Father Phil has to have one of the best choices in cars, seeing that car brings me back 20 years when my mate had one and the fun we had running round the single track roads, if it wasn't for the salt and the rot that comes along with it it would still be here
Brilliant to see that GTI in all its glory, what an absolute gem. Always wanted one but could never afford it! Credit to Father Phil for the work that's been done and the condition it's in. Hope Uncle Ian is doing well and is excited to get cracking on the 1200. Some really touching comments, everyone will be looking forward to seeing the project unfold. 👍
Those 1.9 205 GTI were some car back in the day. Father phil is really passionate about the car you can see that. really enjoying following your UA-cam journey, father Phil has come around to be a UA-cam celebrity
Lovely little car, especially in such good original condition. It's been mentioned already, but perhaps you could get an indicator lens 3D printed using the other one as a pattern.
Good to hear you and father Phil thanking people for their comments regarding uncle ian, great people you pair Phil you and your father, would love to meet u pair, from Northern Ireland best of luck
The GTI looks great. My thoughts and prayers for Uncle Ian and your whole family. These things are hard on everyone so have some fun when you can and take care! Best wishes from the US!
Father Phil loves that car. When I first met my other half he had a red one the same, he was just watching this and reminiscing about the speeding ticket he got coming to pick me up one day. 😂 Ours was scrapped in the end, but there are still lads doing them up, one bought loads of bits off of ours before it went. Hope Father Phil's cold gets better soon.
Are we collecting car's now only joking.Hope Uncle Ian is getting along we wish him well . Love to hear you talking with Father Phil always interested.Enjoy your new toys driving around County Longford. Will watch tonight help us unwind.Good luck.🐔🐔🐔🐕🐕🐕🐕🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪💯💯💯🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀

Great to see ye at the pumpkin picking last saturday. A fantastic family I got to meet all the family and even father phil came out for a cup of tea. Hope uncle is keeping well
I did a one day learn to rally course down in Devon over twenty years ago in a 1.9 pug, great fun but I wasn't very quick. The owner had converted it to semi auto with hand control throttle and break but it was real difficult even though I'd been driving my defender 90 with the same adaptions. Great fun
Great video Phil the 205 brings back great memories for me had one in 1991 absolute rocket the t16 was a fine machine and father Phil is right they could of been bought for handy money at one time the same as the lancia delta s4 which make up to 500k now it’s crazy money for a car the s4 was what put a finish to group b rally after Henri toivonen and Sergio Cresto where killed in the tour de corse father Phil’s 205 is mint what a beautiful car
Great vedio as always 👍, I would be the same vintage as Father Phil, XR2 Fiesta would be My favourite, like Father Phil ,I couldn't insure one eather, Brilliant to come up with something little deferent to the normal vedios thanks lads 👍👍
Fair play to the usable classics. Never been a pug man myself but they were a joy to drive. Least the rust keeps the numbers left down 😉💷.. Im mighty in pressed by the yard to though😜😉tidy👍. Celica Gt4 would look at home there to 🤔. Stay safe 🏴 👍 👌
Enjoyed your video always something to learn about what you and father Phil are doing .And I wish your Uncle well. He has lots of fans in the USA hear in Minnesota!!
Savage pair of classic cars, had a 205 van, greatest yoke of all time, when.time came when it died buried it in field next to the house,so telling my lads now can't build a house there

Enjoyed seeing a bit of your car collection for a change! Father Phil was cracking me up, too; he's a good character! I have to wonder, are trucks a popular vehicle to buy for pleasure in Ireland, or are they strictly viewed as utilitarian work vehicles? Just curious since I am over here in the US where they have become a status symbol and a vehicle of leisure and work both. People over here like sports cars, as well, but they tend to be the large pony/muscle cars. Very interesting to see sports cars over there.
A lot of celica GT4 was imported, very rare to find an Irish GT4 I know sold mine for nothing nearly 10yrs ago…. Lovely car tho in great nick preferred them to the golfs….. love the MR2 as well had one beautiful machine…. Well ware
My mate had the red version, brand new (he was very spoilt) it was a lovely car at the time though. Lots of 1.6 out there but the 1.9 was always the real deal.
Awesome. Maybe a parody film like that other irish channel (can't remember what they were called). But you and farther racing around the lanes drifting around the tractors drinking beers and smashing bottles.
I hope uncle Ian has a speedy recovery 🙏, top man full of mind full information, always great to listen to
A lot of young farmers had Peugeot 205 xrad diesel vans back in the day.

Thats a cool car you can see how excited your dad is talking about it hes right back in 1988 lol. Looks like a fun car to drive.
Lovely 205, very clean original paintwork and interior. I have a red 1.9 . Check your SAD valve. It should bring up the revs when the engine is cold.

Father Phil is some man , bet he was a lad in his day 🤙🤙

I used to drive a Golf mk1 GTI 1983. 5 speed 130 hp. It was that or that 205 that was the car to have :) Loved that car! It was like a gocart.

My Dad called this, the 6r4 and the Renault gt turbo projectiles, scary cars to race in. Beautiful car, what a treat.
Ha ha, brings back lots of memories of my old 205 and it’s terrible excuse for a sunroof 🌧

Would recommend Wheel Wizards in Dublin for wheel refurbishment. They did a set rims for me a few years back and would highly recommend them.
Ebay has the side indicators and you should be able to to find the fuel cap cover.
