As a salon assistant I'm gunna add another tip 😋 When you DO wash your hair, wash it properly, I noticed in the video you emptied like HALF THE DAMN TUBE into your hand, that's a no no. You shampoo your hair twice with a dime sized amount. The first wash will feel like nothing and just breaks down the oils the second will lather up and give you all those awesome care stuff it says on the bottle. THIS IS KEEEEYYY.
Beth Thomas yes this is the right way, I also do the same thing. wash it twice back to back using little shampoo. use anti dandruff shampoo 2 times a week and herbal shampoo for the rest of days if you want to wash your hair everyday.
When you say shampoo your hair twice, do you mean the after the first time you wash it out with water then put in more for the 2nd time? Or not use water after the first time and just add
My hair gets oily every single day bc I have thin hair. I can't even go one day without washing it. And I can't go out with greasy hair bc I have school and work everyday.
Morgan Valentine it’s the same for me. My hair gets super greasy after 1 or 2 days I HAVE to wash it bc I can’t show up to work with super greasy hair.. school is fine no one cares but when you have a job you have to look clean & presentable
Same my hair is super thin and gressy i one didn't wash it for a week cause i was just home and it felt so bad but in time of school i wash it every 2 days the second day my hair is already heavily oily
I started the 'no poo' method 2 weeks ago out of curiosity and so far I love it! I have fine/thin/flat hair which used to get oily/icky after 24 hrs so it was definitely risky for me to walk out the door knowing I didn't use shampoo. In the beginning, I was actually using baby powder to control the oiliness (and it worked wonders). It was a gradual adjustment, I washed it every other day then started every 3 days, so on and so forth. Over time, I noticed my hair became voluminous, healthy, and easy to work with. Instead of blow drying, using volumizing products, a straightener, and teasing my hair to achieve the look I'm going for, I save loads of time AND money doing this naturally. When I DO wash my hair, I use extra virgin coconut oil as my conditioner before using a paraben-free shampoo. In between washes, I recently started the DIY dry shampoo recipe you posted and love it too. i would recommend more ppl try the 'no poo' method! Thanks for posting!
Just another dude in my early 20s. Just wanna say that your videos are freaking great and you probably saved me from damaging my hair 🤣 I made a bad habit out of washing my hair with shampoo everyday and it’s been drying my hair badly. Thanks again!
as a hairdresser I feel that the information in this video although right for the most part regarding the sulfates etc, nowadays it's perfectly fine to shampoo your hair everyday but ONLY if your using a good quality salon exclusive shampoo, shampoo from a salon for the most past contains agents that replenish the sebum as well as cleaning off the excess, they can also replenish the inter celular cement with will stop the cuticle from opening with the loss of sebum. just wanted to inform you of all this, great work on the video as well by the way, love the new layout
Absolutely. Cheers Craig. But all of that really does hang on someone having a really good quality shampoo. Even then, I really wouldn't recommend daily washing. What's your favourite shampoo? I'll take a look at it. 👌🏼🙌🏼
Can I just say that out of all of the men's grooming channels I've seen yours is by far the most professional and consistent. I really appreciate the honest reviews you do, especially the blumaan styling product review. Most other creators had only positive things to say, but from my own personal experience with the product I can say your review was spot on.
Hey Chandler. Thank you so much. I really appreciate you saying this. I'm working really hard on the channel and really want it to be somewhere that you guys enjoying going. Thank you for the great feedback. 🙌🏼🙌🏼
I wash my hair once every few days or so. I use an oil based pomade for a week, degrease, and then use a water based product for a week. It's worked out pretty well so far! Your videos have helped me out a lot. Keep them up my friend.
My hair get's VERY greasy.... like SO MUCH. Literally, it gets greasy in like 10 hours. I have to wash my hair every morning, with shampoo, and a fine comb to make sure I get all the oil and shampoo out. I'm only 16, so I'm hoping that my hair doesn't stay this way... and it seems like such a drag having to tend to my hair for hours every day.... also kinda feminine- not to be sexist or anything.
Like he said, your hair is getting greasy BECAUSE you are shampooing everyday. Your hair needs the natural oils it produces to stay strong and healthy, to keep your scalp healthy and protect it from bacterial and fungal infections (yes, you can get fungal infections from overwashing), and encourage growth. When you strip it of the small amount of oils it needs everyday, it starts going into overdrive and overproducing oil in a desperate attempt to get your hair and scalp what it needs and it gets oily. I only shampoo once a week and my hair never gets oily in that span. If for some reason I end up shampooing twice a week my hair gets oily.
Ricky Bronze same for me before, I had to wash 2 time everyday and I did this for almost 19 years, I now shampoo every 3 or 4 day and my hair looks better than ever, and they doesn't smell when they get greasy after 3-4 day
i actually do not wash my hair with shampoo, i never do, using waterbased wax and paste makes it easier to wash products of without washing it with shampoo, and some waterbased waxes or so on-prodicts contains some elements in it that makes your hair totaly clean from all dirt and oil.
Thanks for this Robin, i did use to wash my hair too much and now i havent washed my hair (with shampoo + conditioner) since this video went up and i can already feel more grip and it styles so much better, great tips and great videos, keep them up!
Just try to go for another day without washing your hair, from 2 to 3 days maybe. Your hair will get used to it and after a while you can extend to 4 days and so on if you want!
Because shampoo removes all the natural oils from your hair and then your scalp starts producing oil very fast an thats why your hair gets greasy fast. I haven´t washed my hair with shampoo in 2 months and its not greasy at all. Now i have very thick hair.
I'm an EXTREMELY active person that wrestles every single day and my hair gets extremely dirty from the mats, so would it be appropriate to shampoo every other day or every day? please help! thanks.
The reason why he said - don't wash your hair for a week - is to observe your scalp in producing oil, what day it'll make too much and knowing when to wash it. For those who workout or/and use hair products like gel for work (I do too since I bun my hair up and prevent hair strands hanging on the sides) to use a milder shampoo to wash away the product and sweat - I use baby shampoo (for me it does remove the hair product and sweat plus doesn't dry my scalp) During my day off - I don't wash my hair You guys don't need to use baby shampoo but find something mild if you shampoo your hair everyday. For those who don't have the problems above can schedule you hair wash depending on your scalp greasy level. Some produce more and some produce less. The video is to just give you an idea about what to do
1. if you are natural, you should not be working out 5 times a week ( hyperthrophy) 2. you can shower without using shampoo(if you plan on showering often)
Hey Robin just wanna say it's lovely you link the clothes your wearing! Your quality of videos have gone up substantially and the little details are really appreciated. Keep up the good work! 😁
hey...but I wash my hair everyday with oil because if I didn't wash hair lice sticking & crawling through my head can me itching and I will get dandruff problm even...therefore I think washing hair make every single day with hair oil did only benefits to me...
80% of shampoos HAVE sulfates, so I don't get peoples thing against them. AND a week without shampoo? For example, I go to the gym every day, I can't do a week without cleaning my hair. And for example, if I use hair gel, should I be a with gel for a week? No!
HA R essentially he is talking out of his arse and doesn't have a notion of hair bare in Mind I am a barber and also a hairdresser! I week of not washing your hair? Stupid fu**er says it all does it not..
sean ducey lol I had dandruff for years despite using head and shoulder everyday or regular shampoo everyday, only used shampoo twice a week and no dandruff
Try using shehvoo activating oil cleanser, it's like a shampoo but you can use it everyday if you wish, doesn't strip out your natural oils just grease and other bad stuff.
I’ve been wash my hair everyday for over eight months and haven’t noticed any downsides yet. What should I do? Should I stop? I like the consistency of having a shower every day and don’t really feel like giving it up.
Cheers for this. I have very thick straight hair. I have to use a lot of product to make it stay in a style. I have recently stoped waching my hair everyday. Now 3-4 days. Using a small amount of water based product it stays in the style I want. Great help. Thank you.
I did actually try a week without shampoo not so long ago; which has indeed provided me with the information on which shampoo, is best suited for my scalp n hair. I discovered that 'Aussie Shampoo and Conditioner' is best for me as of yet. But just goes to show you know ur stuff robin it worked for me . Another fantastic vid, Thank you robin! 👍🏼
I have kinky curly hair, even though I don't have the greasy hair problem, I always have the urge to wash my hair because I feel like my hair is still dirty even though it's not💀💀 ugh I need help with this problem. plus I recently did the big chop so my hair is short now and idk how much product to use because I'm not used to short hair.
I love this Argan Life shampoo. I also believe in the healing properties of argan oil. I have had scalp problems for years and after many different products, prescription and over the counter stuff, this shampoo has helped more that anything I have tried. Including all dandruff shampoos.
I have quite long hair. An the Problem is I work in building so through out the day my hair gets dusty an rubble in. Then I go gym so it gets sweaty so I can't not wash my hair every day with shampoo
you've showed me a new path Robin! I would wash my hair every single day and condition it. it just felt so oily the day after I felt like I had to wash it to make it matte. After this I realized it's really making it look more dry and it needs some natural shine. I was skeptical at first thinking my hair was different so now all I do is run it through water and maybe one day through the week I'll try and use it dry. the back of my head gets so messy sleeping so I feel the need to start fresh with a wet head. long story short I wash 1 time a week, maybeee 2 times max now. it works wonders.my hair isn't falling after styling and preday product that carries over helps hold as well. thank you!
I have like, thick hair, I always use shampoo because if I don't, or if I just rinse it without putting shampoo or conditioner on my hair... It will look so frizzy. But if I use like baby oil for for my hair, it's okay it keeps my hair shining even after 3 days but what happens is I get dandruffs because of baby oil. But then again, when I use shampoo that says "prevents hair fall" it's the exact opposite. I tried many different brands, Rejoice, Pantene, Sunsilk, Palmolive, Dove, Head and Shoulder etc... But right now I used Palmolive because I'm out of Dove shampoo. But I also use Keratine for conditioner... I still got hair fall but my hair smells so good and soft. Still I don't know if what I'm doing is safe and right. Watching from Philippines 🇵🇭 btw.
Iv been washing my hair with shampoo and conditioner every single day. I do work in construction with lots of dust and dirt but , wow I didn't realize I was hurting my hair rather than helping it. No wonder I can't get any hold it stays lifeless pretty much even with pomade , clay or wax. ...lol. These videos are great , haven't watched in awhile but keep theses coming!! Rock On!
Sergio Agüero You have to stop washing it so often one day at a time and it won't happen again. Try to star washing your hair every one day for a month. When your hair gets used to it, start washing it every two days, etc.
Sergio Agüero Oh, and that's happening to you because you are removing all the oils every day and your hair really needs those oils. That's why you are having greasy hair. If you strip the oils, your scalp will over-produce them
your scalp/hair is trying to compensate for all the washing by producing the oily substances even faster. Trust me, I used to wash every day and if I skipped it in the morning, by lunch time it would be like plastered to the side of my head. I started slowly, went to two shampoos every three days, then once every two days, then once every three days, and so on. Now i'm to the point where I only shampoo once a week. And you would never know from looking/smelling it!
If i go more than two days without washing my hair, my head goes really itchy and it gets worse, so I just have to wash it. And it gets really dry. Have tried bunch of different products from cheap ones to more expensive ''natural'' ones no major changes tho, what I have found it helps is just keeping it really short, tho I look like potato head.
Robin James My Hair Is falling Out In the shower a lot! But I can seem to find It On My pillow, and I always use gel for school, “middle school” Cause my mom forces me. And my hair gets REALLY Itchy if I dont wash it. And I shower everyday, if I don’t use shampoo, will it stop falling?
In fact, it all depends on your hair type. For exemple, fine hair needs to be washed every day because it has the tendency to feel oily much faster than thick hair. The goal is to remove any excess dirt, oil, and products that can potential add weight to your hair causing it to become lifeless. Reply me to this and tell me where i am wrong!
We'll have a hair chat when I see you next week. Hairspray should wash out fairly easily... Or, let's get you into some new products. We'll have a consultation and I'll suggest some. 👌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
The thing is there isn't really definitive proof. Besides some people like myself really have oily scalp, no not because I used shampoo often but because I was born this way
@Naomi Madan Yes, nothing really works drastically. My hair has small radius compared to most others, so it falls down easily either way. Too much chemical would be too dry, too less would be too oily..kinda have to be moderate. Need to be aware of pollution in the air and chlorine in water as well.
Some years ago I had a Friend who washed his hair daily twice per wash and then complained his hair was too dry and could do little with it. He turned to straighteners and would burn the hair straight to control it then add something to hold it in place. I had been a hairdresser in the past and like you, I advised he stop washing his hair for a week and allow the 'natural oils to rebalance' explaining because he continually washed them out daily the body tried to compensate by producing more oils and he had (unwittingly got into a vicious circle). Hair feels oily so wash it, scalp and hair too dry so produces more oil and thus person washes it again and so it goes. He did what I suggested and complained bitterly about his oily hair for the week but, when he washed his hair he was shocked at how soft it was, the movement in his hair and how controlled it was. The following week he only needed to wash his hair twice that week. I explained he should only wash his hair maximum 3 times per week in a City but to use a softer brand such as a neutral PH or Baby shampoo or Tea tree shampoo if washing more than twice a week and the more robust shampoo the rest of the time.
Appreciate this. I'd tried not washing before but for a long time decent water soluble products. So life was either natural look or hair product everyday/wash everyday.
He's right. I noticed it some years ago, especially girls get crazy with washing their hair 4 and 5 times a week. Of course everyone has a different kind of hair BUT WASHING IT TOO MUCH WILL ACTUALLY MAKE YOUR HAIR MORE OILY! You just need some patience in the beginning, after a month or a couple of months is gonna be better. And - come on - it's summer, there are so many different up dos you can try!!
I've allways really thought that when rinseing your hair without shampoo it still takes some of the oils out of your hair that you need. So I generally still used the build up as a pre styler the next day. This generally didn't work for me with a clay because it just didn't look good and was really hard to style with. So having the thought that I could still rinse my hair and that clay as I know will rinse out. Thanks robin you really helped! Keep up the quality content.
I'm a teen and I wash my hair once a week since I want natural oils to build up on my scalp because I dye my hair a lot and I want the color to last longer and my hair to be natural and healthier. I will also use coconut oil in it an hour or so before I shower and it really helps give it moisture since my hair is more dry now from bleaching and harsh chemicals. :)
thats what i do to another tip is to wash your hair in cold water you might hate it and i do to but when i take a shower i wash my body first in warm water so the cold water isnt too surprising then i wash my hair in cold water. cold water promotes healthy growing hair and you wont have fading hair dye. i dye my hair alot too and washing my hair in cold water helps a lot
Cheyenne stitches hey that's exactly what i do! Well i don't dye my hair but yes once weak i put coconut oil in my hair before i wash it and it works amazing!
I'm living in Singapore and the weather here is always pretty humid. That, equals to perspiration every day (without fail!). I currently shampoo at the end of the each day while I style my hair with an oil-based pomade. Robin, do you think I should adapt to your recommend routine or stick with my current one while considering of the factors -weather, hair product. Cheers!
You should probably stick to yours, my personal opinion, cause it's kind of the same with me, I live in Brazil, In here it's really hot it always was, so I sweat a lot. I also swim everyday (except in the weekends), and my hair gets dry and sweaty and smells like chlorine, so I wash it everyday. To add to this, both my skin and hair are very oily and I tried not showering for 3 days on my holidays vacation and my hair looked awful and felt awful and oily.
I live in Indonesia so pretty much the same humidity if not worse..I wash my hair 3x a week. That will train your hair to balance the oil on your scalp..without feeling too miserable. Happy medium :) Use sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner is also important. Aaaand pre-poo treatment using castor + coconut oil mainly on your scalp and distribute it to the ends. Leave it for a few hours or overnight and then wash your hair. It will definitely make your scalp healthier and you can go longer without wash in a long run.
Great content man. I've needed a video like this to explain all the confusion about what's right and wrong for washing your hair. More video's like this would be appreciated :)
My hair is thick and gets greasy after around 3-4 days. I usually wash it on Sunday night then thursday night and wash my body in the bath/shower almost every other day. Sometimes I do wash it before Thursday because by Thursday, usually it starts to get a bit greasy so if I went on Friday I would get judged and get called names for greasy hair
I wash my hair everyday because it goes flat after sleeping. I wash it every morning. Is it bad If I do This? Should I just wash it with water then dry with hairdryer everyday? If not how can I get my hair normal I mean like not flat cause I have my own hair style and after sleeping it gets flat so what should I do?
if i don't wash my hair everyday, my scalp gets itchy, probably acne will sprouts like crazy as well, the scalp gets oily and dirty and infested with bacteria if i don't at least shampooing my hair once in two days
I know this is an older video, but I still find this very informative. Thank you 🙏.... everyday guys don’t know or we’re not told about this. I was washing my hair every day. Badly damaged!!!
Mr. James I would reallt appreciate if you helped me here. I know that we usually get rid of 150 something hairstrands. I am 18 i have thin wavy hair with weired growth pattern with waves and "folds" at my sides and doing straigth messy edgy quiff is kind of a nightmare. This leads to me using strong hold dry and matt but high quality and premium products such as fiber wax. the problem is throughout styling i see alot of hair strands on my hand 5-8 on each hand. I have done some research, the usual amount is 2-3 strans of hair. also i ave read that the reason to alot of hair stuck to hand might be not washing hair on daily basis. But i also know shampooing the hair every day can be really damaging. So what do you recommend? washing my hair everyday but with only water or is the problem something else? Thank you!
I’m going to try this! I work with chemicals so I like to not only wash my hair in the morning because it wakes me up but also once I get home to remove any possible contamination from work. I will try this thought to see what happens.
Rdx Abdul Rahman try and limit the amount of times you style your hair, it is pretty good to wash your hair before you use a product, Because you are giving the product its full potential, but no you don't always have to use a shampoo before you style your hair, but it does help, and if you do shampoo your hair the night before you style your hair or right before you style make sure you use a heat protectant, it's gonna help a lot trust me
Anoronix I use hairspary in the morning. I wash it every night and every morning . Night for getting remove of hair spray right? And morning because my hair goes flat on the sides and back so I wash it. What can I do to not wash my hair 2 times a day? Can you please help
Why not try to style your hair for the week and when you go to sleep find something to put on your head to keep the style. Cuts down on how often you have to restyle. Just keep what you’re putting on your head clean.
I used to wash my hair like 1-2 times a week but that caused me a lot of hairfall, itcy scalp, dandruff, acne and dry shampoos are not good for me. I even try hair masks but castor oil dried my hair. I asked my classmates and relatives if they wash their hair everyday bc it is so fine and good not like mine and they said yes. Then, I opt to wash it everyday and my hair becomes fine and tangled free. Btw i lived in PH and i commute publicly that i'm exposed to pollution and dust everyday for school so I guess it really depends on your hair type and everyday activities or environmental factors like weather (it's humid/super hot here) whether you wash your hair everyday or twice a week or so. I have thick long wavy hair. :)
Hi! Robin. If I were to use hair styling products everyday does it mean that I have to shampoo everyday too ? Sometimes When I try not to use styling products and not shampoo at least 1-2 days, my scalp would get super itchy and oily.
actually hor , if that's the case u can wash it like in 2days , and not 1 week.. cause Singapore really very hot. and the oil coming out of ur sculpt is actually healthy for ur hair ( what i read from the internet) . ✌ fellow singaporean too.
I wash every two days or one, I start with an oily hair therapeutic shampoo first to remove the oils. That leaves it rubbery but clean, then I lather up really nicely for two minutes with a biotin shampoo. When I wash that off then I use a ginger conditioner.
always condition after shampooing! schampo opens up the hair and strips it of the oils and dirt. it is to only cleanse your hair. To close the hair again you need the conditioning action otherwise it will be very course and not as smooth as it will be with conditioner.
The problem is not the grease alone. If I don‘t wash with shampoo daily, my scalp gets very itchy and kind of dandruffy. It goes as far as to feeling inflamed, slightly burning and itching like crazy. I envy people who don’t need to wash their hair with shampoo every single day. I wish I could do that, but there is absolutely no way for me. It is so annoying to wash daily. I hate it. It also makes my hair too soft and eliminates all natural hold. Anyway, I prefer this over constant itching. This situation makes me very sad to be honest. Anyone else?
+Robin James Can you review the Gatsby products? The purple container wax is for short hair, in case you want to have a look. Its my favorite product for matte finishes and is smooth and creamy, easy to style with. please consider it! 😀
Hey thanks! This was a great video especially for the shampoo i'm using. It helped me to see which shampoo is best for me. Just stared changing my schedule to washing my hair with shampoo once a week and once a weekend. Thanks!👌🏻
Thanks a lot for the tips! I didn't know that washing your hair less was better for it! I have a dry scalp, so I'm gonna try to wash my hair every 3 (or so) days, but as long as I can remember, I'm going to refrain from washing every day! Thanks!
StussyMartin yes you can. For me i wash my hair once or twice a weak with shampoo. But sometimes my hair may get oily so i'll decide to wash it with only water. What this will do is take out the excess oil that your doesn't need (what makes it look oily) and leave you with the healthy vitamins your hair needs (what gives it a healthy shine). So yes if you want to wash your hair every time with only water (i'v never tried that) that could work too. It has for a lit if people so whatever works for you. Hope i helped!
Although, the tails in the lipid bylayer are the ones inside, between the heads not wanting to be touched by water makes them hydrophobic while the heads are on the out being exposed are hydrophilic. Otherwise thank you. I learned a lot from this video and should have healthier hair
What are you meant to do if you use hair product every day though? You can't style your hair easily if it's not been washed and blow dried so how can we not wash our hair every day? Cheers
I have a really oily scalp and I start getting dandruff if I skip even a single day of shampooing. trust me, I tried shampooing every other day and it's a no go
No shampoo but once a week.... Check.... But many water based pomades/products dry the hair out.... How often to use Conditioners? "Hydrating Conditioners"?
I wash my hair about twice a week with Mancave caffeine shampoo and faith in nature Jojoba conditioner, all natural and no parabens/SLS. I train 4-5 times a week so at other times If my hair is sweaty then I wash it with water only, which works. However this would depend on how much product that you use daily and how oily your hair is.
I used to wash my hair with like half a bottle of shampoo every day when I was like 13 and I swear my hairline receded a little from doing it too much lol, now I just wash it with a little bit of shampoo every 2 days
I have long curly/frizzy hair, I have a greasy scalp and dry hair, I think I might have a greasy scalp due to my overuse of products. The hair will clump together and will sort of stink at the scalp (sorry that's probably disgusting lol). Heeeelp! Also, great video! New sub :)
excellent information Robin, i just knew what is the sulfate mean.. when I got a new shampoo from Amazon is called argan oil shampoo.. sulfate free.. amazzzing shampoo.. anti loose hair.. it thickens my hair and clean it.. I used it 2-3 a week.. thank u Rubin.. 🌹
As a salon assistant I'm gunna add another tip 😋 When you DO wash your hair, wash it properly, I noticed in the video you emptied like HALF THE DAMN TUBE into your hand, that's a no no. thanks for the tip, I will give it a shot.
edit: would you recommend doing the same with the conditioner or is once good enough?
Beth Thomas yes this is the right way, I also do the same thing. wash it twice back to back using little shampoo. use anti dandruff shampoo 2 times a week and herbal shampoo for the rest of days if you want to wash your hair everyday.
random person and when you're washing with the anti dandruff one twice a week , is it back to back or are there gaps between it ?
BoyzNDaHood 2-3 days gap between the anti dandruff shampoo. For eg: on Wednesday and Sunday.
Same
It sucks
Morgan Valentine it’s the same for me. My hair gets super greasy after 1 or 2 days I HAVE to wash it bc I can’t show up to work with super greasy hair.. school is fine no one cares but when you have a job you have to look clean & presentable
Try Dry Shampoo. It’ll even give your fine hair a boost!
Same my hair is super thin and gressy i one didn't wash it for a week cause i was just home and it felt so bad but in time of school i wash it every 2 days the second day my hair is already heavily oily

Watched the video just to get to the end where he basically says - “it’s really up to you”. Nice Job.
I know right
he did tell us a lot tho
Thanks for saving my time.
I have a hair thing, like not washing my hair everyday or 2 grosses me out. I just think of all the shit in my hair & I HAVE to wash it😂😂
Jess V use only water or herbal shampoo if you want to wash hair everyday.
Jess V ay
Same
Who wants to be bothered with washing our hair everyday Ain’t got no time for ruining my hair
OCD ? But same , though I have ocd
Awesome video Robin. Everyone keeps talking about shampooing so therefore if anyone asks I will share that video to the viewers.
Thanks so much, Brian. Good egg. 🙌🏼👌🏼

nice what shampoo u use i use unite / labl m
Absolutely. Cheers Craig. But all of that really does hang on someone having a really good quality shampoo. Even then, I really wouldn't recommend daily washing.
What's your favourite shampoo? I'll take a look at it. 👌🏼🙌🏼

I love this technique, Ryan. Sounds like a total winner!
Ricky Bronze try using a dry shampoo, don't get a crappy dry shampoo though they literally do nothing
Ricky Bronze o
Ricky Bronze o
Ricky Bronze same for me before, I had to wash 2 time everyday and I did this for almost 19 years, I now shampoo every 3 or 4 day and my hair looks better than ever, and they doesn't smell when they get greasy after 3-4 day
Your videos are really professional, they are amazing?
The question mark at the end is almost implying that you are not sure if the videos are amazing and professional
Hi Dejis dad
+PC Master Race lmfao
Lol i think he meant an exclamation point.
Muhammad Ahmad Ah yeah it must be that!
How often do you wash your hair?
Quite a lot of info in this video! I hope it’s useful!
I wash my hair every 2-3 days.
Great Video. Your videoquality gets better and better every week.
Cheers mate. Appreciate you saying so. I'm working hard for you guys. Want to make this work.
this video was very interesting Robin 😁👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
i actually do not wash my hair with shampoo, i never do, using waterbased wax and paste makes it easier to wash products of without washing it with shampoo, and some waterbased waxes or so on-prodicts contains some elements in it that makes your hair totaly clean from all dirt and oil.
I'll usually go about 2 days before washing it again
Thanks for this Robin, i did use to wash my hair too much and now i havent washed my hair (with shampoo + conditioner) since this video went up and i can already feel more grip and it styles so much better, great tips and great videos, keep them up!
This is great. So pleased to hear.
but y does my hair go oily every two days?
Just try to go for another day without washing your hair, from 2 to 3 days maybe. Your hair will get used to it and after a while you can extend to 4 days and so on if you want!
I have the same problem. when my hair 6 inches long my hair got oily after 4 days. Now I got a haircut and my hair gets oily everyday 2 days well.
Dry Shampoo!! You can use Cornstarch too :)
Talcum powder helps as well but I prefer dry shampoo.
Because shampoo removes all the natural oils from your hair and then your scalp starts producing oil very fast an thats why your hair gets greasy fast. I haven´t washed my hair with shampoo in 2 months and its not greasy at all. Now i have very thick hair.
I'm an EXTREMELY active person that wrestles every single day and my hair gets extremely dirty from the mats, so would it be appropriate to shampoo every other day or every day? please help! thanks.
Of course. You do what works for you.
The reason why he said - don't wash your hair for a week - is to observe your scalp in producing oil, what day it'll make too much and knowing when to wash it.
For those who workout or/and use hair products like gel for work (I do too since I bun my hair up and prevent hair strands hanging on the sides) to use a milder shampoo to wash away the product and sweat - I use baby shampoo (for me it does remove the hair product and sweat plus doesn't dry my scalp)
During my day off - I don't wash my hair
You guys don't need to use baby shampoo but find something mild if you shampoo your hair everyday.
For those who don't have the problems above can schedule you hair wash depending on your scalp greasy level. Some produce more and some produce less. The video is to just give you an idea about what to do
I thought he kept saying “selfie”
Hahahaha me too
what if u work out 5 times a week ??? 😕
1. if you are natural, you should not be working out 5 times a week ( hyperthrophy)
2. you can shower without using shampoo(if you plan on showering often)
+pdbre why I shouldn't be working out five times a week if I'm natural?
he obviously doesn't know how working out works so if you're natural you should be working out 5 times a week 6 max
wash with water or co-wash with a cleansing conditioner
Ame cuz it's sub-optimal....bro splits are for steroid users...
Hey Robin just wanna say it's lovely you link the clothes your wearing! Your quality of videos have gone up substantially and the little details are really appreciated. Keep up the good work! 😁
Thanks so much, Adam. I really appreciate the lovely feedback.
hey...but I wash my hair everyday with oil because if I didn't wash hair lice sticking & crawling through my head can me itching and I will get dandruff problm even...therefore I think washing hair make every single day with hair oil did only benefits to me...
It removes everything washing your hair a lot with that isn’t good you can do it once in a while
sean ducey lol I had dandruff for years despite using head and shoulder everyday or regular shampoo everyday, only used shampoo twice a week and no dandruff
Try using shehvoo activating oil cleanser, it's like a shampoo but you can use it everyday if you wish, doesn't strip out your natural oils just grease and other bad stuff.
If you have straight hair and if you don’t have dry hair then using sulphates isn’t really a big of a problem tbh.
I’ve been wash my hair everyday for over eight months and haven’t noticed any downsides yet. What should I do? Should I stop? I like the consistency of having a shower every day and don’t really feel like giving it up.
You still shower everyday no matter what. But if you wash your hair everyday and have no problems, then this advice might not be for you
Do what works for you. Stop listening to these youtubers who are experts in nothing.
You are doing good bro
@@cfoster6804lol
Cheers for this. I have very thick straight hair. I have to use a lot of product to make it stay in a style. I have recently stoped waching my hair everyday. Now 3-4 days. Using a small amount of water based product it stays in the style I want. Great help. Thank you.
What if you play sports and u sweat every day? Do u still not shampoo ur hair?? Cuz that's just gross...
Brian Kim Do you sweat on your head?
I just put conditioner but don't take my advice I'm no expert XD
Brian Kim just wash it with water thats what i do Everytime i sweat
I sweat like 4-5 days a week and i just wash with water and hair dry
gabriel guerrero XD
Comeonn just wash it well with water.....even I sweat ALOTT!! ...I just wash my hair well with water and shampoo after a 2 days gap
He Dan, you're ahead of the game. Good to see you made it work for you! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
My hair is curly but still gets greasy after a day of not washing it
co-washing makes u feel better. also find some scalp oils it might calm your scalp down
I love this Argan Life shampoo.
If you need to, then go for it. But you can probably use something a lot lighter for your hair. You don't want a harsh shampoo.
you've showed me a new path Robin! I would wash my hair every single day and condition it. it just felt so oily the day after I felt like I had to wash it to make it matte. After this I realized it's really making it look more dry and it needs some natural shine. I was skeptical at first thinking my hair was different so now all I do is run it through water and maybe one day through the week I'll try and use it dry. the back of my head gets so messy sleeping so I feel the need to start fresh with a wet head. long story short I wash 1 time a week, maybeee 2 times max now. it works wonders.my hair isn't falling after styling and preday product that carries over helps hold as well. thank you!
I wash my hair once a week or once every week in a half depending on how often I moisturize my hair
Totally agree, I went from washing my hair once a day to once every 4 days with shampoo and it made a world of difference, keep up the great videos!
tell me what did you see??
Can I apply this to whenever I take a poop?
...

...
Sure, I don't see why shampooing every 5 days would be bad
Daniel Hermosillo Shampoo Is Bad For Your Hair, It Has A Formula That Weakens Hair, Perhaps Shower Once 3 Days.
Hey robin! Another great video❤️ i still cant believe the fact that you replied to my Question on snapchat! Loads of love from EGYPT 😭🇪🇬
Of course! Thank you for asking. 💙💙
Rock On!
It only takes 1 day for my hair to get greasy. Rip me.
thanks man, i have seen a lot of youtubers but they dont explain things good like u, thumbs up...
I'm so confused to why my hair gets greasy the day after I wash it, this causes me to wash my hair everyday...Anyone know why this happens???
Sergio Agüero You have to stop washing it so often one day at a time and it won't happen again. Try to star washing your hair every one day for a month. When your hair gets used to it, start washing it every two days, etc.
Sergio Agüero Oh, and that's happening to you because you are removing all the oils every day and your hair really needs those oils. That's why you are having greasy hair. If you strip the oils, your scalp will over-produce them
Because Salah's better than u!!
your scalp/hair is trying to compensate for all the washing by producing the oily substances even faster.
Maybe it's your shampoo.... I use Palmolive and it makes my hair super greasy the next day.
I saw that one video about that guy who didn’t wash his hair for a year that got millions of views and now i’m getting this in my reccomended feed.
How about using water-based products? Have you tried that?
Robin James My Hair Is falling Out In the shower a lot! But I can seem to find It On My pillow, and I always use gel for school, “middle school” Cause my mom forces me. And my hair gets REALLY Itchy if I dont wash it. And I shower everyday, if I don’t use shampoo, will it stop falling?
Zilla {Godzilla 2018 }
I will recommend you go to a dermatologist, maybe is something different with your scalp.
Luz Olmedo Strange, I will see.
In fact, it all depends on your hair type. For exemple, fine hair needs to be washed every day because it has the tendency to feel oily much faster than thick hair. The goal is to remove any excess dirt, oil, and products that can potential add weight to your hair causing it to become lifeless. Reply me to this and tell me where i am wrong!
omg I just learnt so much 😂 I put so much hairspray in my hair though that if I don't wash it, it isn't pretty!! haha What do you suggest Dr.Robin ?
We'll have a hair chat when I see you next week. Hairspray should wash out fairly easily... Or, let's get you into some new products. We'll have a consultation and I'll suggest some. 👌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Oh man I was about to look for videos or articles about this, and then you upload everything to know in 7Min. Great :D
Ah, good one! Perfect timing.
your videos are very inspiring and helpful man :)
Thank you.
What if you workout 5 times a week and you put on hair products everyday. (I put on pomade everyday)
Artistry Minds Studios same as me i put on pomade every day and wash it at the end of the day with water does it damage my hair??
Artistry Minds Studios that's why you use water based products
Same
Some years ago I had a Friend who washed his hair daily twice per wash and then complained his hair was too dry and could do little with it.
Is it just me cause, my hair starts following out and scap gets super red when I don't wash my hair for 2 days lol
Appreciate this. I'd tried not washing before but for a long time decent water soluble products. So life was either natural look or hair product everyday/wash everyday.
I miss the " hye guys what up it Robin now before move forward go get yourself a drink or tea" 😂 Btw this video is very educational .
Ah, sorry Kimmy. I still say "how are you"! Ha ha. Same guy. Just polished it all up a little more. Ha ha.
I quit shampoo years ago and my hair has never been better. I think I've only washed it twice in 4 years and no intentions on going back to shampoo!
uno99 r u going bald?
No, 37 years old and very thick hair hair still
Yeah just hot water whenever your in the shower. Way less need for any products to style hair. If I have product buildup I use conditioner.
Ali Zilla Grow up
I've allways really thought that when rinseing your hair without shampoo it still takes some of the oils out of your hair that you need. So I generally still used the build up as a pre styler the next day. This generally didn't work for me with a clay because it just didn't look good and was really hard to style with. So having the thought that I could still rinse my hair and that clay as I know will rinse out. Thanks robin you really helped! Keep up the quality content.
Hey there. Gold to hear that you're experimenting with it. Totally just a case of seeing what works for your.
Glad you enjoyed the video. 🙌🏼👌🏼
You look like Beerus.
No
bruh how
How high were you my m8.
exactly exactly exactly exactly exactly
i thought i was alone
Cheers!
Hey there. If anything, I'd experiment with water-based pomades and then wash less with shampoo. Give it a go.
Robin James hi Robin, just wonder how you can wash away hair products without shampoo. Thanks a lot
@@belugawhale6539 water based products
Hey Josh. Glad you liked it. More videos on way!
I train almost everyday, after training i get sweaty and my hair, so i wash it right after 😶
I don't think he really knows what he's talking about.
Yeah if you're in that situation don't listen to this guy.
Nice video Robin, very informative. Next time i get a comment about sulphates, defo gonna link them to this video.
Cheers Luca. I also need to take a trip down your way. Round there in the next few weeks.
sounds great!! hopefully the weather will be good too, feel free to keep me posted!:)
Omg i used to apply shampoo twice a day.
Oh shut up idiot.
Twice a day with shampoo too!! Wtf
@@9milliemajor 😂😂😂😂
Why showering twice a day must have been a red flag that you shouldn't
Same here
My hair is thick and gets greasy after around 3-4 days.
As usual..!! Your videos are always useful..!! 👌 keep making videos
Cheers Rishi!
I'm really amazed how my hair manages to stay clean up to four days, while some people wash it literally every day
I ordered my first hair wax, should i wash my hair with shampoo every night when ever I use it?
Rdx Abdul Rahman Google it.
I live in Singapore. It's quite humid and sunny here. Prone to oily scalp
+Colin Ng LOLOL also from Singapore and got the exact same problem :/
+Colin Ng didn't see this question before posting mine! hello, fellow Singaporean!
for us in humid climates,we can wash it every single day.fellow singaporean as well!
actually hor , if that's the case u can wash it like in 2days , and not 1 week.. cause Singapore really very hot. and the oil coming out of ur sculpt is actually healthy for ur hair ( what i read from the internet) . ✌ fellow singaporean too.
I wash every two days or one, I start with an oily hair therapeutic shampoo first to remove the oils. That leaves it rubbery but clean, then I lather up really nicely for two minutes with a biotin shampoo. When I wash that off then I use a ginger conditioner.
what about conditioner, how do I add that into my routine?
shampoo then conditioning after
Only condition 2-3 times a week
always condition after shampooing! schampo opens up the hair and strips it of the oils and dirt. it is to only cleanse your hair. To close the hair again you need the conditioning action otherwise it will be very course and not as smooth as it will be with conditioner.
+Felicia Nilsson ok thank you
Great video, thank you for the info. Your videos are simply getting so much better and it's great to see you grow. Stay classy Robin mate!
Thanks so much. Appreciate you saying so.
Once a week that's fucking gross
Infamously you can have a shower every day but use shampoo one week
TR Games and the days you dont use shampoo you use conditioner or nothing at all?
TR Games nothing
The problem is not the grease alone. If I don‘t wash with shampoo daily, my scalp gets very itchy and kind of dandruffy. It goes as far as to feeling inflamed, slightly burning and itching like crazy. I envy people who don’t need to wash their hair with shampoo every single day. I wish I could do that, but there is absolutely no way for me. It is so annoying to wash daily. I hate it. It also makes my hair too soft and eliminates all natural hold. Anyway, I prefer this over constant itching. This situation makes me very sad to be honest. Anyone else?
i use to shampoo everyday but for the past 3 years i only shampoo 2 days a week

Are you suffering from hair fall?? or any other hair related problems
Roniee Singh ya i am suffering pllzzz give me some tips
rahul Bhadoriya sane but every other day
Thanks a lot for the tips! I didn't know that washing your hair less was better for it! I have a dry scalp, so I'm gonna try to wash my hair every 3 (or so) days, but as long as I can remember, I'm going to refrain from washing every day! Thanks!
Amaze! Let me know how you get on, Ben.
guys can I just wash my hair with water ? please reply anyone!
StussyMartin I'm wondering the same!
Single Rider you figured it out yet?
Yes you can. You can actually do that every day because it doesn't remove any natural "Good" oils. But only wash with shampoo 1-2 times a week
Neverland Dreams you never watched your hair with just water?
Although, the tails in the lipid bylayer are the ones inside, between the heads not wanting to be touched by water makes them hydrophobic while the heads are on the out being exposed are hydrophilic. Otherwise thank you. I learned a lot from this video and should have healthier hair
But i use hairspray everyday before work. How do I wash it out later then?
Don john only with water.
What are you meant to do if you use hair product every day though? You can't style your hair easily if it's not been washed and blow dried so how can we not wash our hair every day? Cheers
what am i doing here
im bald jk
A hairstylist just told me 1/week is far too few and my hair probably smells. Love that for me
So i can conclude that it's best if you use a water based product. Really useful video. thanks!
I have a really oily scalp and I start getting dandruff if I skip even a single day of shampooing. trust me, I tried shampooing every other day and it's a no go
@Yolah Megat anti dandruff shampoo once a day. that's it. 🤷🏻♀️
@Yolah Megat yep. everyday. that's what works for me
No shampoo but once a week....
I wash it once or twice a week. I use an oil based pomade, don't mind not washing it to get the buildup.
The build up can be okay. Totally agree.
I have long curly/frizzy hair, I have a greasy scalp and dry hair, I think I might have a greasy scalp due to my overuse of products. The hair will clump together and will sort of stink at the scalp (sorry that's probably disgusting lol). Heeeelp! Also, great video! New sub :)
I wash my hair daily and when I'm not using any hair products it just feels super weird and I think its bc I shampoo daily
