This was really cool to see, love your input!
Mhm
Woah!
How do you not have at least 100k subs... that was a banger video!!
You better remember to mention Pat next time.
the same video that i subscribed to you on
29:17 Fun Fact: Pokemon Showdown is actually watched by TPC, they allow them to do whatever they want, as long as the Pokemon they have in the main meta (SV OU, UU, RU, NU, PU, ZU) is available in game, which is why Showdown doesn't allow you to play the Hisuian Pokemon normally due to them not being in game yet
Edit: Something I forgot to mention is that TPC has specifically told them to not gain money out of Showdown.
They do however has CAP-Mon which is essentially Fakemon and I’m not entirely sure how the companies feel about that minuscule proton of the website
@@itsturniptime3699 «MAIN meta»
Never knew
I AM glad that TPC at least lets them do other fun stuff like National Dex!
Can we just appreciate pat for always watching the sponsor segments and merch of the videos he reacts to and also extra promoting them to help out the original creator?
Free promo, they didn't pay pat so it's free promo, can't believe pat is sabotaging his own channel smh
Bro sabotaging?

Ah yes, the 7 sins of the Pokemon community, according to what's been put on the internet. Lust, Lust, Lust, Lust, Lust, Lust, and Deviantart.
For anyone who wants to know the 8 deadly sins:
1. Lust
2. Greed
3. Sloth
4. Wrath
5. Pride
6. Glutoney
7. Envy
8. Not being subscribed to patterrz
I'd argue that the EV/IV grind is the age old problem of trying to pad out playtime in a badly thought out way that ends up making you not want to play it anymore. As a fan of the games NIS makes, I've had to deal with this problem *a lot*
the fact that we went through the lust section without hearing "Did you know" was honestly surprising
As someone who had horrible luck whilst shiny hunting, I think gluttony is the best way to describe it especially when you finally find a shiny snorlax after 12k encounters just for your save data to fucking corrupt
I personally never saw the whole drive behind finding a pokemon with a different color, but with no mechanical differences at all from the normal ones... If a shiny had different stats, different abilities or SOMETHING that made them play differently, i could maybe see the appeal.
But to me at least, the only shinies that felt special to me was my shiny Ariados in Y and female Combee in Legends Arceus, because they happened at random without looking for them during a casual playthrough
@@skynet0912 law of scarcity
The more rare it is, the more inherintly valuable it is, no matter what it actually is
The fact it's a reskin doesn't matter, it's the fact its ludicrously rare in game that does
@@skynet0912 its not about the shiny its about the sense of accomplishment you get with it
@@godzillagod9752 I guess i just never saw the accomplishment in getting something you can just brute force with enough time to eventually beat the odds, but even then still not get anything of actual mechanical value out of it...
I will happily do the same quest dosins of times to get that 1% drop in a game, but only as long as that drop offers a mechanical difference. I think i just need the justification of "this has bigger numbers than the common stuff!" to talk myself into spending hours getting it.
@@skynet0912 fair point but im one of those people that if i start something i have to finish it
I have been playing Pokémon ever since the 90’s and I can say Scorbunny is a lot better then a Pokéball with eyes. Oh, it’s evolving? Congratulations, it’s now upside down.
Verlicify or however their name is spelt, is the definition of toxicity in the community. Can’t stand them
Theres a name I haven't heard in forever. Is he still a thing?
Isn't that the furry who talks about Amoongus
Who’s that and what’d they do?
@@xempororhxppyxhe makes videos dunking on everything and everything
10:15 i miss that man . The vs series you did with him bring backs memories
"Hex Maniac? Ok, I'm gonna scroll untill I see- Okay, I didn't need to scroll."
Beautifully funny.
with gardevoir you don't even have toclick images its that bad
I get why Pokémon doesn’t want to make a Shodown-esc platform themselves. For one, they want the competitions to basically be ads for their games. If it were a free website, there wouldn’t be much financial incentive.
Secondly, Pokemon is very big on the whole “these are YOUR Pokémon” attitude. They’re all about making sure you can have any Pokémon from any previous gen in your Home roster (besides physical gen 1/2 carts). Making an official site where you can just generate any of them would kind of break that illusion.
My idea to kind of meet in the middle is to make a stadium-esc mode, where players rent any 6 mons and can freely customize the moves, stats, etc, within the legal limits. All you would have to do for tournaments then is save your preferred rental team for wireless play.
It don't need to be free though? they could just make a subscription service game.
8:59 In my local Target there was a sign saying that they wouldn’t be selling any trading cards due to safety concerns around this time. One of most bizarre things ever.
Okay after watching the vid...Wow that vid from Rogue is hella well made. Props to him for making it.
When you ruin Gardevoir for so many people including me because of the R34 that’s everywhere
I can’t get over the dude sounding exactly like Mordecai from Regular Show
I unironically like gardevoir for its power and moves.
Oh, and for my ralts hat dreams
I kinda do it already but with Vaporeon
@@Liliana_the_ghost_catI’m kinda upset by what the internet did with vaporeon because it’s actually a great Pokémon
@@isuapig6705 I mean. I can go either side here tbh
@@Liliana_the_ghost_cat I said kinda because a small part of me enjoys it (in more ways than one)
@@isuapig6705 oh. I see~
16:29 He forgot to include the part where this almost exclusively applies to SONIC games, not SEGA games. Streets of Rage Remake who?
The more you say his name the more powerful he becomes.
I get that this is a new upload but I can't help but feel like I've seen this exact reaction video before and it's driving me crazy lol
Not many companies can get away with selling the same game multiple times except Pokemon... and FIFA... and every other sports game
I got Shield and my only issue was that I couldn't buy a top hat.
EDIT: I just got to the Wrathful Person, and I just have to say that the only time I'd heard the name before was a SCIENCE of video where he apparently figured out how to Pay Day Farm really efficiently.
I always forget how cultured patterrz is
As for the "showdown in game" point, I think that it would work great as a post-game facility. Whether it is stand-alone or part of a battle frontier, it would be a great addition. You could then copy battle teams from the facility to your online battle teams and have a setting to enable them.
Everyone! Run!
THEY'RE SPREADING TO OTHER PLATFORMS!
I hear “prideful Pokémon community member” and my brain immediately goes to PChal
facts
Who tf is PChal
@EgZhiGen1949 PChal stands for Pokémon Challenges
Jan
Genning in Pokémon for Competitive use is literally just like using a battle simulator but without it actually being a battle simulator
pat, you cannot say platinum is the same game as diamond and pearl.
Crystal, emerald, fair. but platinum is actually an expanded game
Emerald is different enough from RS as well, idk about crystal though.
14:40 Pokemon Brick Bronze was FULL of microtransactions
So they broke the #1 rule of fangames DONT MONETIZE IT
As someone “newer” to Pokémon (if you consider Gen 7 new) I’ve dealt with my fair share of a lot of these sins. If I say something like “SwSh are decent games” you bet your bottom dollar there’s gonna be a lot of wrath thrown around. I just wanna enjoy funny creature game and collect as much Pokémon as I can (gotta finish that LivingDex)
I'll be honest, I was just sitting on my chair waiting for the moment the V(irgin) name got dropped. That dumbass probably fits in like 5 sins, if not more.
istg am i the only one who didnt have giant lag spikes in s/v ???
I didn’t either
Idea: After completing the games story, you gain access to a tool that allows you to gen pokemon from the game itself. These Pokemon are assigned to special teams that can only be accessed in online battles and tournaments. Basically, allow everyone to easily gen Pokemon but you can only access generated Pokemon in online battles.
To be fair it was stated that people in pokemon world married and had kids with pokemon, also to top it off like bruh its pretty obvious that Gardevoir and Lopunny was made as furry bait
I can understand lopunny but I don't understand gardevoir it doesn't really look sexy
Patterz is already responsible for one sin, remember the smash or pass video 💀
Love your vids!
I think i avoided gluttony, as i didn't have a DS, so gen 4 and 5 completely passed me by... So i had a sort of huge break for two entire generations, and i feel like it's the only reason i still enjoy Pokemon today, taking into account that Red was my first game in the series, and if i had given into my gluttony and played all of them, i would probably have been completely burned out on Pokemon these almost 30 years later...
You can't just PK Hex a whole competitive team even if all moves/stats/abilities (etc) are otherwise legal?
They did make Competive easier though like saved move slot, and bottle caps
What do bottle caps do?
@@GlytchGames Bottle Cap or Golden Bottle Cap help to increase a pokemon's IVs
I would love to have a post-game shop in each game where you can buy rare candies, bottle caps, mints, patches, capsules, shards and vitamins for basically nothing. An PLA-style move tutor would also be great. One-use TMs are nonsense.
Game Freak always seems to gatekeep competitive play behind hours of grinding.
Even though I’m one of many people who don’t actually know everything that goes into developing a game, I used to be on the side of wondering why they didn’t just hire more people to help with game development, but I just realized why it could be a better idea to keep things from getting too big.
1. Leaks. They’ve had a hard enough time trying to keep too much from getting out about the ideas and such for each game. At the very least, by limiting the amount people who know one thing or another, it could be easier to distinguish where a leak comes from, if any. Also, it’s impossible to keep track of every single individual who is supposed to be around and when they’re supposed to be around. I’ve never seen it, but I imagine corporate espionage is an actual concern for businesses that are actually doing decently.
2. Imagine having someone work on a project that’s meant to be kept under wraps, only to need to fire them for whatever reason. Some people might seek revenge by either leaking valuable information or even leaving something in the programming to try and sabotage or ruin the company’s reputation.
These are just a few things that came to mind when trying to consider the other side of things.
Envy was me when my gf is brand new to pokemon and im over running around the map to finish my violet dex so i can shiny hunt and out of the blue at work my gf send me a pic of her running into a FULL ODDS shiny empthra!!!
20:52 i spent 10 years shiny hunting riolu. From diamond to SwSh. I then proceeded to find one in SV in like 2-3 hours randomly. Literally went to the bathroom and was about to go to sleep and a golden puppy was on my screen

My first (and so far, only) Shiny pokemon I've ever gotten in a mainline Pokemon game was a Charjabug (now Vikavolt), my very first encounter after getting my Rowlett in Moon.
I've played Fire Red, Sapphire, Emerald, X, and Omega Ruby, and have never gotten a Shiny. And in Alola, my very first catch was a Shiny. It was just meant to be.
10:02 That's why there is two boxes of pokemon cards at Walmart everytime I go. That is awful.
i found a shiny gible in my first time in area zero in scarlet
Lmao Gen-wunners went extinct like in 2020 haven't heard about them since
17:39 by not long he meana like 2-3 hours after its first revealed to the world. I know because there was r34 for the s/v female trainer(mc) as she was known at the time like hours afterwards. The only thing faster than darkness(qhich already outspeeds light) is r34 artists.
4:15 Easy solution, just play showdown
I'd say that patterrz himself committed wrath. Just watch his nuzlocke death montages. Wish he'd create more death montages
16:30 about that "Sega does what Nintendon't" thing, there's a pair of amazing video from a channel named Moon Chanel that might make if not change your mind, at least makes see the situation in a new light.
The first one: why is nintendo so overprotectiv of their IP help making sense of some of their decisions, still some things are not realy excusable, but some becomes understandable.
The second one is it's counterpart "Why Isn't SEGA Overprotective of its Intellectual Property?" and once the video end, I don't think you will see the way SEGA does thing with Sonic the same way ever again, as it's far, far more shady and pernicious.
Oh, I love those! I've felt weird about the way people literally worship companies for a long time now and it just weirds me out how SEGA is an exception to a lot of people. Yes, SEGA is lenient on the sonic front you only have to look at how they treat fan-made stuff from other franchises they own that it isn't just because "they love the fans" and that SEGA is not our friend.
I had 0 issues with scarlet and violet
was i the only person who didn't get a single frame drop through the entirety of violet
27:20 you do have to be careful with that. That’s how we got Duke Nukem Forever.
Bruh the issue isn't "they don't want people to play less" or w/e, it's that the game isn't balanced around competitive. They endorse certain competitive environs, but the game isn't meant for that kind of thing.
about the wrath, the fucking 1 of every pokemon vs. 1 billion lions debate
kill me
Pokemon showdown will be its own game to port pokemon to any main game series thst comes to the Nintendo switch version
"The toxic parts of the community have been axed."
HAHA, the TCG side of things has something to say about that.
i love how he's joking and stuff until we get to THAT guy where he got serious and actually raging
because of the 2020 trading card situation, a walmart in my town will only let you buy ONE pack of each set. They've done it through all trading cards too. Magic the gathering, pokemon, baseball cards....all of it. ONE pack.
What is waifu2x and why is it bookmarked on pat's computer
No dude, the seven deadly sins has Elaine.
Stupid reason
I wish we could decide the IVs and nature of our Pokemon when they hatch from eggs. That way, we wouldn't be able to create them uncontrollably, but they would still be accessible

18:40 jmc season 2 in a nutshell
Honestly, I find it even more disturbing that people make lewd art of underage characters in Pokémon. Just make an OC for your filth, don't add pedophilia to the pile.
That and when people sexualise animal Pokémon, not even furries but beastiality. I hate that too
perfect Pokémon game has all 4 gimmicks
Im a gen oner and i love the games that have come out afterwards because i know games evolve i will always have a special place for gen 1 but it wont ever cloud or define my judgement on the franchise.
Long time watxxher first time commenting and I just need to know do you watch/read one piece?
Yep!
Shield got mommy melony while sword got her son. Win for shield
i have spent like over a hundred hours on sword, but my parents limit my screen time.

It's not illegal, Batman.
i dont have a frame rate problem
me when im a gen 1 person, i grew up playing through pokemon blue enough times to have the game memorized, but when it came to gen 2-9 I've played at least 1 game of every gen, i welcome change as it keeps the games from becoming too boring with the same stuff, im glad they got rid of the large amount of caving bc that literally is the worst part in the games purely bc of the rock type pokemon not having enough variety, right next to going over the ocean, gen 9 gives a very balanced amount of scenery that really makes up for all those hours stuck in the caves,,

the sins? from which year? we could make hour long videos on it every year.
it isn't game freak that is responsible for the bad games, it is the pokemon company themselves.
PAT, WHAT IS THAT THUMBNAIL?
It's called Hentai, and it's art.
I wish that people being nice was true with some random fellow pokemon fans. I ran into very toxic players when bdsp was a new game. I just said this game was harder than normal and asked for help, they would say "get good twinkle toes" with a bunch of crying emojis spammed. Thats why i never talk to competitive players as they always act like this.
And i don't even want to play competitive, it feels like those who complain about the games being too easy are the ones who train their pokemon to be competitive and the npcs won't be on their level. We really need 3 difficulty modes.
And I had to avoid some channels to avoid spoilers and that didn't help at the end of the day asa channel I never watched before had a major spoiler on the thumbnail.
And I do remember how the pokemon cards got scalped and I was confused why they where disappearing so fast. And this was after the disappointment of not getting the amiibo cards
I don't notice the frame drops for violet but the bugs are noticable.
Sexualised Gardevoir is my most hated sin of the pokemon community

*IT'S NOT ATTRACTIVE*
*_I AM GOING TO BREAK SOMETHING FOR THE 17th TIME LIKE EVERY OTHER TIME I REMEMBERED THAT GARDEVOIR IS THE MOST SEXUALISED POKEMON_*
yup
''smogon'' is snobby about how people play the games
The bit about Gamefreak being greedy and trying to take money where ever they can is just plain wrong. Those decisions are by the Pokemon Company. Not Gamefreak. Even in the example of saying they're not as bad as EA, is comparing a Developer, who's job is to make the games, to a Publisher, who finances all the money and marketing. Take a guess who's going to actually be in charge of deciding how to take money from customers.
Ah yes the 7 sins
I’m the gluttony one, since I’m a shiny hunter. Seriously shiny hunting is like alcohol,it’s far too addicting and I have 13 boxes of shinys lol.
