Ryan Dungey on the WORST Bike He Ever Had to Race

- We're in Huntsville, Alabama, for the launch of the Dunlop Factory Spec Geomax Tires, and we were stoked to see that Ryan Dungey also made the trek down from Tennessee to put the new rubber to the test. After he was done burning some motos, we at him down to see what was new in his world and pick his brain on some of the bests and worst of his career....
I wish dungey was involved in the broadcast. He’s so well spoken and has so much knowledge. Love listening to him
I agree, BUT, it takes a certain type of person to jump in. He's so polite and soft spoken he might get run over in the booth lol.
Good point, never gave it a thought, but it makes sense, maybe commitments and he might not be interested in that side of things, who knows but I like it anyway! 👍
@@fixnshet5640 I agree 100%! Ryan definitely wouldn't struggle to speak like Bubba? And create situations that only exist in his Mind?Bubba defames Riders and Glamorizes his Favorite's! Bubba speaks about 3 things at a time! And never actually says anything? He contradicts himself all the time? And he sounds like.....? Yeh,but,an,cuz, nah but, etc etc
He is one of the sports greatest ambassadors in history. Always friendly, always honest, politically correct, just a class act all around.
Being political correct doesn't mean anything. Just look at Biden and all the other "political correct" people. Wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw em
All that is true and a little boring
Facts but is a little boring for my taste
Not true. He was a dick to me off camara, he was retired and I asked for a picture after Houston SX. Moody entitled princess.
Dungey for president
Great interview with one of the best. Still miss watching him ride, hard to find anyone like him to cheer for anymore. Always humble and honest, rare qualities these days.
Always great to hear from Ryan. He was a great rider and an even better human being. Glad to see him as an ambassador for the sport.
What a geezer! You know Dungey keeps it real when he says the best bike he ever rode was his 250f Suzuki .
How many other people would of said the brand they were affiliated with..
So crazy when you look back at the bingo wing shirts ..
Lol
Ryan got the Girl, the Money, the good character,Bike skills (earned), Positive attitude, he's definitely Winning!
How could you not like this guy? Class act all around!
I can see and hear his passion for what he does away from the moto industry. Nice interview Swap!
Dungey has always been a favorite of mine…genuine, transparent, and all around good dude!! Our sport is blessed to have him!!
Me too
So cool. Always brings a smile to my face to see dungey.
great interview. Dungey is such a good speaker. I had lots of trouble hearing the questions from the interviewer, though. Ryans audio was good, so I just had to go with his answers.
I live in livingston tn and his name carrys alot of weight here thanks for everything Dungey does for the kids.. hope to see alot more of him in the future..
Great hearing someone that keeps things Real. Not like all these dudes/ channels who do vids on bike shootouts or new overpriced tires getting paid to spew out bias crap.
I always loved Dungey. What a great person. A good Christian man.
Ryan is such a class act! I visited wihim two years ago at Fox raceway ride day and he is such a down to earth nice guy. He's done great thing for St Judes and others. Kids love riding with him!!
RD5 is my all time favorite rider. Obviously I don't know him personally but, everything I've seen and heard from him is always positive. He is a perfect role model for all kids. Hope the industry keeps him around for many years to come.
Great to hear from Ryan. Hey , you know you may like vet MXof nations
what a shining example of good people off that track even more than what he brought to the track. thanks ryand for all you do.
KTM scored big with RD. Both of them. Roger DeCoster and Ryan Dungey.
Great question 😄!! I love this, ask all racers this question! We riders love to hear this question from the pros👍!!
The fact that guys like Ryan and James not really riding anymore says a lot how hard our sport can be sometimes to even ride.
Donn- another great interview. I so respect RD and look forward to him moving to Murrieta when "The Man," Roger Decoster retires. I can dream, can't I ?
Nice seeing Ryan. I met Ryan his parents and Johnny O’mara at the 07 Washougal national and spent a couple of hours hanging out with them. They were very nice and treated me like family. Ryan signed his side panels and gave them to me.
One of my all time favorites. So chill and what a great dude!
Great guy! Dungey is the man. The two Ryans Vilapoto and Dungey had some duals on the track that was stuff of legend! Good times!😁😂🤣
That sound in the background is giving me a track day itch 😅
Chase needs to take a page out of Ryans book. Stop complaining about the bike and make it better
dude never complained even when the bike left him dead in the water
One of the greats on and off the track!
Dung is 1 of 1. Great guy, always happy and smiling. Great role model for the sport still to this day..
Ryan and Eli are great racers and good human beings.
If we could get Dungey in the booth it would be awesome. At least he can speak in complete sentences and knows what an adverb is. Meanwhile we are stuck with the equivalent of “I don’t read to good”
Dungey is great
When I think of Dungey I think Suzuki
I currently have an old poster from 2009 (it's probably that 250 that he loved so much actually lol). Also, when I got that poster that day I was a kid, and I was shy and nervous and had NOTHING to say when I was face to face with Ryan Dungey and he was so cool, he could tell I was nervous, so asked me a few questions and made me feel comfortable. He was so cool about that. I'll never forget that, that was 15 years ago lol.
Glad Roger gave this guy a shot coming from B class at Loretta’s
Yea , Roger saw something.
Ryan is AWESOME great human being …absolute badass on a bike🙌🏽✨
100% Legend and Pure Class👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸
During his career Dungey wasnt "my guy" but i am still forever a Dungey fan. He was always a solid rider and great for the sport!
Great dude! Great interview!
Class act, one of the best on the track and off.
The goat in my books RD5
honestly didn't like dungey when he raced against villopoto haha but man i miss this guy now. he was so good for the sport. such a great guy.
Spoken like a true champion. 💯
My favorite pro racer of all time.
I attended the Adventure Rider rally and it was amazing! I was able to ride with Paul Krause (3 times Baja winner) for two days. 😅
Such a genuine guy, loved that coffee !
Still my all time Favorite
Ryan big fan 👏 🙌 God bless 🙌 🙏
The Nike boots was 🔥
Get him in the studio swap !! “Drinking with Dung”
Class act! 🤙🏻🇺🇸
at 3:35 mark he says they moved to Tennessee, do we know where and why?
He's a good all round guy in everything that he does bloody good bloke as we say in Australia
Great interview
Shop classes!
Bring them back!
10am or 10 cups of coffee 😂
Or 10pm? 🤣
The Diesel... Dungey is the man!
Dungey is the man everyone should strive to be.
One of the best! The only motocrosser to make the cover on a box of Wheaties! Good for the sport
He and Canard man, some or the best guys.
The diesel. I just gave my Dungy Wheaties box to my friend who has a garage of vintage bikes.
One by metallica playing in dungeys head when he was thinking about those first 2 years on ktm
Sad that the price of a new bike is the same as a used car nowadays , most kids will never have a bike
Come in NZ or Aussie and do the KTM Adventure ride, bring the family down under also, esp NZ with Chris Birch, you would love the South Island as would the fam, be a trip and experience even for you of a lifetime, its bucket list trust me, you will kick yourself for not doing it sooner! I'm sure Chris and Rosie who is a Legend of the adventure Rally's worldwide plus the rest of the KTM team would love to have you!
Also the North Island is full of bush, forests and trails great dirt and allot of dirt variety too, riding on pumice is
unique, too gold, we call gold dirt in BOP is incredible then to dark dirt black as the night to farmlands and all conditions you might expereince!
Anyways great interview.
Just don't leave it too long you will regret it if you taste the Land from Downunder!
Family no matter what age will have an experience like no other also.
Just beware the drop bears in Australia or the Taniwha in NZ, they eat people or grab them and shoot back up into the canopy never to be seen or heard from again!
🤣🤣🤣
Everything in Aussie in the bush and water is trying to kill you!
NZ we just have the Taniwha!
We have no poisonous insects, snakes or crocs , (we do have a spider on CH beaches, the Katipo, just don't turn over any beach logs only the female can kill you, males are harmless!
Love Dungey. Ill never understand moving to Tennessee though. I live here and it sucks lol
I really like Tennessee when I lived there. Smokey mountains, Loretta Lynn, Dollywood.
Tennessee is a beautiful place with wonderful people except for one of them.
Dungey is a polite gentleman
DUNGEY, build a track in middle TN.!!!!!!! We need an MX track in middle TN. very much!! so many people here wanna ride and race but their is no tracks in the immediate area..HELP!!
Retiring from pro racing OK. Not riding on a track after you quit OK. You can still have a blast on a 300 2-stroke woods riding. That is what I did here in So Cal. I'm sure they have trails in that area too.
Dungy put KTM on the map for sure especially super cross.
Tenesee and Kentuckey are very nice. Oklahoma might have been a better choice. South Central/and South Eastern OK are unbelievable green and gorgeous. Lakes everywhere, Deer, Elk,..."outlaw" is a big thing here. Tracks? Dude, it's MOTO-MECCA!!!
PS: I haven't even seen a Twister from a distance!! Tornado/Hurricane Alley is where you live now. Just look at NORTH CAROLINA!!! I'm sure I'll see one. But other places will get "smeshed" long before that.
Dude, Tornadoes are not a good time. 4 years in the Tulsa area, I got hit by one in 2021. F that, I moved back to Oregon. It doesn't Tornado here.😂
Definitely should have inserted pictures of the gear he was talking about. That would have helped.
I had no idea Dunlop had a testing facility near trash panda city lol
One of my favorite writers if not my favorite riders and Chase Sexton is also my favorite writer so yeah my two favorite riders and then there's some really close ones after that I wish my friend Bryan hatch could have made it into the pros but instead he wrecked and was paralyzed right when you starting to get big time
I like the old baggy style. Mulisha style!!! Lol.
what part of TN does he live in?
Where's the footage of him riding the 250 2-stroke??? cmon
Check elsewhere on our channel, my man!
Suzuki baby🎉
The diesel 😅
200 nike boots is crazyyyy
Best bike I ever rode and still have is a 2010 KTM 990 Adventure. Worst bike I ever rode is a newer KTM 890 adventure. Too much technology to go wrong and it has. Wont start for some unknown reason, shop cant fix it and recommended a new wiring harness WTF??
Worst factory bike? Never exists 😂😂😂😂
🤦🏻♂Yeah, tell Showtime that…
😂😂😂
@@sdb92 ask Bob Hannah about his 1982 Yamaha. I believe he describes it as a tub of shit.
@@TheBlueDogMan Yeah, dude l know. And, ask Wardy about some of his early ‘80s KXs and The Bomber about his ‘84-‘85 RMs and The Golden Boy about his KTM POS!
Helicopter????
The DIESEL! 👊🤘🏻🏁☠️💨💨
Sorry tight fitting gear even flexible on Moto or dirt riding is GHEY, that's for boys that haven't reached pubity cant shave, but shave their legs! or road bikes and road racers! Seriously for road it helps and protects to be tight!
But big no for dirt, its like MTB I hate lycra for MTB or on Dirtbike, Moto bags all the way, not like cargo pants! but not like Onesy either that Craig wore at A1 that was so bad, my junk got nightmares and I cant get that image out of my head, no way no please no! I'll make my own gear if coys go down that road and it will also be the end of extreme and cool moto days, kids have gender issues enough today, next they will be wearing tutu's and high heals on bikes! no no! Moto is dirt, getting dirty its mans mans sport! Lets not go woke corporate!
Cool bloke
Lost me at “havent done a lot of riding lately”. Nothing against him, I’m sure he’s a good guy. But I don’t wanna listen to or have anything to do with someone that only likes to ride dirt bikes when it financially benefits them.
Oh shut up lol Ryan v didn’t touch a bike for awhile when he retired
Weirdo
I think these riders get burnt out because they give everything to it for so long
Dungey 2028!
Definitely ktm with pds for mx, but he can't say it
I always get the feeling that the only reason we still see Dungey still, is because he doesn’t have enough money yet to disappear. He always just seems so uninterested lol
Huh He is pretty darn Rich. He grew up racing and still has interest.
@ not rich enough to never work again, or need income. No shit he grew up racing, but you see the dude only when it comes to his charity, you can’t tell me he’s still a huge part of the sport to the public.
Holy crap! Between the crotch rocket and the helicopter, that was annoying to listen to.
OK Karen
Ken?
Yes swap should have contacted the FAA and had all air traffic stopped within 50 miles of the interview
Still got your tampon in !
Ktm group shouldnt cut back on riders, cut dungy ambasador $$$$. He doesnt ride
Class act. Love what he does for kids
Dungey will always be yellow RM Army for me
Do I hear a 2 stroke road bike in the background? I swear that's what it sounds like...
Priorities??? Bro! This is your life! Bikes are what gave you everything. You need to go out and ride. It’s definitely in the top 3 priorities
