I LOVE slot cars, I grew up playing with them, and got started building model cars, which were given to me from some of the guys in the neighborhood, who ONLY wanted the GLUE that came with them (found out LATER what they were doing with the glue, most of them are now GONE!) Some of the earliest cars I had, were built by Eldon, they were 6v,1/32nd scale with snap in motors, axles, and brushes, then another company, Riggins came in, they were affordable 1/24th scale cars, easy to modify and fast, then Aurora and Tyco came with cheap azz HO cars with mickey mouse tires, they were horrible and fell apart, then I got hold of a Cox Chapparal that'd do wheelies, that was fun, but by then, I was ready for REAL cars and left them behind, and MANNN, here they are AGAIN! I've NEVER seen HO cars move like these, but I've always been a fanatic for detail because I began with model cars, buying numberous tiny bottles of Testers paint, because i painted them! These are TOTALLY on ANOTHER level, and obviously, the fans are in my age group, and I understand because they grew up with them TOO!😁👍

What a great lighthearted event to build the camaraderie and fun.

What made the broadcast enjoyable for me was the excellent video system set up by Carlos V and the team. I turned the sound off and kept track of the race via the onscreen scoreboard.

Ian & Doug made this event even better!!! Love the broadcast and their Magnetic Racing diorama parts are awsome!!!!!!

Wow, there's a legend alright. I see he's using his RC pistol grip throttle hand for the Slot cars, I did this at first but realised as I'm right handed that I'd do better with the Slot controller in my right hand...I can't race left handed any more.

We didn't get to see Joel's car! An explanation of his livery would have been a nice addition.

I raced against Joel many times I was in my mid twenty's, he was a kid but one of the nicest out there easy to talk to and always willing to help you out. I made it the nationals one year and my biggest thrill was going head to head with Joel jamming Jay and Mr. Moore great memories I still have signed shirts and some pics of us somewhere.

I couldn't believe it when I read the title I used to race with him he gave me a setup chart when I was a kid and it made a world of difference in getting my car to handle correctly !! Ripon RC speedway reedy Nationals
