Another possibility may arise for the Maserati cars as in 1939 and 1940 to quote from the net : The carmaker took two consecutive victories at the Indianapolis 500 with American racing driver Wilbur Shaw at the wheel of the 8CT, renamed Boyle Special. Some further good performances up until 1947, the victories at Pikes Peak. So one of these cars may be very close to the double Indy winner. More research needed to confirm how close these are to the Indy 8CT winner.
