it was commissioned by President Nana Akuffo Addo on July 4th 2023
Located in downtown Accra, Ghana is the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and Mausoleum. The Mausoleum is the final resting place of Ghana's first President and and his beloved wife Fathia Nkruma

Govt should give seed money, solicit for donations from private people and IMPORTANTLY get the CHURCHES to build the cathedral. They can do it

@@frankbediako1372 there'd always be poverty in Ghana. We should build the cathedral, but at a reduced cost, not with the speed Nana Addo was rushing it through to fulfill his promise to God whilst still in office.
Ghana doesn't have many national symbols. The cathedral would add to that number. Would also add to Accra's skyline. Infact if we had done the marine drive project , we'd also have a beautiful ocean front view that the Abidjans, Lagos, Dakars etc have.
We should also let the churches take charge of building the cathedral. It should be their baby. They have the means to do it

That's how you build patriotism by building monuments to your local heroes. Beautiful park. What the gentleman was saying is true. If Africa finds a way to rely more on itself...between countries...there would be nothing that she would need from the west.
Note: Pan Africanism was actually born in the west and Nkruma came into contact with it when he came to the west to study. He then took it back to africa in a big way.
What do you mean by the West? Padmore, a Carribean is the intellectual godfather of Pan Africanism. The core was started by blacks, which Nkrumah was part of it, livingcor studying in England.
