Are there any tracks in the Tri Valley area? Pleasanton, Dublin, San Ramon area
Thank you, interesting review. Being new to your channel, I am curious what scale these are? Also do you have an idea where I can get new tires for some 1960s cars? There is a Cox Cheetah, an Atlas Porsche, and a Revell Lola all 1/32 scale. Any help is appreciated. Happy New Year!
These are 32nd scale. You might try Electric Dreams online store. They have some vintage parts.
@@norcalslotcarsceneandvinta3518 Thanks!
Thanks!
Thank you so much.
Happy new year Jim your channel is informative and full of useful content. That does not wast any one’s time. Thank you
Happy New Year and thanks for all the videos, including this one.
Great year's coverage of everything Slot Car for 2024 and totally agree with your pick. I'll continue to watch with interest in 2025 🙂
The 963 is a great car and a worthy winner. 👍
Thanks for the year of videos Jim. Onward and upward!
Does anyone have a link for the movie Winning in English? Everything I've found so far has been in foreign and without subtitles!
Thank you for all the videos Jim! Wishing you a 2025 full of exciting SlotCar racing. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Jim!!
Thank you and Happy New Year Jim Rose!
Great video!! Mr. Rose, You have inspired me now to go out and get me a Hypercar :-) Happy New Year🏁
Well Jim that was out of the blue & a fantastic choice , whilst I am also a fan of the Datsun 510 the Porsche is such a great slot car not only in looks but performance also & runs just fine on my home track & I will be looking forward to Scaleauto future Hypercar releases , oh as a side note the Porsche I purchased was the No7 the one that won the 2024 Daytona 24hr that Australian Matt Campbell was one of the drivers 👏👏👏
Great choice Jim - and for the reasons given. Oh, and 'It's fast' perhaps has most to do with tipping the scales with you. The question for 2025 is can you make it go faster?
Jim, thanks and Happy New Year. 😁
Before you gave that honorable mention to AFX, you should have bought all three varieties to see how, or if, they ran out of the box. A good looking body alone doesn’t cut it when the gears are bad, wheels aren’t properly pressed on, etc.
If you had a bad experience with an AFX product, contact them for a replacement. I know they stand behind their products. I've purchased quite a few AFX cars and never had an issue.
Agree on the BRMs 👍
I think you are missing something...
Great one in terms of inclusion and diversity in our Slot Car World. I've just picked up the red No 3 Ford GT MkII - Dan Gurney and Jerry Grant. The fit and finish is remarkable and the hue is a slightly orange rich blood red and the detailing with things like the intricate relief chromed bodywork latches is right up there with the best of 1:18 static modelling albeit the cockpit tray is moderately detailed black painted lexan as this thing means business. The gear mesh looks spot on OOB too and the tyre decals are relatively durable to handling for disassembly. The blue No 2 car was another Gurney/Grant outing only from the previous outing at Sebring 12h 1966 and if you look closely you will see 'the Gurney Bubble' on the roof of both of these which is missing from the bronze Donoghue No 4 car. Dan was reportedly 6'4" tall and struggled with headroom in the cabin with his helmet on. There's even a change to the carburettor which informs through the rear window as the evolution of the car progressed between these two races. In both instances the Gurney/Grant car retired from the lead. In Sebring the car just died on Gurney with a three lap lead at night in Sebring's citrus belt and this on the last lap. Dan's attempts to push the car over the finishing line using leg power led to disqualification. In Le Mans, this pair's No3 car was leading from Miles/Hulme come 09:00 in the morning when the thing blew a head gasket. The GT40 Mk II's engine failure was actually a blessing in disguise, as it allowed the Ford Engine and Foundry team to examine the engine's components and improve. The team developed a dynamometer "tape" of Le Mans to test the engines under race conditions. This allowed them to create an engine that could run for up to 48 hours, which is twice as long as the race itself.
Good choices Jim!
Nice choice, totally agree on Revoslot! Happy new year!
Agreed on Revo. Just an abundance of great looking and running cars.
Jim, Nice job!
Glad you enjoyed it
Do you do HO scale awards?
No, but maybe I should.
Best looking? Sure, yes, why not the Acura but we also have two other livery themes for the Porsche 963 - especially the hot new multicoloured Le Mans 2023 version and whilst 'yes' with the Gunston 350 why not the original red pair from the summer or even the South African Walls Ice Cream liveried Lola T70. I don't think I have a Vanilla Ice Cream colored car? Isn't she pretty? Oh, and what about the BRM Datsun 240z from ealier in the year and who, of course, could leave out the latest and greatest classic with the Gord GT MkII which is just hitting our suppliers as I write and so maybe this one will contend for 2025 instead. In short, why marry to one when there's a whole hareem out there? Oh, and I am happily married to just one woman - in case anyone asks. 🙂
Absolutely agree on most significant and manufacturer of the year. Best looking I just can't go with a pink car. Either of the other two are, IMHO, much better looking. Looking forward to the car of the year choice. 🍿
Thanks Jim
Why is the footprint of this table? Thanks.
Congratulations for all of your videos. I'm starting my adventure in the slot car world. I'm looking forward to meeting you guys next year at the tracks😊
Great video - just a quick edit - Braiden got TQ for Classics with his P68.
Oops...I'm sure he won't mind...LOL
Very Nice, Thank You
Great informative vid. Next, please have a full segment concerning 1/24 scale DRAG RACING slot cars. (brush & brushless differences) Thanks.
Hi Jim, slot car racer on routed tracks only, building slot cars and drag slot cars. for 42 years. in Australia.🤓1/24 =1/32= 1/24 drag cars top fuelers.
Hi Jim. Great video! Any chance you could post a link to that G25 tyre chart, please? Thanks! 😊
My prediction Brayden wins
🍿
The track looks great, and the car's paint jobs look fantastic. The only thing I don't like is that they appear to use FRAY rules. The front tires stick out beyond the body like moon cars rather than being tucked under the body like real cars.
VERY COOL🏁
0:34 I wonder what the red one name is?
What a great track, I wish I was there
Also, a couple of weeks back I wrote a comment teasing people who “can’t wait” for a product to arrive and are then “blown away.” I have been feeling bad about it ever since and I just want to apologize to everyone. I haven’t met any of you and have just had contact with Jim through emails, so I certainly don’t have any place making snarky comments. Sorry.
What a great track! It almost makes me wish I ran HO cars.
Nice Controller's !
I'm not familiar with HO. What class is this? The cars look cool!
outstanding circuit
looks good gentlemen 👍
As a Nascar fan these got me interested recently. I found out there was a local shop nearby and now im doing 1/24th scale wooden track stuff. Really neat stuff!
Thanks Jim
In Vegas its RedRockRaceway😅😅
That Penske Porsche is really nice. Lots of cool cars coming out. thanks for video!
