I've got a first gen, first year mule. Never let me down once in 15 years and its not even a 4x4 because that wasn't available the first year they were released. I love Kawasaki, especially their old stuff. I hope this build is a success. I'm a new sub and look forward to the end result.
Ive played with a few of them. Mules were slow and for good reason. The suspension sucks so bad that it may have been better without any. Cant wait to see this project.
Thanks for the link to the Duromax. Unfortunately, my Mule is a 620, and the torque converter is on the opposite side. As a result, the head is up against the transmission. I am having a heck of a time trying to get that engine to fit. I will probably need to lift the engine to have enough clearance. I am sure it will turn out good, but boy is it a challenge right now. Wish mine fit as easily as yours did. I am using a bilge blower to move air over the torque converter, and because of the clearance issues, I had to get a longer belt. I will let you know if I ever succeed.
You make such original and high quality builds, this channel deserves a lot more attention. And HOW CAN YOU TEASE US WITH THAT MONSTER SINGLE CYLINDER and not tell anything about it!!! :) Keep up the good work!
Careful grinding on brake linings. 😬. They used to have asbestos in them. I’m not sure if they still do, but I’m sure anything substituted now isn’t any better; we just haven’t heard about it yet!
Just bought a 2500 mule this morning...Came with a brand new in the box Predator 670 and all the old parts. This should be fun...The original engine is pretty much junk.
nice. making me excited to get my golf cart down here where i live and do an engine swap. the stock 2 cycle is old and tired. looking at a 212cc tilitson electric start. plan on running a stage one kit, keeping it governed and running a torque converter and a forward reverse tranny. going to be a hoot once i can get it done.
OpposingForces I just finished my 81 Yamaha g1 with a ttr 230cc 6spd and I put a turbo on it I also put a Yamaha Bruin 350 front end on it , its a beast !
Enjoy your videos alot i have mule 3010 with blown motor i pulled motor out and got a duramax 440 cc to put inwell the clutch broke trying to take off blown motor and iam wondering what kind of clutch to put on its 1 inch shaft on 440 and also how much do i raise 440 to make everything match and work could use some help please
long shot just blown engine one mule 610 dose torque converta and flywheel bolt on the duromax or dose it need enginering ect will have look in uk if can get the engines
Hey RB, I got a 2000 Mule 550, and was inspired to fix it up by your vids. Almost done, one thing I cannot figure out is where the non battery end of the ground cable actually goes??? Even looked online. Can you or anybody else tell me the stock location? Thanks and keep up the cool vids.
Isnt a duromax engine rotation different to the Kawasaki fe290d used in the mule ? I did a swap in mine and the Honda engine I used actually spun differently to the Kawasaki so it was super slow in forwards and crazy fast in reverse might of just been me though
I have the same one, or very similar. Have you ever had any issues with it not going into gear? And do you know of any common problems or things i should upgrade
I would save that head and put it on something turning 9k. It makes no sense to put a ported head on a engine your wanting low rpm torque from because you going to lose low end torque for sure. That is not what ported heads are for. When you port a head your more or less moving your power range up in the rpm.
Hey what’s up red beard, I seen u put a 440cc engine on the Kawasaki mule 550, I have a few questions what kind of clutch puller did you use to pull the primary clutch off with cause I have a 3 claw puller put it on the clutch and it broke the clutch back plate how can I take it now cause it’s really on the engine it won’t budge off I tried ever thing
if its the ct200u or ct200u-ex the parts and upgrades are almost endless. Watch RBG's walk thru's on each of the four stages. It'll take the stock 6.5hp and bump it up to around 22hp if I remember his estimate correctly. If its the smaller coleman ct100u then it has the 3hp smaller engine and can still be upgraded, just not as much. At least that's been my experience, just harder to find the right size mods.
What can I do to keep from flipping and snapping belts on my mb200-2? I already got a longer belt size per Gopowersports recommendation and still flipped and snapped. Only made two rides so far and each time I've been stranded.
lazydog1964 I’ve never experienced that problem, I’ve only gotten perfectly packaged nice parts from them. It’s mostly just a few guy shop so if you contact them they’ll probably replace or refund it for free.
I got 2 from them that were oversized, ordered 1'' got 1.118''. They took money off for it but by time I paid shop to turn them down to speck they were 25 bucks more expensive... I use bmicarts now... Cheaper too!

Just ordered my 440cc. thanks for the awesome discount!!!
Thanks for supporting us sir
@@RedBeardsGarage you are very welcome. Thank you for all of the inspiration and the knowledge you share.
Spin that secondary clutch outer forwards and push in at the same time. Will open gap to slide or belt up and over.
You have came a long way from when you started RBG. Love ❤️ the work. Keep it up.
Love watching you guys, and can I just say that Becca (aka Mrs Redbeard) is an amazing camera person. Stay awesome 😎🤘
Hell yeah can't wait to see it finished it's gonna be a beast

I got a old electric golf cart that's dead I'm going to convert it because of your channel
Bro I just came back here to remember these crazy builds
this is pretty cool man keep up the good work
Pretty kool, bringing new life to a old machine. Keep up the good work ya'll
We learned this lesson when my wife sank my Teryx4 in deep water. 4 wheelers pull side by sides crappy lol
Solid project and good idea to ditch the old engine, if this was a quarry unit, you can bet it's been abused.
Your getting all the cool projects!
Thanks red beard for all the good cont2
Can’t wait to see this up and working , awesome stuff as usual 🤘🏻🐿🤘🏻
You make such original and high quality builds, this channel deserves a lot more attention.
And HOW CAN YOU TEASE US WITH THAT MONSTER SINGLE CYLINDER and not tell anything about it!!! :)
Keep up the good work!
I just picked up a 650kaw prairie engine on the cheap cant wait its buggy time.
I’m from Tennessee and I can definitely tell that y’all are too haha love the content!
Can you give us more info on that 625cc engine you tried first?
Awesome, so glad to see this video, I've been wondering how to increase my power on my mule 550 aswell... thanks!!
That thing is awesome I have the same one with outlaw 2 tires and a gear reduction
No you dont
@@michaelknowsall1410 shut up you jealous
@@jaked7316 and you are 10
You could shim the inside of the secondary clutch to have a slightly wider opening, which would alleviate the belt tightness.
Enjoyed the show as always
hey RBG don't forget that it needs nice pressure wash when your sorting it out too
Awesome! Might have to do this with mine. Also if you don't do a line lock burnout now, im gonna be disappointed.
Mules are tough our 2008 3010 can pull hay wagons and telephone poles and wherever you gotta

They are ceramic, or carbon-metallic these days
Update on the IRS buggy??cant wait to see it done

Hey you install the engine backwards. Honda clones the cilinder head goes facing back!! You have it facing forward.
Man I really hope i can make it to the WInrock Meet for my birthday! And i can't find that Open & Shut penetrating oil sold anywhere online.
It's made by Lawson products Drummond open shut penetrating oils
It definitely looked like the bolt on the head was hitting the gas tank when you guys were jumping on the back of the mule.

Speakn of lights I wanta run a headlight on a minibike. Do you have a battery pack or something like that. That y'all would recommend..??
I love this channel you guys are so dang funny keep up the great video's
long shot just blown engine one mule 610 dose torque converta and flywheel bolt on the duromax or dose it need enginering ect will have look in uk if can get the engines
Very cool machine. Just an Idea pressure wash the machine first and you will have a lot less dirt to work with. LOL.

Just ground it to the swing arm and the engine. Thanks for supporting us man!

I've got a 88 mule 1000 frame with the transmission that the motors built to would this work on it
Hola at your boi if you need some bright lights😂
Could you have clearanced the original fan to make it fit in the stock cover ? At least ground some off the fins
Pretty awesome, but when do we get to meet Clarence?
Can you put a 40 series clutch on mule 500 (it’s 270cc/9hp)
Will duromax be making a v-twin motor?
what was the first engine you test fitted in the mule?
I love my king quad.
Man people must be sitting on UA-cam waiting g to post "First". Go outside!!!
Mike Flynn that’s what I’m saying
It's downtime and then getting a notification so you click on. Doesn't mean everyone is sat here all day waiting.
Lol at work on lunch
A lot of those are bots.
Mike Flynn UA-cam keeps on deleting these so called view bots so everyone uploading to UA-cam barely has any views compared to their other videos.
I'm needing to put a new engine on a 2005 mule 600. It's there anyway I could contact yall for some questions and ideas?
Strong as a mule
Best Coleman ct200u replacement carb?

Have you ever tried to build a better performing Kawasaki 620
I cant believe the quad had trouble pulling that
Tire was locked up on the Mule.
Instead of a longer belt just elongate the engine plate holes 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch towards the rear and move engine back.
I have a question about mods for my coleman mini bike I have the stage one but haven't seen anything beyond that. What parts will interchange

Man stomp at that shifter a little harder
i own one of these and i was wondering if there is anyway to get more power out of stock engine
I wish I could hang out with y'all
You think a 3 cylinder kubota diesel would fit in that?
Isn’t this gonna make reverse forward and forward reverse.
Does the diff not lock on the king quad?
Is there enough room to pull my 24foot trailer and park it
Hey red beard why do you say the duralast motor has more cc than a predator 212 when they are only 196cc
I believe he was referring to the Duromax 440cc because the predator is only 420cc
woo19woo74 yeah I went back and rewatched
Where is Lonnie ???
27:46 "Aul ooh got gubeless!"
Man u guys should do a Jr dragster with a hyabusa

I sold our mule 3010 4x4 for 500 bucks. All it needed was a fuel pump and fuel pressure relay.
your gonna give her ahead when the time comes lol boy oh boy
Where did u get the new motor
I'm calling you out for race in Arizona in my rocket 88 420cc duromax 16hp Club cart I'm having trouble uploading a video on UA-cam for the call out
I need to know what piston rod to get for it
will the duromax run on diesel
i would love to have street legal tumbler on that size.
How about a Ninja engine swap into a Mule. Can it be done?
It looked like it hit the tank to me?
Cant u raise the motor a bit?
I need to rebuild my kaf300 Kawasaki mule engine
Any advice
Should put a honda V65 engine on it. 😁
Every time you say clearance all I hear is “his real name is Clarence”
Hope you had the diff locked and super low? No way that gal should struggle pulling a kawasucky 😒
What happened to the school bus
The motor spins the opposite direction than a regular motor I found out the hard way
That's what i tought too, but I suppose they checked before going trough all the hard work.
Ya I had a mule and I put a different motor on it and the gearing was completely backwards
You fellas need a pressure washer :) peace
theres a gsxr 600 going for $300 works and everything near me in florida hmu if interested
It’s Great you get free stuff from Gopowersports because they send me junk, just got a bent Axle
