    I'm glad a true, professional composer is sharing that it's OK to love Behringer products and they are of a quality that professionals can use. ESPECIALLY the 2600. I use it in all of my jams. I too could NEVER afford another vendors ARP 2600 reproduction... or a real one. THANK YOU for sharing this and thank you to Behringer for my beautiful 2600 (#behringer2600), Model-D, and Solina. I love them and they were all affordable. I hope one day to buy some of the System 100M modules and the Kobol Expander as well. I like Berlin School and Ambient music and these reproductions are classic to the sound, but impossible for me to own.

    This is such a fantastic look into the process of sound manipulation in real time. How someone is using the tools is way more interesting than the tools themselves. Proof that it's more about the archer than the bow and arrow

    Using a wind controller with an analog synth is just so expressive, freaky and cool😎. I really wish I'd stuck with those recorder and chanter lessons when I was a kid. Pedro is such a cool guy as well, his enthusiasm brightened my day.

    I love the excitement that Pedro has for Behringer products. I've used Behringer for over 25 years because they are affordable and reliable. You don't have to be rich or a professional musician to afford some great-sounding gear. I make music out of love rather than for profit. Behringer has made it possible for me to enjoy my GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) without going broke. Thanks, Pedro, we need more musicians with your enthusiasm and charm to promote a company that caters to the everyman rather than just the elite! Peace and cheers!

    I wish that all b2600s had those single-CV-to-all-oscillators mods. Same with easy triggering with a single external gate.
    Controlling it with MIDI works fine, but playing via a single external CV and gate is a pain.

    James, I have to totally agree with your comparison of name brand meds to generic meds with synths. No one will complain to save money on meds. I have no complaints with Behringer. I am happy with what I have. They have saved me a lot of money. With what I have (total of 7 synths and drum machines), getting all the originals, I would've spent over $22,000 USD at current prices, and that's not including the cost of a divorce for even trying to spend that type of money on equipment. I even have some of their pedals and their interfaces. With their new Pro-800, Behringer is saving me $3,100 on some of the Sequential sounds that I want. I mean who else is doing that. Thank you for this great video James.

    The moment Pedro started playing with the patches I immediately recognized some of the sounds that were part of Dune! Hopefully he could confirm this and provide some patch guideline. Having this (affordable) level of world-class sound design available for the masses is almost a dream today!

    • @pedroeustache5511
      @pedroeustache5511 2 роки тому +20

      Hi !! I played very few electronics in Dune... but many of my unique acoustic wind sounds were modified with uHe's Zebrify & many other plugins by geniuses like Hans, Howard Scarr, etc... So, based on what is on the original score, I came up with the patches you heard me demonstrate here, which I use in our tour concerts... Juan Garcia-Herreros [Snow-Owl] did also some serious sound design [he told me two days ago he literally destroyed 6 bases making sounds that are part of the desert machines]. I built custom instruments that were then heavily modified with plugins... And I will share the patch soon... Just got to Geneva-Switzerland, after 9Hrs in a bus from Milano-Italy (where we played last night)... Touring is great, but also really hard!!! Blessings!!

      Hi!! NO ENVELOPE FOLLOWER!! And It is not a flute... IT IS A LYRICON VINTAGE ANALOG WIND CONTROLLER (I EXPLAIN THAT IN THE VIDEO...) IT SENDS WIND, LIP & FINGERS CONTROL VOLTAGES... IT IS NOT ACOUSTIC... ALL ELECTRONIC... GOD BLESS YOU!!

      @@pedroeustache5511so you’re playing it ‘like’ a flute but the response is that of a synthesizer, correct?

    • @pedroeustache5511
      @pedroeustache5511 2 роки тому

      @@KBizzy again, it is not a flute... The Lyricon is AN ANALOG WIND CONTROLLER (IT DOES NO MAKE ANY SOUND)... it sends CONTROL VOLTAGES (CV, for short... meaning: varying levels of voltage) the same way you do with a dimmer on a lamp... I send three kinds of voltages: 1. WIND; 2. LIP ; 3. FINGERING.... 1. WIND CV is produced --PROPORTIONALLY!-- by how hard or soft I blow into the instrument (through the mouthpiece)... iThat I use mainly for volume, mainly)... So: the harder I blow, the louder the synth sounds... 2. Lip: SAME principle, but by virtue of Lip pressure over the sax-like reed (WHICH DOES NOT PRODUCE ANY SOUND)... the more I press the reed, the more CV is produce (this can be inverted)... and 3. Fingers CVs (produced by my botes fingering combination, like in a sax, flute or clarinet).
      Now, by combining LIP CV & FINGERING CVs I can add vibrato or Pitch Bends to whatever note I am fingering... So all these CVs are assigned to diff parameters of the synth (VCOs, VCF, VCAs) that result in an extremely expressive --almost ALIVE-- sound, albeit it is electronic!! THAT's MANY SAY IT SOUNDS LIKE AN ACOUSTIC WIND INSTRUMENT...
      Hope this helps you to understand a bit better... God bless you!!

Besides that . . . , the instrument does the job it is intended to do an with a stable pitch. Thankfully people cannot see the source of the sounds! It really looks like a Christmas decorated little version of a Mexican maraca!!!! 😆
