Ah finally, I was getting suspicious that they were taking down negative reviews because I couldn’t find any lol I think people like to jump on the hype and aren’t honest with themselves so thank you for your genuine review! I really wanted someone to honestly review how this thing works in shaving the bikini area because that’s make or break for me.
Anyone who put good reviews like myself meant what they said I am sure...I havnt heard anyone talk bad about them until this video...Many ppl I know use them & they all love them ♡
one of the good outcomes of this crazy time is that tara is posting more! so glad you're back on youtube, girl. thanks for sharing your tips and your life 🖤
this is the first review I've found that was super critical of the razor, which i really appreciate, im still on the fence and might just ask for it as a christmas gift, either way i need to get out of the cartridge razor grift and safety blades are infinitely more sharp then what you get in the disposables. but I am interested that they're coming out with a smaller single edge one that might be better for the more ~personal~ places to shave. regardless great review.
This was so helpful!! Thank you for being totally honest in this review because $70 is a pretty penny!!! Also your jewelry in this vid is so pretty 🤩 maybe a jewelry collection vid?! ✨
79 bucks isn't that bad considering you have DE safety razors that are over $100. If you want a quality razor, you gotta pay up. And the blades are much cheaper than cartridges so you are saving money in the long run
Just want to say that everything about your aesthetic is beautiful! You are gorgeous, your jewelry is gorgeous, especially your earrings, your background is beautiful. And I appreciate your honest review!
I used a double edge razor for a few years when I was so committed to being zero waste and although I found it very easy to shave and didn't have problems with that, I really just gave up on having a stainless steel razor because its such a pain with the rusting issue. I always would forget to dry it off after my shower or even if I did, rust would always overtake it and getting it off was so annoying. Also, it was very heavy and dropping it in the shower was scary and broke it. I caved and got Billie which I absolutely love. Its so cheap, works amazing, and is cute. Realistically the waste is so minimal since I use the same blade for months.
@@pittielover202 I only needed to change the head every few months because I didn't use it much and wasn't shaving my entire body. Not recommended of course but that was just me commenting on how I switched from zero waste because the hassle wasn't worth the minimal waste
Really good review. I've had mine since 12/2019 and love it. If you're still using it and the handle's still a problem they've started carrying a rubber sleeve. Yes, it's more money, but only $5.
$79 is the price of about 2 packs of refill cartridges for store bought disposable razors...WELL WORTH $79!!!! This razor is the absolute BEST razor ever invented...BEST SMOOTHEST shave ive ever had...I will NEVER use another razor....Trust me when I say if you buy one you wont regret it ♡
You won me at your "hello" Almost sounds like some design improvements are in place and I appreciate your transparency about those not wanting to slice ya butt open spots 😁 In terms of cost it seems it easily covers some of the refill packs Ive bought in 2 purchases. I relately dabbled in the hard wax self-brazilian...loved it (though initially terrifying). I havent tried sugaring since I first tried making it and left a trail of taffy through the house that was very hard to clean up. I'm going to check it out again. The intro to your video advertised an at home laser hair removal device. So many options to go crazy over for waste management and glamour goals. I'm going to check out sugaring again. And, quite brave of you after the ankle to go where the sun don't shine ...except for that trend earlier this year 😉
Loved this honest video! I just finished shaving with my leaf razor for the first time and ya chica, the bikini area was rough! I usually shave it all and I gave up kinda half way through cuz it was giving me a little bit of razor burn that I usually do not get. So def a little learning curve in that area.
If you buy single edge safety blades like personna platinum they are much better for women bikini shaving because you dont get the bent metal edges that you get when you break a Double edges safety blade in half...I have used this razor for over a year now & it is my bestfriend! Dont give up on it just yet...trust me...practice with angles etc & before you know it you will be able to shave from top to bottom in 5 min!
Curious is you’ve used a safety razor prior to using the Leaf? I assume a lot of people raving are already coming from a low waste background, so they’ve been using a safety razor for a while. Comparing a traditional safety razor to Leaf is a HUGE improvement in ease of use, but comparing a plastic razor to the Leaf would probably be less user friendly and could have influenced your feelings?
You’re exactly right! It also comes down to the fact that I really just hate shaving in general now and much prefer sugaring lol. However, I do still use my leaf to shave my legs when I’m in a pinch these days. It works, and I generally like it.
I can't wait to receive my razor. For years i've been using Gillette disposable and Micro touch butterfly. I'm cheap and would just use a soda can for disposable.
Thank you for the review! Been hoping for a nice honest review of the Leaf razor. As a guy who shaves his head I go through a lot of blades. Also, awesome that I just happened to find a fellow TCer reviewing it!
i like that Razor, don´t love it , only problem imo is the head is too big specially the top part makes it hard to reach some places, i prefer THE TWIG from same company
Don't feel bad about cutting yourself. When I first started using a safety razor it was a twist to open, and it started to open up and the loose blade gave me a cut on my chin. Needless to say I let out a huge Fred Flintstone scream! So we've all done it.
You can also buy single edge safety razor blades which you dont need to break & are much smoother on the edges for bikini area ♡...I think maybe you might have had a blade on wrong that might have slid on you when tightening the screw down or something & it cut you...because it is virtually impossiable to cut yourself with this ive found ♡ The razor is great once you get used to how to use it...once you understand how to work the razor with use it will be your bestfriend 😁
@@lunaas1029 personna platinum coated single edge work great! Many of them are really good as long as they are name brand like personna...perma sharp...derby premium...derby proffessional...etc ♡ I only buy single edge safety razor blades...ebay has great deals on them! 🙂
@@lunaas1029 let me know how you like them! I think they are better in the leaf razors because they dont leave uneven bent metal ends that can snag skin etc & hurts...the single edge are smooth & dont stick out & catch the skin like when you break a double edge safety razor in half & use them...the double edge work fine for men but woman have private areas to tend to & they are not user friendly for women but the single edge safety razor blades are 🙂 Ive been a safety razor shaver for 10 years now & the leaf is the best shave EVER...such a easy smooth shave when you use the right blades for a womans needs...I can see why ppl would not like the razor in that area if they are using double edge blades they break in half to use.. they just dont work in that area of the body as well so I highly recommend the single edge safety razor blades in the leaf for women ♡
The thing I hate about the safety razor is that you have to take it apart and wash it out and dry it after every use. I’m assuming you’d have to do the same for the leaf, right?
Ellipsis Ampersand No need to be patronizing! :) Sometimes zero waste changes are a bit annoying. Of course it’s worth the annoyances to help the earth, that goes without saying I think.
Hi, I loved this video, and I was wondering, sorry if you've already addressed this, what do you use to shave with (soap, shaving cream, shaving bar, etc.)?
caroline kemp not a dumb question! There’s just not a lot of plastic involved. Most razors are disposable or have disposable plastic heads. But with one like this, you buy the razor itself once then put in the blades!
caroline kemp Yes, exactly what Nina said - not a dumb question! The Leaf for instance comes in a cardboard box and every component is metal. The blades are wrapped in paper - essentially, everything can be recycled unlike plastic cartridges which must be thrown away since they are a mix of plastic and metal!
The Leaf Razor is for someone who wants to save money long-term and help the environment by eliminating disposal plastic razors. There's 100's of different razors blades available at different price points. Try Derby or Astra Green blades, available on Amazon. BTW, Great review! Leave the other area for your partner or a professional to remove the hair.
To save a razors edge you have to dry it off completely. It is rust that will dull a blade. With a straight razor you would would use short strokes. The more edges used the longer the strokes as one edge chases behind the other. I am straight razor loyalist. Actual blade not disposables.
