No they didn't, 1) no official device has been publicly tested and numbers are heavily inflated so much so that HP, Lenovo put a big disclaimer in the pre-sale order form that the claims do not reflect reality. 2) Linus Tech Tips had to sign a non disclosure agreement for just holding a Snapdragon test device, he was not allowed to run tests or even use any application, the laptop had to be plugged in at any times and only was allowed to unplug it for 1 minute so no estimate could be performed on the battery use. 3) 90% of windows apps will run in 386 emulation as they currently do not support native ARM, also third party software don't support natively ARM and will also be using Rosetta emulation. 4) To much paid advertising and pushing, suspicious with fictive numbers and no real tester allowed to even test the device. While Apple doesn't need advertisement, their publicity comes from actual performance and tests.
Have you tested Windows on Arm? 90% of Windows Apps (i guess you mean official ones) have an ARM version there. The problem is the third party ones where the majority doesn't have a version for that. The Emulation is supposed to be as good if not better than Rosetta 2 according to Microsoft, so we gotta wait.

I write software mostly for Windows server/client automation for PLC and reverse engineer hard and software to make it compatible in case support have stopped mostly for outdated factory systems. First you need to understand what ARM is, its not just a new kind of CPU and drivers can be written for it no it isn't like that. Intel and AMD have been designing CPU's for ages and the architecture is x386 which means all software and software development is designed that they will output x386 binaries. To output binaries that directly support ARM would mean they lose x386 support (you can't have it both) To compile binaries that support ARM you need to adjust a lot of code, and you need to redesign all compilers for it which takes a lot of time. Apple has done from the start, every system command, every system binary everything has been optimized for ARM and compiled for ARM. Microsoft hasn't, and the proof is actually embedded in their downloadable ISO installers, most of it is emulated only the kernel part and come critical driver components have been "roughly" written to support ARM. Emulation is not good, you always lose, it's heavily polling the CPU and memory. Third party developers still don't have sufficient info and tools available to develop apps for ARM, so even there it will take a while. Eventually in order for it to work Windows must force all developers (when the info and tools are available) to develop and publish their app optimized for ARM and x386. But i doubt that they will do this, unlike Apple their require all apps to be ARM only since they switched from Intel. Apple also never stopped developing apps for ARM architecture, before Intel they where ARM but they kept a development team on the ARM architecture till they where ready to make the switch back.

As a long time owner of Surface Laptops, and MacBooks, Surface will be the king for productivity/business, especially if you use Microsoft Office 365, and MacBook may be the king for content creators especially who use Mac only software.
I owned microsoft surface pro 3,6 and macbook air and pro. Speaking my own experience, apple IOS simply blows window away. Microsoft seemed never could make one thing consistently good. I will be watching the new surface laptops.

Most if not all windows today are run on x86-64 (Intel and amd chip) and most apps are still not available on arm.perhaps theres some productivity apps like photoshop, ms office, etc.while you can run an x86-64 apps on arm with the x86-64 emulator,the performance and optimization of it is very poor. Or if you tryna run an app from the windows 7 or lower era,well its impossible. So if you only use productivity apps and battery life is what you after,just use your macbook
Even though I really like the new snapdragon x elite, I’ve used many Windows laptop and I’d say that most of them are unstable compared to my sister’s macbook (I have 2 laptops with core i7 1165g7 and core i5 11320h). Also, I hate that copilot+pc because of security not as good as Apple Intelligence.
Fastest windows PC's ever built in 2 VERY specific areas. integrated NPU, and single core performance per watt... Neither of which are likely to matter much. Battery life is pretty much the only big plus here, everything else will feel pretty much identical and will not be noticeable in daily use.
yeah and thats the great thing about it bruh...also in the future this means way slimmer laptops and laptops without fans...it would be so cool to have a windows laptop with a long lasting battery and the same form factor as a macbook air

My mac runs games fine, using the M3 with 16gb ram. Don't expect to run games with any base version as you are short on memory. Infact my M3 outperforms my Lenovo gaming laptop i bought last year.

Just the fact that such a feature exists, almost proves on its own that Apple is not collecting and selling your data, unlike Microsoft and Google.
