But want him to have moral standards. It's called a dark character for a reason. And revenge will happen
As someone... that found the webtoon on pinterest while making boards... I hate-read that entire webtoon 3 times just to pick at it like unsavory food from a 1 star restaurant. It was just AWFUL, I was raging the entire time reading the comments of people being mad when others brought up the fact that she's pretty much seeing them AS GOD DAMN OBJECTS for her own weird hormonal satisfaction, the literal plot is just GET A HAREM OF HOT GUYS.... and how people just JUSTIFIED it as "Girlboss!" and so on... It's awful how much of a pretty artstyle when it comes to characters was used for this hot garbage, it was having a beautiful box for a shitty chocolate... But I still don't understand the anatomy in some parts.
They literally made the black man as burnt as possible 🤦🏾♀️. And of COURSE he has straight, dark brown hair. I’ve met people darker than this dude, but it was obvious from the hair that the author just race-swapped a white character.
@ the fatphobia part rn and i bet this crytear guy is 100x more interesting than all the other characters combined. that said, he looks cute and looks like he gives the best cuddles!!
I don't know if you've ever seen the anime Saiki K. There was this one female character, named Teruhashi and she was desirable to every boy in the show and want the attention, with the exception of the main character, Saiki, due to him having psychic powers, so he knows her intention. As a result, she sees him as a challenge to get him to admit in his own way, that he's attracted to her. Now I'm mentioning Teruhashi because while both do act like harlots, Teruhashi to give some credit to her, doesn't go out of her way to abuse or keep physically capture men for a harem.
I think inclusivity works best if the people represented are treated as people first. G.I Joe made all the way back in the 80s did it better. You got people of all races on both sides.
11:07 this panel sounded r*pey..... Sigh ok so chalupa reviewed this on his channel, he reviews webtoons you can go check him out!, he said he's pretty sure that we are following the main antagonist of this webtoon cause there's no way this girl is ok for what she's doing to this fine and upstanding men who i presume have families and certain promises that are supposed to be fulfilled to these families and she acknowledged that but still somehow remained selfish and took these men anyway. I remember a brilliant comment saying: "something about a pure white princess enslaving a group of culturely diverse men sounds very weird to me", a comment following says:" yeah not to mention the dark skinned one wears a collar and happens to be the only neko in the group". Yeah i think this author has some unresolved issues that needs to be fixed and not adapted into this disgusting monstrosity of a webtoon, it seems as if webtoon is allergic to good authors and good writing!.
I would say redo is way more justifiable bcs it’s never like we are supposed to like the mc, which I feel like is lost on people. Feels like people just think you are supposed to root for the mc when that really isn’t the case, unless of course they go with this story where they push it like that that. I mean it’s like mushoku tensei, no one really is supposed to like the mc for obvious reasons and the story doesn’t really try to do so when it comes to his character, just feels like FL type stories are just always adding in the most apparent aspects of a ML story and forgetting that the is an actual story to these things
I was the comment on 23:28 and I absolutely agree with this video now! I wrote the post the day that the webtoon dropped after only reading chapter one. Heck you can even see that I didn’t know the plot because I called him a prince when that wasn’t even his title. I’ve gone back to clarify last year that after reading the webtoon that I was disgusted and that I felt taken advantage of. I’m so grateful I found this video because it voices how I feel clearly.
Im glad you are talking about this. I've seen in many manhuas where if a female character does something bad or unnecessarily aggressive, mean or whatever, she gets praises and nobody sees anything wrong with it 🤷♀️
19:30 Holy crap! I'm not familiar with Webtoon but now that I know this is a "Webtoon Original" - a professionally funded project, holy cow. How has no one called this out? If this was some obscure DeviantArt or fetish comic, this would be one thing, but it's not. 24:24 And she seriously had a guy do the exact same stuff she does, only it's bad because the genders are flipped. Oh the irony. Great Video Jack! Thanks for collabing with Dannphan on this one!
The red haired prince in it when it introduces him he is like some murder machine and like really scary but when he means idiot princess he is like all cludly and soft etc and they just forget that he could kill millions like they just throw out whst they said about him out the window also the cretor makes thesee long introductions which I'm to lazy to read and the comments which supports the comic made me have a mental brake dwon

Why do little anime or manga with slavery just... free a slave? Like, the example you gave. Why, instead of having a scene in which the slaver mc just keeps the enslaved girl, make him take her cuffs and just say "Hey, you're free now. You can go." It'd lead to a small moment of confusion for the girl, who was mentally prepared to serve him but now is faced with freedom. It ultimately leads to her staying with him not as a slave, but as a friend; however, her mindset is still of a slave and not used to liberty, so she TREATS him like her superior and can't stand up for herself, which is a behavior confronted and dispelled in her arc with the help of the mc; meanwhile, the mc has his own struggles and she, with her supportive, subservient outlook, does her best to aid him. There is a way to make this right and... little of those pieces of media seem to want to try it. Who are the absolute weirdos fetishizing slavery?
The example shown doesn’t really fit how Jack is saying. In the anime (Ancient Magus Bride) he does remove her chains and he doesn’t even make her a slave. The story is more about the world and the main guy teaching the main girl about the world. Give the show a watch I promise it’s great.
Depends on the setting, for example if they are participating if a group(like demihumans, which are often slaves and marginalized in fantasy anime) then releasing the slave could have them simply reinslaved by someone else, of course not every setting has this excuse but it is a fair logical thought
@@thevorhandener5280 Still, if that's the case, can't he just take the girl with him and say "hey, you're free, but I think it's best you stick around"? Just... something to make it clear what he did wasn't to keep her enslaved intentionally. Even if they live a life in which her actions are comparable to a slave, but done out of her volition due to gratitude or interest or friendship, anything, it feels better for me than just "I'm keeping you in the leash, that's okay".
I kinda enjoy the new anime Maou Ore because the (new) 13th Demon King Zagan freed his elf wife-to-be and separated himself from her only to discover love and found a family with her and a surrogate daughter in the end. It’s wholesome.
I find it funny how the Female Character in this manhwa reminds me of the OG Villainess (before the reincarnation) in the manhwa "I fell into a Reverse Harem Game", where she literally makes every guy her concubine making her so distasteful. But the only difference was that after the Main Female Lead transmigrated in the Villainess' body she made everything right, even with how she handles the relationships within her harem. She neither forces nor harasses the men and instead freed them from the Villainess' grasps. And what's best was that even though the story still became a reverse harem with her ending up with 7 men, her relationships with them is still by far one of the best I've ever seen in the reverse-harem genre because of how well-written each and everyone of them, especially the Female Lead herself. You literally can ship her with any men in her harem without making other male lead less than the others.
This comic is worse than redo of healer. At least that story is honest about what it is: tourture porn for enjoyment as a guilty pleasure. Not as something acceptable, but as something that's enjoyable due to not being acceptable in the real world. It has an 18+ rating, and it expects its readers and watchers to understand that, even if they enjoy this, it is not acceptable to do this stuff irl, and the main character is not a hero for his actions. (BTW, that story was written by a woman.) This story on the other hand, thinks that everything happening in it is right.
Webtoons is really just Tumblr concerning a looooooot of the 'themes' of these comics but is a lot more predatory considering how they treat their paid creators.
Broken down to its base elements, Jack and Dannphan reveal the material to be shallow, and its powerful, unstoppable protagonist a villain using her abilities to fulfill her id's desire at the cost of those around her. In a strange sense, The Princess's Jewels could be seen as horror for this reason...
I think the saddest part of this is how people just blindly follow this, because it's nearly ALL WE GOT. This is the equivalent of seeing a group of starving people and giving them rat poison with sprinkles. They are THAT DESPRETE for food, that they'll thank you for giving them not EVEN something edible, but something to eat at all. It's honestly depressing and shows why GOOD representation is so important. The bar is in the center of the earth.
the episode that introduced the black dude in the toon should be called Django re-chained cuz DAWG she made him wear a fucking Collar....dude is back in chains...lmao.
Things like gender, race, sexuality, and how they look should be an undertone. Not the primary plot device. A story should focus more on the story, hopes and dreams, goals, and motivations. If it’s bad for a male character do something, doesn’t mean it’s okay for a female to do the same actions. Stop with the crappy writing and double standards. I’m glad someone is shining a light on this

as a 13 year old dude, i don't actually know, i haven't watched the video long enough to have an opinion on it :/
I've seen social experiment.
Honestly, this character would make a wonderful villain. A villain that everybody would love to hate.

Just because it happened to us, doesn't mean we can do the same. It will only lead to never-ending circle.
And yet they ignore actual oppression or discrimination women and girls still go through. As a woman, I find this very disgusting.

@@tifaajisafe7108 Is this meant for me? Or for someone who deleted their comments?

If he dies a horrible death in the ending then good
,,Bad ending" anchievment run

HONESTLYYY I've been hate reading sadistic beauty and its side story and it's a good way for me to get worked up BAHAH
I feel so bad for Minho, like he's a piece of shit sure, but he wasn't even given the chance to redeem himself-- even after everything he went through. Meanwhile Dunna and her enabler bf got away with whatever tf they're doing scott free
The art is very pretty though and ngl I was very attracted to Dunna at first, but her personality sucks ass lol
Just read the side story about Minho due to your comment.....
I'm gonna gorge my eyes out what the actual hell was that-
It was legitimately one of the most horrifying things I have read in my life.
In conclusion, fuck Sadistic Beauty, fuck Woongyung, and fuck the author for making something so messed up whilst trying to justify and excuse literal graphic r*pe
(Sorry this is so passionate, I literally just finished reading that disturbing mess)

This character in general just seems unpleasant to be in the company of. Personally, I would love to see a spin on this where she is a villain and the men work together to bring her down a few pegs. Although, that might present its own can of worms.
The woke would get mad, just like they did at my comic, The Pensuke Files. Before I revealed W H Y, Pensuke was evil, The woke thought that Pensuke was Trump and Kyubey, despite the lore inaccuracies that would happen if Pensuke WAS Kyubey. (Pensuke is a sentient incubator that has emotions, and is confirmed in my series to be the Father of Kyubey. When I told them why Pensuke was bad was the moment they realized that they were Pensuke, Pensuke wasn’t Kyubey, and that this series goes against the Woke.
Imagine if there was just some gigachad of a human male out there in the wilderness of this comic's world that is immune to her charms - to which if he were to meet her, she's surprised to see him politely-yet-sternly tell her to back off with a stone-cold face when she gets all flirty and begins touching him
Edit: to anyone that enjoyed this concept, you should know that I did write a bit of a story in the two (this guy and Slaver Princess) first meeting each other in the comments below
Edit 2: Holy Huginn and Muninn, Batman

As a sonic fan I agree 😎 it’s been getting better
I dunno i seen sonic frontiers described as a good game and sonic fans having good standars is kinda contradictory.
@@AaronJLong Uhhh.... thanks for... proving my point? O3O' That was an alarming list of examples but it more than gets the job done. XD Thank you!

Apparently he's villain for having "snake looking eyes"? Or apparently is a snake to the protagonist being a so cute bun bun (vomits)
Never explained or shown his villain side, the only being shown he really in love with MC and that's all.

Maybe it's just me Idc.
nah fam, revenge is sweet.
It's satisfying to see awful things happening to awful people. It's (part of) why old films always killed off the villains.
Yeah I do hold some issues with that. Rarely do people talk about how the MC was mistreated both in his past life and present. But want him to have moral standards.
It's called a dark character for a reason. And revenge will happen

There was this one female character, named Teruhashi and she was desirable to every boy in the show and want the attention, with the exception of the main character, Saiki, due to him having psychic powers, so he knows her intention. As a result, she sees him as a challenge to get him to admit in his own way, that he's attracted to her.

Im a woman and I feel blessed to have never touched that when I was 14
This comic is worse than redo of healer. (BTW, that story was written by a woman.)
This story on the other hand, thinks that everything happening in it is right.
The nobles and her brother are kinda right to not wanna an empress when the canidate is just trying to get it to get her rocks off
Webtoons is really just Tumblr concerning a looooooot of the 'themes' of these comics but is a lot more predatory considering how they treat their paid creators.
really like content u make, keep the good job man
You know the saying: "Equal rights = Equal fights"
It's honestly depressing and shows why GOOD representation
is so important. The bar is in the center of the earth.
There is no way they gave the ONLY black character ANIMAL FEATURES and gave him a fucking COLLAR
the episode that introduced the black dude in the toon should be called Django re-chained cuz DAWG she made him wear a fucking Collar....dude is back in chains...lmao.
