the grip pressure is a fabulous reminder. These simple suggestions are easy to understand and are a great teaching tool

Like Ernie Els, John Daly and Fred Couples, great, and slow, rhythm. A joy to watch. As much as David Ledbetter made Faldo et al a succesful, modern and more technical swing style during Monty's years, there is a big joy in these more flowing styles, that I really enjoy.

A big man with tremendous rhythm and timing ! Just collects the ball on the down swing ! Should have won many majors ! A little hot headed at times but that is his chemistry !

Great swing to watch, simple with tremendous rhythm.More importantly an action which produced proven consistent accuracy over a very long period of time.

And what most people don't realize is that he fades the ball. Everyone thinks that the pros hit it dead straight, yet if we look on protracer, they all curve the ball. There's nothing wrong with a fade, I'm an 8 handicap, and I play a 15 yard fade. I simply aim at the left edge of the fairway and let it come back in. I purposely play a fade because it's more accurate, not only that but when I open my clubface a bit to produce the fade, it adds loft, which increases backspin, therefore carry. I don't want a ball that rolls 50 yards in a fairway, especially if it's firm, I want to hold the fairway, so I put around 3100 spin on my ball.

Great Video! Forgive me for chiming in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you heard about - Paneevelyn Swinging Clubsman (should be on google have a look)? It is a smashing one of a kind product for revealing an effortless golf swing technique without the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my friend at very last got excellent results with it.

Hi there You Tube Mr Paul Schulz pronounced shultz , here . Thankyou colin for your tip on putting pace although I'm talked about in the golf club as a very good putter your tip on 15 inch past the hole I will implement, and for me in putting the ball is level with my front foot for best results 27 to 30 putts per round , my chipping is great with a pitching wedge as it's a pitch and run game . The one I now should practice but never do is sand play . Currently I hit SW , PW, 52%, OR 58% WEDGES FROM SAND. we have a fantastic bunker on our 16th unless your in it , I would say its 8.5 foot deep and I've got out first time with PW SIDEWAYS. Where is the club WOOLLEY PARK GOLF CLUB BARNSLEY SOUTH YORKSHIRE . IT HAS A MACENZIE THREE TIER GREEN ON 16TH ALSO.

say what you want about his swing, but his tempo is outstanding with every club in the bag.

He seems to tell the same story. Impulses to hit the ball are not stopped by thinking I have to swing though the ball.

Very body friendly swing which gives the illusion of having to be very flexible in order to make that full shoulder turn and have the club go past parallel .
Monty gives the club momentum on the takeaway (lagging clubhead takeaway ) then lets that momentum (inertia) of the club help turn his body and raise his arms.. This requires being loose and relaxed more than being "very flexible". The momentum of the club and his VERY light grip causes the club to dip past parallel .
Another benefit of taking advantage of the clubs momentum is that that momentum pulls your left arm straight .This takes the "slack" out of the rope (left arm) and maximizes the swing arc.
I wish Monty would stop using the word "hit" and instead use "swing". He uses a pure swinging motion from start to finish and the ball just happens to be in the path of that swing arc (plane).
The ball is never looked at as a target to hit at . It is a fixed point around which Monty sets up and aims his swinging machine (body) then let's the machine swing while completely ignoring the ball. Once the machine is set up and aligned , Monty swing just as well blind folded as eyes open. Maybe even better :)

What the HELL are you talking about? This is so complicated that I doubt you can break 120 thinking all this bullshit.

@wx811 Simple minds resort to insults and cursing when they lack the knowledge and vocabulary to present a valid counterargument.
I consistently break 80 at Bethpage Red playing by the rules of the USGA.
      Hit em straight.🙂

Paul Schulz again here one last question . COLIN MONTGOMERIE SAYS " HE HITS THROUGH NOT AT THE BALL " . So why the dip of the knees on the downswing, is that not trying to lift the ball up ??
    Paul.

    • @TrueRahf
      @TrueRahf 5 років тому +1

He says it as a mental cue for the participants to swing all the way through, instead of ending it and limping out after striking the ball. You are applying a level of analysis which goes deeper than Montgomerie's intention.

Yes light grip but not too light but I know what he means most beginners throttle the club before they swing it.

I'd loved to have won his money and have his Ryder Cup record with that horrible swing. I'd mimic it all day long.
