    Friend of mine bought one 6 months ago to do track days and asked me to ride it home after he bought it. By the time we got back I had a grin on my face from ear to ear and didn't want to get off the bike, the sound of it is immense and it;s such a pleasure to ride. Definitely one of the best bikes I've ridden in 8 years of riding thus far.

      irishwolfhound1987 I totally agree mate, I've only been riding it a week and it just gets easier to ride faster every day...!

    Definitely a huge improvement on the sound! Can't help but notice what a work of art that frame/ swing arm are. Beautifully designed and crafted. Nice choice of bike, Del!

      Tobias Newman Too right Tobias, as I said in the video, I was selling these brand new from the dealership in 1999 and when the first one rolled off the van, I fell in love at first sight, they truly are a thing of beauty!

    That's how a bike like that should sound! What an improvement. You don't have to justify the stuff you buy for your bikes man. The money you spend on parts for your bikes is your business. Keep those videos coming.

      DukeDyson Too right buddy... and in a week or two, I'll be able to remove the truss after lifting the can across the garage... I would put it in the rafters, like the Triumph exhaust, but I don't have 6x4 steel roof girders or Geoff Capes to lift it up there lol... I feel a sound off with the SV1000 coming on......???

    I have been a big admirer of Aprilia for a long time. I have not bought one only because of lack of local dealerships...that has now changed and I might have to look much closer at a Tuono!

      Thanks for the welcome.Shes very observant your Penny. That car is a 1.3L now converted to full RS2000 spec. I did have a Ghia about 5/6 years ago which was my first MK2 Escort after a break of 20 years, hence the Username. The Red Escort shares garage space with my Bandit 1200 which i have just bought back after foolishly selling it 3 years ago.

    I had the acro exhaust at first then tried a shorter exhaust on the Mille and noticed I lost a lot of power down low and top end but sounded great

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  8 років тому

      +SAMBEULINK Havent noticed any real loss of power, i run it with the litle baffle rube in now, its hardly any quieter, but at the top end its not so bellowing... if i had the money, id buy a full Acro system and go with an EPROM chip.....that'd wake it up...lol still hooks the front up in second with very little effort..!!

    • @SAMBEULINK
      @SAMBEULINK 8 років тому

      +Moonfleet41 another thing I noticed was with the acro I could do wheelies very easy in 1st 2nd and 3rd but the short one only 1st. I'll make a video of it one day. Maybe it's to do with what short exhaust you buy

    • @Moonfleet41

    Wow Del! I never thought you'd buy an Italian bike. I remember watching a Q and A video with you Duke, and Penny, and it sounded like you thought Italian bikes were too complicated. It sounds mean with the new exhaust, awesome video!

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  9 років тому

      zambam3 Good point mate, and, indeed, things like Ducati's, Laverda's and MotoGuzzi's can be delicate and complicated, but the Aprilia uses a Rotax engine and they actually had the tagline of the best Japanese bike to come out of Italy! So you get Japanese reliability, with Italian design, just like on a Cagiva!

    Sounds angry, I like it. A belting great V Twin through unbaffled end can is a sound that's hard to beat, sounds proper animal-ish. The new R1 also sounds like a twin thanks to it's weird firing order.
    I have a Viper end can bin-size on my B12, looks shite but sound is growing on me, my gf always compares it to a droning fighter/bomber, plus it pops and crackles like a bastard on the over-run, and that is really addictive!

    Best real world road bike ever made. Stubby exhausts ruin fuelling...these were designed for longer pipes and need a little more back pressure to work optimally. Best pipes for these are purpose designed Akras and Arrow pipes (sound the best too). The most hilarious, exhilarating, grin inducing 117 RWbhp bike anyone will ride. Simply awesome bikes. Grunty as heck and sublime chassis.

    Theres always trolls that say negative things to upset the people they target. Its as if they take pleasure in knowing that for a moment you will experience distress and anxiety at their comments. Sad individuals with obvious issues ( self confidence, insecurity etc etc) in their life that cant bear for anyone to do things that they enjoy and who have worked hard in order to enjoy. They also miss the point. You actively run a ytube channel and work as such you new a variety of bikes and projects in order to share new content with your subscribers. Crack on mate and ignore the haters who are obviously saturated with greed and envy and cant be bothered to acheive their own goals. Peace out buddy.

The stainless steel quality and fit is no different to any Akrapovic I've ever seen... and actually better than any Arrow system I've ever fitted... so top marks to the buys and with the way the word sounds I had no idea that Delkovic was British... and now I know it is, am even more chuffed... thanks for the kind offer, my friend, I'd love to support the company, are there any other parts that we might be able to promote??

      Out of interest, what do you own now? I never like the rumble of a V-Twin as had a CBR 600 b4, these bikes are just sometime else. The rumble from the exhaust is like it belongs to the RSV. Upgraded exhaust changes that for me, im falling in love with the rumble,.🤣. Shakes the spirit, untamed feeling.

      @Moonfleet41  8 років тому

      +Craig Taylor Hi Craig, you may be surprised, its nothing special buddy, i just wash them with the usual turtle wax soap to get the crap off, then once they're dry i use ...would you beleive....'Mr Sheen' to get the bodywork nice and shiney... the reason this works so well is because its a liquid wax, not an emulsion... the emulsion polishes are simply dry powder in a spirit....and as you can probably work out if you've used them, the polish dries, which is great for buffing off.. but it gets caught in all the cracks, chips and around the stickers and looks aweful... Mr Sheen, Pledge, any kind of spray can funiture polish is great...try it.. and you NEVER get the dry powdery deposits in all the lines and cracks.
      I got the idea when i ran a bike shop.. we used a special "Trade detailing wax" for the bikes...and it came in spray cans but was £6 a can.... when we ran out one time...i sent the lad up to the shops for a tin of Mr Sheen...gave him a fiver..he came back with £3.50 change....we never bought the trade wax again...lol.. Give it a try mate.. you'll see. works all over your bike, even on the chrome and stainless parts....just DONT get any on the seat or you'll lose the Mrs off the back....lol

    Hi, this is a query about a scrambler vid from ages ago where you removed the secondary air injection. I was going to do this to my Triumph America and happened to mention it to my local triumph dealer who said it was ok on a carb version but not on my EFI?? They said it would make the over run popping even worse. Is there some weird reason they don't recommend it - they said I should look at the baffle seals on my after market pipes. Nothing's ever simple :) keep up the great work.

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  9 років тому +1

      Steve R HI Steve... two issues here, and they seem to contradict each other..
      A bad baffle or silencer seal on your after market pipes will allow air in the system as the gasses flow through...and that extra air ignites any unburnt gasses, and that causes the popping... so if you seal them with a tight heatproof silicone sealant, the popping will be vastly reduced..
      The other issue is thier advice, doesn't make sense mate.. the AI is a simple method of deliberately injecting air into the system so as to deliberately burn off any fuel residue...the factory silencers prevent you hearing this, but rest assured it is still happening in there... and when you fit open pipes, you hear it clearly.. if you remove the AI, then there is NO air introduced to the system, so there will subsequently be no popping...
      There is one small rumour that the AI removal can cause the motor in EFI bikes to run lean as the O2 sensors read the unburnt gasses as think the bike is running rich...so leans out the mixture... but the AI only works to just over idle speed....and everybody i have ever heard from that has removed it has had no issues.. !!

    Was looking at the Delkevic stubby for my bike :D Was just wondering if this one is marked road "legal" and if the MOT station would fail as an non road exhaust? Want my 125 to sound like a proper V-Twin and give it a bit more power :) Cheers

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  9 років тому

      Ethan Senior Hi Ethan, well, they are not road legal, that is for sure! But it all depends on your local Constabulary, and whether they have a relaxed attitude to loud exhausts... it's all about the pitch, rather than the volume and your other issues, such as bad riding behaviour, that will get you pulled... same goes for the MOT station, there is no factory stamp, but the only one that actually has that and is totally legal is the factory exhaust... just keep your old one and pop it on for MOT, that's what everyone else does !

    If I was your neighbour, I'd pop my head out the door to see what's sounding sexy over at Del's...
    Seriously, 'round the corner where I use to live, there lived this bloke named Arthur, who had a rat Harley. His "exhaust" were two bits of pipe to direct the exhaust gasses towards the road. It was proper loud, but it didn't bother me. On the rare occasions it would wake me up, I just thought "Oh, Arthur is off to work then" and went straight back to sleep.
    And, as others have said, if you see a bike you like and you can afford it, who are we to judge you for buying the thing? I was recently tempted by a KTM Duke, but decided I can't justify owning a bike at this point. My decision, nobody else's business.

    I know it sounds better and is much less heavy but now surely the gasses are getting out of the bike much faster and with no extra air or fuel surely the bike might run too lean and need a remap or with less back-pressure the bike will lose some torque?

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  9 років тому

      Ben Smith Hi Ben, before you go spending silly money, Delkevic do sell the cans separately as a universal slip on, along with a strap, so all you need is to measure your link pipe as it enters your can (provided it is pointing straight in the direction of the can, so can be slipped on to)... then just hacksaw the can off the end of it... the Delkevic's come with a baffle for MOT... just measure the tube that will make the downpipe and speak to them so you get the right size to slip over it.... any good??

    • @smudge6727
      @smudge6727 9 років тому

      Thanks for the reply. My apologies, it isn't actually the can that has welded. Where you would normally have the end can and the slip on section to detach from the rest of the exhaust system there is a weld were the join "should" be located near the underside of the bike. It appears a previous owner has had some sort of hole and chosen to weld it rather than replace it. I have been told by a garage it would be cheaper to source new/used downpipes as well as slip on rather than cutting and re welding. If there is a cheaper alternative than buying a whole new system that would be great. Apologies again if I am still a little unclear. I can always take pictures if you are unsure what I mean. Much appreciated.

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  6 років тому

      Hi buddy, that was high temperature silicone, you can buy it from the car accessory stores, and it's designed for sealing joints like this... it forms a solid, heat proof rubber that won't burn, or flake away, and when you want to remove the pipe it just peels off... hope that helps good luck with yours !
