I'm glad a true, professional composer is sharing that it's OK to love Behringer products and they are of a quality that professionals can use. ESPECIALLY the 2600. I use it in all of my jams. I too could NEVER afford another vendors ARP 2600 reproduction... or a real one. THANK YOU for sharing this and thank you to Behringer for my beautiful 2600 (#behringer2600), Model-D, and Solina. I love them and they were all affordable. I hope one day to buy some of the System 100M modules and the Kobol Expander as well. I like Berlin School and Ambient music and these reproductions are classic to the sound, but impossible for me to own.

Using a wind controller with an analog synth is just so expressive, freaky and cool😎. I really wish I'd stuck with those recorder and chanter lessons when I was a kid. Pedro is such a cool guy as well, his enthusiasm brightened my day.

You don't have to be rich or a professional musician to afford some great-sounding gear. I make music out of love rather than for profit. Behringer has made it possible for me to enjoy my GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) without going broke. I wish that all b2600s had those single-CV-to-all-oscillators mods. Same with easy triggering with a single external gate. Controlling it with MIDI works fine, but playing via a single external CV and gate is a pain.
James, I have to totally agree with your comparison of name brand meds to generic meds with synths. No one will complain to save money on meds. I have no complaints with Behringer. I am happy with what I have. They have saved me a lot of money. With what I have (total of 7 synths and drum machines), getting all the originals, I would've spent over $22,000 USD at current prices, and that's not including the cost of a divorce for even trying to spend that type of money on equipment. I even have some of their pedals and their interfaces. With their new Pro-800, Behringer is saving me $3,100 on some of the Sequential sounds that I want. I mean who else is doing that. I can relate to this guy. I just recently got the Behringer 2600, after wanting one, since the original ARP version, was first released. Now I regret having sold my Akai wind controller. Maybe time to look at getting a new MIDI wind controller.
The moment Pedro started playing with the patches I immediately recognized some of the sounds that were part of Dune! Hopefully he could confirm this and provide some patch guideline. Having this (affordable) level of world-class sound design available for the masses is almost a dream today!
Hi !! I played very few electronics in Dune... but many of my unique acoustic wind sounds were modified with uHe's Zebrify & many other plugins by geniuses like Hans, Howard Scarr, etc... So, based on what is on the original score, I came up with the patches you heard me demonstrate here, which I use in our tour concerts... Juan Garcia-Herreros [Snow-Owl] did also some serious sound design [he told me two days ago he literally destroyed 6 bases making sounds that are part of the desert machines]. I built custom instruments that were then heavily modified with plugins... And I will share the patch soon... Just got to Geneva-Switzerland, after 9Hrs in a bus from Milano-Italy (where we played last night)... Touring is great, but also really hard!!! Blessings!!

I cover all the electronic pieces with both the Beh2600: Wonder Woman, Batman, Dune's "Paul Dream"& the E.S. on: Man of Steel, Dark Phoenix - Dunkirk, Interstellar... The Lyricon is AN ANALOG WIND CONTROLLER (IT DOES NO MAKE ANY SOUND)... it sends CONTROL VOLTAGES (CV, for short... meaning: varying levels of voltage) the same way you do with a dimmer on a lamp... I send three kinds of voltages: 1. WIND; 2. LIP ; 3. FINGERING.... 1. WIND CV is produced --PROPORTIONALLY!-- by how hard or soft I blow into the instrument (through the mouthpiece)... iThat I use mainly for volume, mainly)... So: the harder I blow, the louder the synth sounds... 2. Lip: SAME principle, but by virtue of Lip pressure over the sax-like reed (WHICH DOES NOT PRODUCE ANY SOUND)... the more I press the reed, the more CV is produce (this can be inverted)... and 3. Fingers CVs (produced by my botes fingering combination, like in a sax, flute or clarinet). Now, by combining LIP CV & FINGERING CVs I can add vibrato or Pitch Bends to whatever note I am fingering... So all these CVs are assigned to diff parameters of the synth (VCOs, VCF, VCAs) that result in an extremely expressive --almost ALIVE-- sound, albeit it is electronic!! THAT's MANY SAY IT SOUNDS LIKE AN ACOUSTIC WIND INSTRUMENT... Hope this helps you to understand a bit better... God bless you!!

OK... I see what you mean: It is 14U, but the rails do not go all the way down... BUT I MADE IT WORK, as you can see... I attached te higher part to the Eurorack side-holders & has worked BEAUTIFULLY through the very long European tour..... Hope this helps!! Blessings to you!!

@@KBizzy again, it is not a flute... The Lyricon is AN ANALOG WIND CONTROLLER (IT DOES NO MAKE ANY SOUND)... it sends CONTROL VOLTAGES (CV, for short... meaning: varying levels of voltage) the same way you do with a dimmer on a lamp... I send three kinds of voltages: 1. WIND; 2. LIP ; 3. FINGERING.... 1. WIND CV is produced --PROPORTIONALLY!-- by how hard or soft I blow into the instrument (through the mouthpiece)... iThat I use mainly for volume, mainly)... So: the harder I blow, the louder the synth sounds... 2. Lip: SAME principle, but by virtue of Lip pressure over the sax-like reed (WHICH DOES NOT PRODUCE ANY SOUND)... the more I press the reed, the more CV is produce (this can be inverted)... and 3. Fingers CVs (produced by my botes fingering combination, like in a sax, flute or clarinet).
Now, by combining LIP CV & FINGERING CVs I can add vibrato or Pitch Bends to whatever note I am fingering... So all these CVs are assigned to diff parameters of the synth (VCOs, VCF, VCAs) that result in an extremely expressive --almost ALIVE-- sound, albeit it is electronic!! THAT's MANY SAY IT SOUNDS LIKE AN ACOUSTIC WIND INSTRUMENT...

IT sounds cool and everything but its a lot smaller than the original. Also it looks like a narcissist attention seeking scandalous Christmas tree taken from a NY city's gay parade. Besides that . . . , the instrument does the job it is intended to do an with a stable pitch. Thankfully people cannot see the source of the sounds! It really looks like a Christmas decorated little version of a Mexican maraca!!!! 😆
