Saiki makes sure you know what she thinks about cheaters, lol! A brilliant bass/guitar conversation between MISA and Mincho! Akane keeping the conversation going on in the song! Miku helps on the vocals and her rhythm guitar is just right!
Misa its a insane bass player.... but I think you have miss how stunning is Kanami (leader guitar and writer). One of the best riff player nowday IMHO. Check also some instrumental ONLY track from BM.
This song became the highlight of their 2023 tour--there are a dozen versions of it up on YT from various concerts. This really shows why. It's destined to go down as a one of the great live performances ever captured on video. Thanks for coming back to Band-Maid. Kanami is a true jedi-level guitarist, and MISA is in the running for best rock bassist in the world today.
Definitely!! Saw them perform at Pointfest and at Lollapolooza last year and it put an exclamation point on both festivals. This was probably the last tour on a side stage for them, they killed many of the headliners sets.
What many people don't hear is halfway during the "Duel" Miku starts backing up Kanami's riff, making it sound so much thicker. But if you listen to the left channel, you can hear when she comes in halfway through. Miku doesn't always get the respect she deserves as a guitarist, but she has improved so much, that without her guitar, the Band-Maid "Sound" isn't there.
One thing the Lollapalooza video director got right with Hate?, or rather lucked into, is when they stayed with a full shot of Miku during her scream while she deftly played those descending chords into the musical break.
@@johnmatthew102 good point. I just wish more people would recognize just how much work that Miku has done and how far Miku has progressed. Both as a musician and as an artist
The _girls_ are all 30-32ish, they started the band 10 years ago. This Official Live is one of four excerpts from their 10th anniversary tour finale last November. The members don't reveal any personal information about relationships but everyone assumes they're single and childless. Miku Kobato, rhythm guitar and second vocalist is the founder and business/PR force that has kept the band moving forward from their beginnings with her guts and brains. Primary lyricist. She likes horse racing and poker and posting social media with her cat. Konami Tono, lead guitar is the primary music composer and workaholic. Mannered and mild in person she transforms to Mincho the wild performer on stage. MISA, bass is maybe the purest musician of the group. Painfully shy, she has been known for drinking whiskey during the set and playing more freely as she loosens up. Saiki Atsumi, lead vocals has grown into the consumate front woman. She is known as the taste czar of the band giving thumbs up or down on songs and creating the set list. She likes trains and sneakers and looking pretty. Akane Hirose, drummer energetic drummer with great double kick skills. Known for smiling while playing and eating a lot. She's a joker and a ham for the camera. Thanks for the reaction!
There are great information videos from Ohrenje for each member of Band-Maid, and are very well done and very informative. They go in this order, Saiki, Kanami, Akani, MISA, then Miku( who has three parts, as she is quite the Pigeon!) I think I got the order right, but Saiki is first and Miku is the last, for sure. If you don't do them on your channel I encourage you to watch them on your own at least.
Clap for the Wolfman he knows who's the most ! Misa just lets loose in the dual she's my favorite ! You Guys should check out "Don't You Tell Me" From the same concert for some more amazing bass ! Thanks Great Reaction .✌🤘
Glad to see Bonesy finally sobered up. lol "What the hell", is Misa's bass and Kanami's guitar having a little duel. lol. Always fun to watch them do that. They posted a 2 song video from Lollapalooza last year, "Dice/Hate?", lead singer Saiki is standing back and pretty much just laughing at those 2 going off. I agree Wolf, Misa and her bass are awesome, one of the big highlights of their music for me.
There is a very interesting video on UA-cam of an interview of all five girls on the Japanese TV show Music Gold Rush. It has English subtitles. They each have their own particular quirks; it is very hard to say which Maid has the weirdest personality❤🕊 ❤🌊❤🦍❤🥷❤👸🏻
Saiki is also a devoted fan of the Hanshin Tigers, the Kansai-based baseball team. She grew up in Yamanashi, which is closer to Osaka than Tokyo. The drummer Akane is also a Kansai girl, from Kobe. The Kansai region includes Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, the one-time capital Nara, and some surrounding prefectures.) Misa is from Okamoto and Miku from Kumamoto, both of which are even further to the west. Misa was teased in school for her accent after her family moved to Tokyo. Miku of course is a small pigeon and doesn’t even talk like a human being. But don’t dare tease her for anything. She is a tiny, cute force of nature. ❤🕊❤🌊❤🦍❤🥷❤👸🏻
If you would like to learn more about each member of Band-Maid, Orhenji has a documentary on each member where they give a bit of their background, how they came to be with Band-Maid, and a commentary by musicians (who play a similar instrument as the featured artist) of the ‘Maids’ musical ability. They are very well done.
9:49 SueSue: "... but the bass player is your favorite?" Wolfman: "Yes." SueSue: "See, next time we look at Band-Maid it will be somebody else." Wolfman: "Probably." You guys have it figured out!
Even though I disagree with Wolfman's comment about our lead guitarist will need more lessons to be as good as the bassist, I'm glad you enjoyed the live performance. Thank you for reacting to BAND-MAID.
Much thanks for a return to Band Maid, as mentioned by many already, there is a fan made docu series on each member that others have reacted to, excellent quality, my suggestion start with Miku Kobato founder of BM, her's gives quick history of band origins and tribulations. Watch others if interested full story. BM'24
Any Maids serving (as they call their songs) ROCKS!!! The ladies are in their early 30s now and have been rocking for almost 10 years. Try Thrill the track that blew them up on the world stage (the label was about let them go when this happened in 2015), Freedom, Onset, From now on, Without Holding Back, Hate? Are all great tracks and they have an extensive back catalogue of over 100 tracks.
As pointed out by others...If you want to learn a little about the ladies then check out Ohrenje's documentaries in the order of Saiki, Kanami, Akane, MISA, and Miku to finish.
I'm not sure what she's trying to say with this one. ha!ha! But yeah. The best breakup song ever. Saiki wrote the words for this one, and she doesn't mince her words. There is a series of documentaries of each member by Ohrenje. which will tell you everything about the band. Be sure to view them in the correct order. ua-cam.com/play/PLVvkhHgIsXRQ5K0KI7k0Hmofhas_f4xv8.html
Saiki (Lead V, 2nd lyricist) wrote the lyrics from a 3rd person prospective, Po! Side note: it appears Saiki is a "The Simpsons" fan, and wanted to use Bart's "I Hate you" phrase in a song, and here we have it, Po! They are all in their early 30's now, been together 10 years, ala the 10th anniversary tour final at Yokohama arena - Tokyo we are watching here. 🦍🍌
You’ve been missing out on Band Maid. Next time, maybe find a butler’s hat 🎩 for Bones, so he doesn’t feel left out. I’m an old blues rock cat who’s music taste is all over the map. Without exaggeration, Band Maid has more songs on my playlist than any other artist. Their catalog is that deep. Brilliant songwriting. Balanced musicianship. And if you’re intent on knowing more about them as people? You’re going to fall in love with them. Absolutely beautiful humans with no ego or selfishness. Here are my top Band Maid songs today: 1) “Don’t You Tell ME” (hard rock) 2) “Blooming” (pop punk) 3) “Daydreaming” (uptempo ballad) 4) “DICE” (hair metal pop) (FYI: “Hate?” isn’t even in my top 50)

After meeting on our US tour in 2022, "The Warning" will be making their memorable first visit to Japan with BAND-MAID! Thx, Sue Sue & The Wolfman!
Kanami has nothing to feel badly about: she's an excellent guitarist. It's just that, when you're handing-off with the Michael Jordan of rock bass guitars, the perspectives that are accorded to the relevant comparative elements can get a bit skewed.
MISA is best to me. Fami in LOVEBITES is fancier, but MISA is more melodic. LOVEBITES is more of a noodling showoff band. BAND-MAID are true songwriters.
Saiki makes sure you know what she thinks about cheaters, lol! A brilliant bass/guitar conversation between MISA and Mincho! Akane keeping the conversation going on in the song! Miku helps on the vocals and her rhythm guitar is just right!
THE best Hard Rock band in the universe. And in any parallel ones.
MISA is considered a lead bassist .
Great reaction ty
She definitely plays it like a lead instrument. She's a boss.

This is how perfection looks like! BAND MAID keep dominating the Rock world!Maidiac for life!!!

Saiki said thank you at the end. She usually speaks standard Japanese. However, her pronunciation of "thank you" was in the Kansai dialect. 🎀🤘

I'm a little surprised that they glossed over the "10 minutes of limp gymnastics" line... 🤣
They know they have an absolute weapon with MISA the Bassist and they are not afraid to use her.
Great to see you back

The PERFECT break up song. LOL. If you love Saiki you better tattoo it on your chest PO!
Kanami has nothing to feel badly about: she's an excellent guitarist. It's just that, when you're handing-off with the Michael Jordan of rock bass guitars, the perspectives that are accorded to the relevant comparative elements can get a bit skewed.

The thing is that Misa probably could play fancy lines if she wants to.
But Lovebites is an awesome band.
