I talk about one of my favorite flash series, Perfect Kirby! Pikanjo on Newgrounds pikanjo.newgro... DeviantART: jdoesstuff.dev... Twitter: jd... Facebook: / james. .
My classmate in high school was the creator of perfect Kirby. Worked with Richie. Richie was pretty crazy with these creations at the WT. Wonder what he's up to now...
@@Jdoesstuff Richie was insanely good at flash animation. He got insanely good at it during the 2 years I went to vocational high school with him. The two of us took real advanced classes. Those were the days. Every time I see like the info graphics channel I think of him because that animation style is kind of the same. It's literally been 18 years and half a lifetime ago that I talked to the dude. God I hope he's doing well.
Finally I'm not alone!!! I remember watching this series a lot as a kid and thought it was awesome. Yeah it's a lil rough and generic at times now looking back at it, but despite that I still find it to be really charming, even to this day. Also that Midnight Snack short, just... classic. Shame that episode 4 never got made, cause I would've love to see more of the characters and how the story progresses. But alas, good things don't always last forever..
After rendering the video, I have found out that Newgrounds does not in fact post the flash animations in a proper video format. Or at least not for desktop. They have a separate video player that plays both animations and games. That wasn't how it was on my tablet, tho. So I'm not completely wrong..
Aw sweet a retrospective on Perfect Kirby! Our collective knowledge of Kirby came from the Crystal Shard game on the Nintendo 64. And after playing that and Perfect Dark it was just a fun idea that came to life on Newgrounds. It's a humble feeling finding out we did influenced and entertained those who watched.
@@Pikanjo Great to hear you still active online. I loved your Perfect Kirby series as it was coming out back in the early 2000's. I even upvoted the episodes daily on the channel because I wanted them to get more traction on the site. A shame we never got an Episode 4, but what we got was still very entertaining.
The modern Kirby community is so self important and childish nowadays. The community wasn't perfect in the 2000s/early 2010s but it was less annoying to me than it is now. If this series came out within the last 5 years there'd be soooooooooooo much obnoxious copium and temper tantrums over Kirby not being "100000% accurate to the games".
My experience with the Kriby community was about nothing but positive. I was sure it was considered one of the least toxic fandoms, but I'm not knocking your experience.
@@joshkyei3105 They just have a really smug vibe to them. There is a weird duality here actually. If someone calls Kirby a mindless kids game, the fandom goes ape and rants how deep and amazing the lore is. If someone makes a fanwork where Kirby is a bit too edgy, the fandom goes ape and rants about how Kirby is for kids.
@@joshkyei3105 Oh and also, I do not believe there are "not toxic" and "toxic" fandoms. I think each fandom is toxic in their own right.. so there are only "annoying fandoms" and "cancerous fandoms". Annoying ones being most franchises, really. Cancerous ones are things like Genshin Impact or KPOP fans.
@@Filon73 Nah, its nothing great. A lot of these people are unbearable to be around. Maybe the fandom is less "toxic" than the other big Nintendo fandoms but they are insufferable to talk to.
Im glad theres someone besides me that remembers this series existed. It was also one of my favorites as a youngling. I always held onto the hope PK4 would come out someday but it was a shame it never did
LOVED the Perfect Kirby series, that whole era of video game parodies in the early 2000's on Newgrounds was the best! I wish they made more.

Wow, that's amazing!
Yeah, I know John is still around on social media. But I've heard next to nothing about Richie. :(

And also we graduated in 2005 before youtube existed which was the reason these videos were on new grounds. (Zur-Beez) was ahead of his time for sure.
@@kirkjordan8718 Yeah, Newgrounds was the place for flash animations back in the day.
Thank you also for the name correction!
Damn that’s dope 😊
Wait…..THIS WAS A SERIES?! I only remember the midnight snack short. I guess I gotta watch it now……even if it is short.
Finally I'm not alone!!!

I remember watching this since elementary school in the mid 2000s, right now I’m 22 in College still remember the good days of Flash Animation.
To this day, John Zirbes still has hope for wanting PK 4 to be released.

Perfect Kirby 4 when?
Whoa! Didn't know y'all were still around.
Yeah, this series was one of my earliest introductions to Flash animation. I was 8 or 9 years old then.
Was it the only Kirby game you played before making your webseries?
@@someguylostontheinternet4504 Smash Bros. 64 was the only other influence we had but yeah.

The Kirby fandom is chill, much more than many others, it's just negative people that are more loud than the others.

Ah yes, Perfect Kirby is a huge part of my childhood. I hope there will be another Perfect Kirby cartoon/movie in the future.
Kirby and the forgotten land exists

Why did all flash-based media Shut down?
Glad I'm not alone! I used to watch all of these like 5 times a day after elementary school. haha!
