By the Wes, this is what happens when you marry eight times out of ten, a woman that’s preferably older over the age of 30+ with all due respect. They’re set in their ways (aka won’t compromise or can be molded. Hence the term bride and groom), and they’re definitely not changing for anyone. Thank God, you didn’t have kids!
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. I am so sorry that you came across such bad people... It seems that they were predators who saw that you were a lost young man and lured you into a trap, showing you excessive feelings, so that they could later take advantage of you. You were really manipulated in a nasty way. It is a blessing that you have it behind you now! I hope that your stay in Poland will erase the sad moments in you! I am so glad that you like it in Poland!:) All the best!:)
Hey Wes, You are probably the only youtuber falling into the "passport bro" category, that is respectful, genuine and not affraid to be vunerable. I really hope you'll find your happiness and balance in Poland- thank you for breaking stereotypes!
I see your videos, and it really seems like you are lost and still searching. I would suggest starting to put down some roots and build stability. It always seems like you are running from something, but it's really something inside of you. I hope you find peace or whatever it is you're looking for. I think growing some roots somewhere and taking it easy for a couple of years would help you find someone and build an actual life. This doesn't mean you have to stop traveling, but think of it as establishing a headquarters.
I'm a gringo living in the US and married 10 years to a Colombian woman. You did the right thing leaving Colombia and your church. Some churches can be quite controlling and you were right to walk away. At the same time, however, please don't walk away from Jesus. He alone has the words of eternal life.
It’s funny how people expect the church to somehow represent God. The church is full of sinful humans. God is perfect. It’s weird people think the church represents God. Jesus represents God.
Hopefully now your life will just get better and better. It's a rare thing for people in general to see good outcomes of bad situations and self reflect. Seem like a nice chap, all the best 👍
I respect you for sharing us your vulnerability on UA-cam. I’m glad you visited Latin America and lived there for a moment. Good that you settled down in Europe. I don’t blame you to leave Colombia. For my safety I’ll just tell you I’m in the country of Caldas and you being in Manizales. Even though Manizales is that safest city in Colombia it still has its cons
My best advice to folks who are going to Colombia is to never consider having long term engagements with Colombians. That means, no marriage and definitely no business ventures. You will get burned hard.
A message to young guys who are finding love through rocky paths….love is recognized in the quiet times. You will be with your significant other and in a quiet moment feel…. Feel…hey you know this feels like contentment/partnership
One thing I can say as a pole, we'd be really glad, if you choose to stay here and fulfil your dreams. You seem like a really genuine person, that's been through a lot, and I respect that you didn't give up on your life.
Wow. That message from your ex's father was disturbing. So much for following the teachings of "God", right? I swear, some religious people are downright hypocrites. It's amazing how fast you managed to get that divorce completed. I'm glad you got out of there.
Woooo, what a crazy ride! I feel I can relate to you, I used to make thoughtless decisions because I felt like I want it, I love this person or I had fun and just want it to continue. It might look like a crazy, spontaneous, fun life from the outside, but I can imagine that from the inside its really heavy... I feel somehow moved with your story and it seems to me that you're looking for love and acceptance in all these pathways you tried. Maybe it will sound super shallow but in the end to find peace it requires to find this love and acceptance in yourself. Then you will stop throwing yourself on people that will sense it and try to harm you. And potential happiness is anywhere, no matter the country (although Poland is at least a bit safer I guess hahahah).
I lived in Medellin Colombia for 8 months in 2021. I could'nt wait to get out of that violent sh*t hole. Having traveled to many countries throughout the world I have never felt more unsafe than I did while in Medellin Colombia.
Wait....why did u feel that way? I spent 2 yrs in Colombia due to covid...and had the Greatest time of my life! Every night i had dates and drank every day!
yeah i never felt safe in Colombia at all....not even just from criminals but from the government/cops too! if colombian women were ugly they'd get 0 tourists LOL
I'm really sorry for what happend in your live i also had a lot of bad expierience in those fields, my family from my mother side was strictly religious, in a toxic way, because of that i had to run away after my father died, because they would simply destroy me mentaly. I believe in God even after so many traumatic events in my life, now i just trying to do what my heart is telling me and not follow any rules made by church. But putting that a side! Welcome in Poland!! (I know i know is a little bit late now🙄), sadly so many things have change for bad lately and i hope you find your place here, but overall Poland is beautiful country, feel free to visit west side of the country as well, here where i live we have wine festival in september:p

There’s two sides of the story what were you doing wrong? Marriage is between 2 people you had to be something wrong also don’t paint your ex wife as the only one who messed up
No, Colombian women are really that toxic. But with Intense love bombing in the beginning. You don't have to do anything wrong for a narcissist to discard you eventually.
I explained it more thoroughly in the video I made just about the divorce. We both made mistakes for sure but only one of us crossed the line, so I stand by my decision. I don't think she is a bad person though, nor have I ever said she was on my channel.
Here's my 2c for what it's worth: She didn't make unreasonable demands. In your video you state these problems: 1. She didn't want you going to bars/clubs 2. She didn't want you going to other churches 3. She didn't want you talking to other girls 4. She didn't want to leave her role in the Church to give you attention 5. Threats 6. Her and her family didn't want to learn other culture/language My objective take: 1. Who would want their spouse going to bars/clubs? 2. Church is an organization. Comparing it to the corporate world - if you were a leader in an organization would you want your spouse supporting the competitor? Appears to be a slap in the face. 3. Would you want your spouse talking/making friends with the opposite sex at the gym? 4. Is it fair to ask someone to give up their passion for someone else's neediness? 5. I get the threat thing. No need for that. Also, the intrusion isn't cool. 6. Unreasonable to expect this if you're a foreigner living in someone else's country. If you met her in the US it would make more sense. At the end of the day all this was told to you upfront. Perhaps you didn't take them seriously when they set expectations? The one thing that could play heavily in your favor would be her virginity. If she wasn't a virgin the strong religious values argument loses its weight. If she was then her positions carry more weight.
Once Wes said “Being Catholic in Colombia doesn’t mean virgin before marriage “. This is just a day before his marriage. You should watch that video if it is available? It is very complicated story than we can handle if you are an Asian first generation parent in the west . Wes is a very honest person, never hides anything that’s the reason that I have been watching all his videos. Most of the Indian kids lies and pretends that they like their culture and customs. Actually they do this to get financial support for all their life from poor Asian parents who never enjoy their life in the west. They sacrifice all their life for their pretending kids and grandchildren. They believe they do this for higher cost for their children and grandchildren.
So basically, points 1 to 3 go in her favor whereas points 4 to 6 go in his. There's another one he doesn't mention here but that he discussed in a previous video and it is that she didn't like him to smoke weed and to be honest, I agree with her on that one. What he said in his defense is that she used to spend most of her time at work or at church so he ended up bored at home and that's why he used to to smoke and play video games as he was restricted to go out too. I definitely feel that she prioritized her church over her marriage and she wasn't willing to give up things of her life style once she married but that same thing about not giving up parts of the lifestyle once they married also applies to him.
nah it wasn't all told to me upfront. In the beginning it was about how much Jesus accepted me but as soon as I got married, now it's about how the church will control my life. Unreasonable expectations were placed on me when the same expectations didn't apply to other leaders or people that attended the church. It's the hypocrisy that I could not agree with.
@@WheresWesI don’t pretend to know what your church did. However , the idea that we are supposed to submit ourselves to God and the church is orthodox Christianity 101. Jesus did this right lol. Jesus lived poor- not rich. He was a servant- not a ruler. He got crucified - not living his best life. Nothing about Christ was about pursuing fun or pleasure. Again, I have no idea what your church did. But any real Christian will say that Gods will is #1. Jesus before the cross… not my will but yours be done. Essentially all of the Christian faith is about submitting your will to Gods to pursue the will of the Father. Obviously the death threat stuff is wrong and only you know what your wife and church did. But to say that the church or wife was asking you to change your actions is pretty basic and even wrong expected in many cases. As long as it’s for moral good.
I think your ex-wife is a coward. She wouldn't turn against someone belonging to her own community/church even for her husband out of fear of being criticised and to maintain her reputation. She was really submissive to her church as if she had no will power or own opinions and values outside of it. This church looks more like a sect too me than a regular/catholic church.
Well, if you hear the threatening message that the church pastor sent to him in full, you can notice that the pastor refers to Wes' ex wife as his "daughter" and he also points out that he has all the passwords of her social networks so he can access to all of her information so you can imagine the level of conditioning she must have.
...sorry to hear the rent story you mentioned....i learned Never tell anyone when your leaving!...why..because they will pull a fast one on you...women as well! As for girls saying their pregnant.....id be rich if i got paid when a girl in Colombia said that! Dont bother with that...they are Alwaysss with another local dude who dont want them and put the blame on the other guy!...the sucker
To be honest with you man, as a Colombian myself and seeing how my fellow Colombians decided to shoot themselves in their feet by voting for Gustavo Petro; it is good that you left Colombia... if it was already insecure back then when you went there, you can imagine how insecure it is now with all the economical recession that this far left wing government has brought in with its bad decisions and the alliances it has made with Venezuela... Also, your ex wife didn't seem to have the character to leave the country so even if things had worked out between you two, I don't think she would have been willing to move countries with you even if Colombia is a sinking ship at the moment.
Bro WTF does Gustavo Petro have to do with anything? Colombia hasn't changed culturally in the past 2 years, it's the same it has been for the last 25 years. As for his marriage, religious people are the worst, always with their double standard... very common in Colombian society.
What's up, Wes, Always remember what happened to you. that's the reason i don't show girls in medellin that i have something with them in my videos. I had to delete like 3 videos with the same girl. She thould me erase my video, and i did.
I'm absolutely sorry for what happened to you, however, please don't give up on religion. Catholic Church is truly The Way. You've just met bad people...
In my experience, Colombians are only superficially nice, and once you get peak inside of them, you see lack of character and good values among other negative traits.
@@dillavery2696 I feel sorry for guys like you who can not be with the woman of your race, culture, or country and are around the world tasting who is better only because you need to feel in your mother's womb again.
Yeah, seeking help in religion and religious groups/cults is such a bad decision - always. Even if it's an established religion and religious institution, it makes a person less able to be responsible for their lives, because there's this "god" entity who "has your back" and "decides fate", so you can't argue with it. Not to mention that at the end of the day institutionalized religion is always about money and power. The cults and fringe religious groups are of course the worst offenders. A person should be very weary of religious groups and the more fringe and less popular the group, the more vigilant one has to be.
To start well in Poland, you have to shave off your mustache, because for young people it is quite embarrassing. Unless it is a full beard in the Latin style. Miłego pobytu w PL. Twoje video są cool!
I don't think in his peer group there is such a need, mustache although rare fashion choice over the full beard are quite frequent nowadays, looks f.ex Dawid Podsiadlo
Wes, very nice heart-felt video where you opened up and cleansed your soul. You seem to be a genuinely good man, who has suffered some pain bcos of the circumstances you’ve found yourself in. Only my opinion, but speaking in general terms, Poland may not be the healing medicine you need right now. The people have been hardened by the former communist regime, and if they didn’t live through it, they were raised by parents who did. You may be more compatible with an Asian or Latin American girl bcos of their warmth that is inherent in their culture. This is not designed to take a cheap shot at the Polish people. They are good people, but bcos of their history they are not initially warm and you have to work very hard to gain a friend. Over to you!
@LunaMiel186 communism fell over 30 years ago, times and people have changed. And I would say that the younger generation, Wes' generation, has no problems establishing relationships with foreigners. Besides, it is a very individual matter. Anyway, I hope that no matter where, Wes will finally find peace and love. That's what I wish for you Wes!
Hey Wes so glad you explained some of things you went through in Colombia. I was wondering why you were bashing Colombia but now I understand you better. Give yourself time don’t rush into anything. Let your 💔 mend first so you can be happy in your next relationship😊. Wishing you the best I will be following along on your adventures.
This was such a good honest video. The only thing I think in the marriage you didn't understand what it meant to be part of a G12 Colombian church. Born again third world Christians are hard core, the church is your life and most of your time is spent with your church brothers and sisters. Maybe they didn't explain it to you properly the expectations. I still miss my church but I had to leave because I couldn't keep denying that I was gay to myself. Unless you were asking your wife for butt sex or something clearly immoral (like to stop going to church) your wife was supposed to submit to you, if she didn't then she was wrong. I hope you maintain your faith though Wes
He could ask, she could say no. Not going to church was not that immoral, either - she should have her own personal relationship with God as well as should He. They could skip that service every now and then and enjoy company of each other with without feeling guilty ... You should have peace in God even being a gay. Your way with God may be different to that of the people who still are in the church you loved, but it does not mean you have no relationship with Him. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus ...
I dated a Brazilian chick, she was crazy. Woke feminist, promiscuous, drank, smoke and party all the time, into lgbt crowd, suggested open relationship multiple times, mad tattoo and piercings, very insecure, bad relationship with family and father, bad morals, overall a bad character. Now I'm dating a traditional Vietnamese girl, religious (I'm personally not very religious but doesn't bother me) , believes in marriage for life, family oriented, great cook, gentle and kind personality, a total one 180 from that Latina chick. I would not consider seriously dating a Latina and would not recommend another Asian brother to do so, unless she is 100% committed to you and your asian culture, family, as you are their Latino culture.
Agreed, Latinas are awesome short term partners, but never to be considered for anything that requires long term commitment. There are way better women from other races for that.
U couldn't see the signs because you was new to the culture, there's people like that everywhere. There's good n bad everywhere, u just chose badly, your fault
I have subscribed a long time but stopped watching until now. I always felt you're smart and talented but was quick to judge and lacked a since of maturity as I did at your age and many others as well. It seems as often the case when we go through a difficult time, as we all do, we come out broken or stronger. I am happy you took the latter. God Bless you and good luck on the re-launch as I reengage. Thank you!
when God loves someone He puts him in some sort of trials That would enlighten his heart. That he gets more wisdom And start ditching out this life Life is around 70 years. Compared to the hereafter is infinity.. So A few years of trials is not that a big deal compared to infinity God give you 2 eyes And 2 trillions of neurons in your brain Before the creation of earth 18 billion years before that He saw every single emotion in ur heart He knows what s the best for u and for ur future He connected the dots That ur brain couldn't fathom how to connect Islam is a good religion also But people don't understand the deep meaning of the verses
I've gained valuable insights from your stories and wish you all the best in your endeavors. You are an incredibly intelligent individual, though I believe having a supportive partner that you can trust and respected could further enrich your life. I started watching your videos long time ago and i have the same experiences here in the USA as yours; today, i am in a relationship with a Colombian woman, but as i see it she is the opposite than your ex; very respectful and very professional independent woman
The death threats sound insane. It's crazy how a community can turn on you because you are an outsider. Dealing with Latin family sounds like a pain in the ass if you girl isn't 100% on your side. I'm glad you are out of that situation Wes.
Great video, Wes! I was wondering if you saw David from Life With David when he was in Poland. If I'm not mistaken, I think you two are friends or acquaintances.

From all the Ortographical errors in the man's message you can tell they're only looking for money and they don't care.
Daaamnn you’re already divorced???… 😬
Haha stuff happens.
Props for being for vulnerable online. I could never
A divorce without children is the best " vaccine " a person can have . As a viewer I feel like an unpaid therapist !
Consider yourself lucky and it a blessing
Most of us men in United States were married for many years and then destroyed by the court system.
Watching this video, makes me think of the Peruvian gf , also a nightmare. Be very careful to South American girls , don’t be numbed by their faces
"smoking weed" HELL YEAH
Did you use a U.S. lawyer for your Divorce, or a COlombia lawyer?
Colombian lawyer
@@WheresWes How much should I expect to pay
Great Vid. Thanks for sharing your story @whereswes
House? you guys rented?
I'd say the Latin people are warmer towards people of other race than Europeans. Too bad ypubleft Colombia. Such a beautiful place.
I dated a Colombian too. Similar to a Bible Belt U.S. Southernor That warmth is all fake. Europeans are generally better people on the inside.
7:38 - No Colombian women for me.
But how your ex could change herself sooo hard and quick??
To start well in Poland, you have to shave off your mustache, because for young people it is quite embarrassing. Unless it is a full beard in the Latin style. Miłego pobytu w PL. Twoje video są cool!
I don't think in his peer group there is such a need, mustache although rare fashion choice over the full beard are quite frequent nowadays, looks f.ex Dawid Podsiadlo
Thanks for sharing your story!
That's what I wish for you Wes!
so raw and honest. thank you
Hey Wes so glad you explained some of things you went through in Colombia.
@@leonsparta8238 Nope.
Go to Colombia ! Colombia is the best !
Why would he go to that dangerous country back? He got already burnt there!
No it's not. Lol. There's only so much you can do. After 4 days you will be bored out of your mind
Thank you!
when God loves someone
He puts him in some sort of trials
That would enlighten his heart.
That he gets more wisdom
And start ditching out this life
Life is around 70 years.
Compared to the hereafter
is infinity..
So
A few years of trials
is not that a big deal compared to infinity
God give you 2 eyes
And 2 trillions of neurons in your brain
Before the creation of earth
18 billion years before that
He saw every single emotion in ur heart
He knows what s the best for u and for ur future
He connected the dots
That ur brain couldn't fathom how to connect
Islam is a good religion also
But people don't understand the deep meaning of the verses
do you have children?
no, thankfully.
Most of them are on the side of their families, and you will always be an outsider to them no matter how much money and resources you blow on them.
Someone got finessed
