Thank you for taking the time to listen! You are an incredible musician and inspiration to me. I am truly humbled by your comment. I hope to learn much more about Konnakkol!
hello Sir.. I am a electronic music producer trying to fuse Indian Classical with westered drum and bass and Psychedelic chillout music, would love to have your Konnakol vocals mixed in my tracks .. could you please tell me how i go about it ..
This video gon blow up after Andre Antunes cover. Very underrated and much longer than AA. And of course from 5 years back in 2018 when no one knew rhe original song. Although I appreciate what Andre has done for Indian and Pakistani ethnic rhythms, in thie case Artificial Fear is the OG!❤😂
It's a mnemonic device for how they keep track of measures. Carnatic music isn't really written. It's all memorized stuff, so keeping track requires insane coordination. People studying this stuff can't even put on their first recital until they've studied for a decade or more and their teacher deems them worthy.
That 9-tuplet at 2:44 sounded so sick and out of nowhere. Will have to try that in an actual Metal breakdown. Amazing stuff man, respect to you and the konnakol singers.

the original video was posted a lot of times on a fb group called djent, and all the time ppl was requesting this, just a perfect metal cover with all of this crazy rhythms and finally haha what a great job!
Dude... you need to stop! Ever since the metal Zelda covers, you've been a major musical influence of mine. Now after seeing this, I think you've transcended human limitation... Haha! Awesome work. Truly unbleivable! Keep going man.
Haha that cracks me up! In drum corps and rudimental drumming a nine-let is no big deal, but here it's crazy. Although in drum corps nobody can play any drumset at all, so what the hell do i know
If you haven't already you should check out A Reshuffling of Atoms by Mattias IA Ecklundh, it uses the same Konnakol duet, but in a much different way that you might find entertaining.
been into konnakol for a few months now and im stil perplexed by it. Im a guitar player primarily so this video helps me understand it better...only in a western way 🤥
INSANE is the word. Congrats. India have by far the most complex and fathomless rythmic tradition. Nothing is even close, not even african, cuban or brazilian match this mental engineering. And its wonderful syllabic pedagogy simply have been functional along centuries. It works, as we can see in the original video
congrats , this is amezing work, following this Indian Konnakol rithyms . Wen I here konnakol solos first time I fall in trance, and think, this is heavy speed metal , and then find this(your) video, and everything made sense . I see across my life how everithing its conected and cyclic , and find this beautyfull kind of art , blow my mind and you put in another step . Thanks dude !!!
How the?... What the?... Yeah... I'm pretty much blown away by this...andddd this pretty much cements the idea that music is a universal language. Well done man, well done.
@@ArtificialFear great job. Blessed to see this. I've been following vinayakaram and team and with no bias, was the most beautiful Rendition I'd seen. Edit: the notes were a good touch. Lovely, and I dig you with the groaning. Excellent work again. Meshuggah would be proud. 3:20 made me happy. Thank you again
Necesitaré escuchar esto durante varias semanas para comprender la riqueza de este trabajo. Incluso que la voz adecue la secuencia melódica adecuada a la pieza.
200th comment! Also, just wanted to say, holy crap, these rhythms are something else for real. It's amazing that you managed to write something that goes along with it but is still coherent, great job!
Fun fact martial arts started in South india kalari Payyatu is known as mother of martial arts. And South Indian sage bodhi dharma went to China and taught which later became Shaolin. So u are right in a way
So, the Beatles went to India and could have brought back konokal breakdowns with them but didn't? They single-handedly - err, quadra-handed set western music back by 50+ years!
I just posted the original on a percussion forum only to find this and sinse meshuggah to me is easily my most influential band you can see why I might like this even more
This is so incredibly awesome!!! Hadn't heard anything from you since I discovered your work on Newgrounds, like 6 years ago haha. Keep it up, you rock!
I've released a lot of stuff in the past 6 years. You may not be receiving notifications from my channel. Go click on the little bell icon, and should be all set.

So THIS is where Meshuggah gets their rhythms from...
ArtificialFear daaamn, the mystery has been solved 😂 🤘🏽
i was just thinking the same thing...
Exactly what i thought watching it. Fucking hell man. Its spot on.
The core of all is math
@@CJ-pj5gu Indeed, but Kudos to the Ancient Dravidians for propagating such rhythmic complexity, in seemingly less advanced times.
Meshuggah is sweatin'.
Lmao "I'm not the most deadliest beat now!!"
Thie guitarist is well versed in konnakolam... ua-cam.com/video/wlY7rp9xm0I/v-deo.html
one of their guitarists spoke about learning Indian traditional rhythms
Super effort dear artificial fear.. Its so overwhelming to see this..

Maybe you guys can team up for an original song? I'd love to hear more like this.
Sir. Please collaborate more with rock and electronic musicians. This is really inspiring stuff !

Starting 0:45 she keeps track of 2 totally different time sigs on both hands in addition to singing the phrases 🔥🚨
7/8 on one, 7/4 on the other, while vocally not seeming to give any kind of a fuck what a time signature is.

So heartwarming to see this ancient art be internationalized as a student myself.
More of this cultural metal
style please. It's so powerful.
This is absolutely amazing. I’ve never seen such a humbling art form. An absolute pleasure to watch and listen from start to finish.
LOL! Indian Dream Theater :D!

INDIAN DREAM THEATRE I LOVE IT
Great job representing a slowly dying art form for your audience. I wish more knew about konakkol singing.
I think I remember hearing this type of singing is also supposed to be memorized entirely! 🤯

I agree with you!
I am quite literally speechless right now. How can a mere human pull this off. Are you even human at this point
bro this absolutely insane, great work
This proves we can still push music so much further
Tal is several times more complex than American scat singing and may have been at least part of the inspiration for thrash metal drumming.
This changed my whole perspective for music 💯
The whole time waiting for the part in 9-tuplets that I loved so much on the original video! Awesome!
This is at a different level all together .
Okay...that was the coolest thing I've seen on UA-cam for many, many months -- Holy Cow !!!!
HAHAHA love the desperation call in the end! :DD
Your last gasp pretty much summarized what happened...Blew my brains... Wish I had the skills to add morsing to it.....
Ever since I saw the original, all I wanted was a djent version. Thank you so much.
How the?... What the?... Yeah... I'm pretty much blown away by this...andddd this pretty much cements the idea that music is a universal language. Well done man, well done.
This is so right. It can't be any more perfect.
This is one of the first things i would show to extraterrestrials. Stupendous
As a konakkol and metal lover. Thank you. Ok I groaned at the end of the video too. Wonderful really
Edit: this was so beautiful
haha that was the sound of my brain actually frying since this was my first time attempting Konakkol in any capacity!

This is the most mind blowing experience of this year so far. Great job!!!
This rythm is the equivalent of shaolin kung fu for a martial artist. Congrats to the musicians who can play that !
Fun fact martial arts started in South india kalari Payyatu is known as mother of martial arts. And South Indian sage bodhi dharma went to China and taught which later became Shaolin. So u are right in a way
Dude, this is SO cool. Awesome video!
Thanks!
i think the entire passage from @2:30 to @3:30 is a complete mockery of time dimension. insane stuff
I keep listening to this great track!
I'm a huge long-term Indian fusion and djent fan, loving this! :D :D :D
Not so easy for a westerner to pick it up easily... extraordinary effort buddy.
Esto es perfecto...
Heard this play on WFMU and needed to find the source, thanks!

Wow!! this is like a breakdown dictionary 🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🏼🤘🏼 so good 😁
Just the fact that you were able to write the notation for this is amazing, let alone that you played it.

Как говорится, все новое - это хорошо забытое старое. ))
This just makes me so happy.
The rythm is quite more complicated than it's been written. Great job though!
