Awesome! Glad to hear it sounded! I might hear an Allertor on March 16th go off for its last test before removal and replacement with a 3 phase Sentry siren.
saw this siren last year, looks like it got a new coat of paint or something, as I don'r remember it being this vivid, and on my video, it looks way less yellow.
Less bright setting = lower exposure, that’s why. It was sunny the day I went and overcast when you did. Cosmetically, the siren hasn’t been changed at all.
Sirens throughout most of Minnesota are tested on the first Wednesday of every month at or around 1:00PM. Test lengths vary, but they are typically between 1-3 minutes long.
Well these were made before the penetrator and it uses the screamer S10 rotor and stator while the penetrators use ACA allertor 125 rotor and stators. The intake and outside cone from the howler were used on the penetrator.
The primary differences between them are the horsepower ratings. The Howler is 5hp, P-10 is 10hp, and P-15 is 15hp. Another difference is how they rotate. The P-10 and P-15 use gearboxes and a chain to rotate like the Allertor does, while the Howler uses a belt. This is a lot cheaper than the chain drive systems, and is why most Howlers have rotation troubles.
@@mnsirens The Howler actually has a 10 H.P. motor. It was advertised as a rotating S-10. s208.photobucket.com/user/mrboy29/slideshow/Siren%2520Pics/ACA%2520Howler%2520Removal
TheSpiritStingray Is that what creates the dual-tone? I watched a vid of a Model 5, and it just produced the standard one signal. Another Model 5 was referenced as a 9/12 port, and it sounded like this. Sorry to toss questions like this, but I'm NO siren expert.
@@Bonemeal2 it's alright. Yes, the model 5T, ACA allertor, ACA howler, 500AT, SD-10, model 7T, and a few others all have the same port ratio, which is 9/12
Ya I'm aware of that, maybe sometime in the summer, it depends on what month I will not be in SCC and U of M with Sirens of NW WI, so I'm assuming August
Do you know if all Minnesota Counties test in Alert and Attack for one Minute each I would think all would do this testing type but this siren did 3 Minutes of Alert
What type of testing cycle a siren here in Minnesota does permits on who it is operated by. Only a few counties still use the civil defense signal (attack). A lot of places have discontinued the use of that signal and use them solely for weather-related purposes, which is what they do in Carver County (where this siren is located).

At least it’s a sentry and not a shitty 2001!
At least it's a sentry and not a 2001, 2001s rule sirenmanity
@@rarleyposting5546 2001s aren't bad, their just a bit to common, however they are still not bad sirens.
at least its not a ATI 🤷
Well, it's still there to this day
Great video! Nice to see a new HD video of a Howler.
Man these are rare! Nice catch!
0:16 XD, Great Video!

My video shows that its because it was brighter for mikey vs you
THIS SIREN WAS BROGHT BACK TO LIFE
Your So Lucky To Get 1 on Camera I want to get one on Camera Those Sirens are Pretty Rare
Awesome video!
Mix of a p-15 and a 2001...
Its a mix of Allertor and P15
@@thehackeroftornadosirens5133 whoo hoo
2001-dc?
P15 and allertor are pretty much the same in terms of sound if you are talking about both 9/12
It's be the younger brother of the Allertor
FIVE DTMFs AGAIN?!?!?!
Wisconsin Sirens ok
Great HQ video as always mate!
Nice job!
Awesome!
Hot! Lookin good
It went! Nice!
Wow! When do they start/test the sirens?

@@mnsirens cool in iowa ours get tested on the first Friday of every month normally around 1 or 2
Near me sirens are tested on the first Saturday of the month but idk what time tho
Looks similar to a penetrator # (No.) 10/15. Good video!
Difference motor cover is a bit more "square"

@@CarLover310 The horn on the ACA P-10/15 is designed a bit differently and is also bigger.
I'd imagine this sounding like an ASC RM-127, because of the name "Howler." Who else agrees?
...Following a special damper (just like a P-15).

What's the difference between a Howler and a Penetrator 10/15 because they all look the same to me lol

@@mnsirens So the Howler would be the Penetrator 5 aka P5 if it rotated using the same technique as the P10/P15 lol

Don't forget the Cuboid at the back, unlike the Penetrator 10/15 series (having both a cuboid and half-cylinder, of course).
Snowblower howler likes ACA
ACA howler.
Aca howler is a good siren
At 0:01 I see snowcone in the horn.
There was over 2ft of snow on the ground when this recording was taken. Was pretty miserable.
mn_sirens ok.
@@mnsirens but how could snow be miserable, other than the freezing cold temperature?
Sounds suspiciously like an Allertor.
Random22 I was thinking the same thing.
That's because they have the same port ratio (and I think the same chopper assembly too)

Same port ratio as the allertor

Why is there snow coming out the siren?!?!?!?!?
Because its Minnesota 🤣
snow blower aca howler!
Nice howler
Pause at 0:16 whoa
Sounds like an Allertor
I live near a ACA p 15
It's probably obvious by now but is that Erick in Cologne active?
Yes.
Holy crap why has nobody filmed it yet?! Alright I guess I'll take a 45 minute drive to go record it..
Do not go next month in February, the county will not be testing. Carver County begins seasonal testing of the sirens on the first Wednesday of March.
