    "Why don't we have one more drink and go down and cut that shark open." - Martin Brody

    WOW that was excellent. I have always loved Chief Brody, and Roy Scheider for giving him to us. Martin Brody is often a go to when I need to decide in life what is morally correct on a topic that was not perhaps cover in my up bringing. I was just a kid at the drive in 1975 watching Jaws. I lived in Southern California where going to the beach was just a part of life, and the shark certainly affected me for years to come. however, it was Chief Brody that has effected me for a life time. Because of your video, I may be closer to understanding exactly why that is...Thank you for that insight...really, very well done.

    I always thought the three main characters of Jaws represent different parts of man's personality.
    Quint wanting to be more muscle than brain;
    Hooper wanting to be more brain than muscle;
    and Brody is the man stuck in the middle.

    In essence as well, since the ocean is the unconscious, the shark is the interpretation of the shadow, or the monster that Brody must confront.

    Hooper was always my favourite. When I was a kid, he was they only person who loved sharks as much as I did.

    Your certifiable Quint.

    I'd forgotten about the part in the book where Quint kills the little Blue Shark and watches it eat itself with great delight! The film also misses out on the fact that he uses an unborn dolphin as bait for 'Bruce' too.....And Ellen Brody having an affair with Matt Hooper.....AND Larry Vaughns involvement with the New York Mafia! THIS is why books are often SO much better than films! The book of 'Jaws the Revenge' also has a sub plot where Hogie Newcombe is involved in Cocaine smuggling, and there is also a Voodoo influence on the shark too!

    @ 5:47 Tashtego is the name of one of the harpooneers in Moby Dick.Never noticed that little detail before. Originally
    Spielberg wanted to have Quint in a theter watching Moby Dick and laughing uproariously at it. This idea was later used by Martin Scorsese in his remake of Cape Fear, with the addition of a cigar that seems to put out immense amounts of smoke.

    The algorithm, breaking my heart. I’m sad to see you don’t seem to be doing more of these, this is likely the best analysis of a film I’ve seen.

      Literally wrong every time, the only time he's right is when referring to the book, probably because he looked up someone else's work...this guy sucks, and you suck just as bad
