Yeah I second the idea of a list, this particular episode had a few blunders in it that couldve easily been fixed. Feels like they just drew up the grid and hit record
I'm impressed that the enterprising Jolly Olive has managed to make several office trivia games into a thriving UA-cam empire. That's a good Jomboy hire right there.
its mostly because he has been on the Mets for 4 years and had struggles when he moved to the Mets, so everyone just thinks about him as a Met who had a resurgence
I had Valverde immediately for Detroit saves but also Willie Hernandez...straightforward grids all around, 9/9 in the main and bonus. Adam's Kraken hat is fun fodder for Leafsland!
This one was fun! Made me think of a lot of players I haven't thought about in a while. My grid, completed in 1:22: Ken Griffey Jr. | Carlos Delgado | Mike Schmidt Randy Johnson | Roy Halladay (first guess: Dave Stieb) | Steve Carlton Kaz Sasaki | Mike Timlin | Billy Wagner
& the TTT round: Cecil Fielder | Phil Nevin | Pete Alonso Jeremy Bonderman | Jake Peavy | Pedro Martinez Jose Valverde | Rollie Fingers | Jeurys Familia (first guess: Braden Looper)
Round 2 Grid: 40+ Miguel Cabrera, Ken Caminiti, Pete Alonso 200+ Justin Verlander, Kevin Brown, Johan Santana 30+ Fernando Rodney, Trevor Hoffman, Francisco Rodriguez
40+ HR: SEA: Nelson Cruz, TOR: Jose Bautista, PHI: Ryan Howard. 200+ K: SEA: Felix Hernandez, TOR: Roy Halladay, PHI: Steve Carlton. 30+ SV: SEA: Edwin Diaz, TOR: Roberto Osuna, PHI: Mitch Williams
It might be fun to add bonus points if some one gets a player that isnt on anyone elses board. seeing edgar martinez chosen was fun when the more obvious answers were probly griffey or arod
I was hoping someone would say Ryan Madson for Phillies saves. Reds signed him to a one year deal in 2012, he got hurt and paved the way for Chapman to become a closer.
For Detroit with 30 Saves my thought was Willie Hernandez, on account of his winning a probably undeserved MVP and Cy Young Award in a season where he had 32 Saves. He was great but not MVP or Cy Young great, which makes his awards a pretty historic theft from other guys.
Not sure if I would have been able to beat BBD and Dan's time in the first round. It took me a while to come up with Henke. Jay Buhner Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Mike Schmidt Randy Johnson Roger Clemens Steve Carlton Kazuhiro Sasaki Tom Henke Brad Lidge Hank Greenberg Ken Caminiti Todd Hundley Hal Newhouser Jake Peavy Tom Seaver Willie Hernandez Trevor Hoffman Armando Benitez
BBD got cheated with Papelbon and still made it to the finals
wdym
@@aidenho8354 Jolly told BBD Pablebon qasn't correct and he told Jomboy that it was. Which is the right answer.
Dominant force
Yeah wtf it’s not even close, Papelbon had a 38 and 39 save season with the Phil’s. What was buddy looking at?
Papplebon didn't have 40 saves with Philly. So is that let the boss win?
Papelbon had 30 saves twice for the Phillies and is the franchise leader in saves all time.
That is both a testament to Papelbon and an indictment of the Phillies for their lack of excellence at Closer.
Jolly, how do you not have lists for each category ready to go. They won't be very long and will fit on one page.
truly mindblowing
Yeah I second the idea of a list, this particular episode had a few blunders in it that couldve easily been fixed. Feels like they just drew up the grid and hit record
5:11 Edgar never hit 40 homers in Seattle, he was more a doubles hitter.
Yep. Career high was 37 home runs in 2000, only time he had more than 29...
The second I saw Edgar marinez I said noooooo way
The Mariners fans knew haha
I'm impressed that the enterprising Jolly Olive has managed to make several office trivia games into a thriving UA-cam empire. That's a good Jomboy hire right there.
Having to check steve carltons stats to see if he every cleared 200 ks in a season is insulting. He cleared 300 one year.
Edwin Diaz has the 2nd best season by saves in MLB history, but people constantly forget about him which is weird.
Probably for 2 reasons - he isn't currently playing for Seattle, and he's been hurt all year
Also because he wasn't even the best reliever that season. It was Blake Treinen.
its mostly because he has been on the Mets for 4 years and had struggles when he moved to the Mets, so everyone just thinks about him as a Met who had a resurgence
You guys run an enterprising business...this needs to be a daily app like pickle
look up immaculate grid
This series is extremely educational and as someone who loves baseball but only got into it in 2021 that is immensely helpful.
Edgar never had a 40 homer season
You'd think they'd have a pre-printed list of qualifiers going into this. They messed up on Papelbon having a couple of 30+ saves seasons too...
BBD with the sneaky I Think You Should Leave reference 👀 I see you
For BBD, Papelbon did not have 30 saves. For Jimmy, he did.
Casey Janssen for Jays 30 saves is a nice pull
I was thinking BJ Ryan
This was the fastest one I’ve ever got. Awesome vid gang
This one only took me 45 seconds lmao
Griffey Jr, Guerrero Jr, Howard
King Felix, Halladay, Lee
Diaz, Romano, Papelbon
Jake saying Harry Potter and the reaction afterwards lol
First guy was on FIYAH! FIFTY-SIX SECONDS!
WOOOOOOOOOO!
When can this become a live online show with viewers competing?
Jays fan here, pretty proud of my Brandon Morrow pull for the 200K season
I got my morrow jersey rdy to go
I had Valverde immediately for Detroit saves but also Willie Hernandez...straightforward grids all around, 9/9 in the main and bonus. Adam's Kraken hat is fun fodder for Leafsland!
Jays 30+ saves was the hardest for me. Finally thought of Osuna
Bj Ryan
This one was fun! Made me think of a lot of players I haven't thought about in a while.
My grid, completed in 1:22:
Ken Griffey Jr. | Carlos Delgado | Mike Schmidt
Randy Johnson | Roy Halladay (first guess: Dave Stieb) | Steve Carlton
Kaz Sasaki | Mike Timlin | Billy Wagner
& the TTT round:
Cecil Fielder | Phil Nevin | Pete Alonso
Jeremy Bonderman | Jake Peavy | Pedro Martinez
Jose Valverde | Rollie Fingers | Jeurys Familia (first guess: Braden Looper)
I thought Stieb too.
Best year was 198
I LOVE using the Team Picture for the player cutouts instead of random team the players played on.
40+ Alex Rodriguez, Jose Bautista, Ryan Howard
200+ Felix Hernandez, Robbie Ray, Roy Halladay
30+ David Aardsma, Billy Koch, Billy Wagner
Round 2 Grid:
40+ Miguel Cabrera, Ken Caminiti, Pete Alonso
200+ Justin Verlander, Kevin Brown, Johan Santana
30+ Fernando Rodney, Trevor Hoffman, Francisco Rodriguez
Seattle: Griffey, Felix, and Diaz
Toronto: Donaldson, Gausman, and Romano
Philly: Howard, Halladay, and Lidge
maybe 30 sec.
Ken Griffey Jr.-Carlos Delgado-Ryan Howard
Robbie Ray-Roy Halladay-Steve Carlton
Edwin Diaz-Tom Henke-Billy Wagner
40+ HR: SEA: Nelson Cruz, TOR: Jose Bautista, PHI: Ryan Howard. 200+ K: SEA: Felix Hernandez, TOR: Roy Halladay, PHI: Steve Carlton. 30+ SV: SEA: Edwin Diaz, TOR: Roberto Osuna, PHI: Mitch Williams
It might be fun to add bonus points if some one gets a player that isnt on anyone elses board. seeing edgar martinez chosen was fun when the more obvious answers were probly griffey or arod
Seattle: Boomstick, The King, Steady Eddie
Toronto: Delgado, Dave Steib, Romano
Philly: Schmidt, Carlton, Mitch Williams
Wow how tf did Dave Stieb never do it, 2 K’s away. Halladay
How did no one say Fernando Rodney for the mariners?
Surprised nobody said Rodney for Mariners saves
Gregory Soto last year for DET 30 saves
Gregory "Heart Attack" Soto
SEA 40 HR: Alex Rodriguez
SEA 200 K: Felix Hernandez
SEA 30 saves: J.J. Putz
TOR 40 HR: Jose Bautista
TOR 200 K: A.J. Burnett
TOR 30 saves: Roberto Osuna
PHI 40 HR: Ryan Howard
PHI 200 K: Cole Hamels
PHI 30 saves: Brad Lidge
Cimber getting Halladay for Philliy makes us Jays fans happy.
I was hoping someone would say Ryan Madson for Phillies saves. Reds signed him to a one year deal in 2012, he got hurt and paved the way for Chapman to become a closer.
edgar martinez never had a 40 homer season
Griffey Jr./Guerrero Jr./Howard
Hernandez/Halladay/Halladay
Diaz/Osuna/Lidge
Was hoping someone would've pulled out J.J. Putz for Seattle.
BBD is a machine
I kept waiting for someone to guess Tom Henke for Toronto 30 saves.
For Detroit with 30 Saves my thought was Willie Hernandez, on account of his winning a probably undeserved MVP and Cy Young Award in a season where he had 32 Saves. He was great but not MVP or Cy Young great, which makes his awards a pretty historic theft from other guys.
Edgar Martinez did not have a 40 homer season.
And Papelbon had at least 30 saves for the Phillies. Jolly was off in this video.
Hoffman for the Pads is an easy one win dealing with saves
BBD should have gone for tigers 30 saves on his third move. Would have set himself up nicely.
Not sure if I would have been able to beat BBD and Dan's time in the first round. It took me a while to come up with Henke.
Jay Buhner Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Mike Schmidt
Randy Johnson Roger Clemens Steve Carlton
Kazuhiro Sasaki Tom Henke Brad Lidge
Hank Greenberg Ken Caminiti Todd Hundley
Hal Newhouser Jake Peavy Tom Seaver
Willie Hernandez Trevor Hoffman Armando Benitez
Questionable tic-tac-toe strat from BBD not going for Detroit 30+ saves to set up a double block...didn't matter in the end
Which is it? Do Paplebon’s two 30+ almost 40(39,39) save seasons count or not?
Roy halladay and roger clemens from the title. Is this vid worth watching. Lets see
Try doing a board with a theme of the six teams that never won the World Series (SD, TEX, MIL, SEA, COL, & TB).
A disturbing lack of respect for DAVE STIEB and TOM HENKE
And Guillermo "Willie" Hernandez, the 1984 AL MVP and Cy Young Award winner for Detroit...
Stieb never fanned 200 batters in a season
@@cls022268 Ahh, you're right. He fell 2 strikeouts short in 1984...
@@positively_broad_st3780 and you are generally correct that Stieb gets very little respect. A truly great pitcher.
Give me J.J. Putz for 30 saves Seattle
I feel you give the MLB player guests some clues to help them out...am I right? The edits sort of give it away.
Which is fine...be ruthless with the JM Baseball people.
Y’all lucky I didn’t participate that week 💯
Edgar Martinez never had a 40 homer season. on top of that, he only ever had 1 30 homer season
Griffey Jr, Bautista, Schwarber
Johnson, Ray, Halladay
Diaz, ?, Lidge
Fernando Rodney would've been a good one for Seattle's closer
and also Detroit's lmao
Did Jeff Fassero get 200 ks for Mariners? Or was it just with the Expos?
Didn't KRod and Rodney have 30+ save seasons with Detroit?
Shout out JJ Putz
I made the same face Jake did when I said Osuna.
Did anyone say Fernando Rodney lmao I blanked
Tom Henke 30 saves for the Blue Jays.
I've gotten 4 in the 1st round...probably the best I'll ever do. lol
Griff Randy Rodney Bautista Ray Romano Shwarb Nola IDK
Cabs Scherzer Soto Tatis Musgrove Hoffman Alonso Degrom Diaz
Wow, the fact that Cimber and Mayza didn't immediately say Romano is cringe.
This is so confusing. What are the parameters? Is it for 1 season? Career with team? Edgar never hit 40 HR season
Day 69 of demanding that Lastings Milledge makes an appearance on RefGuess
These guys would have such an easier go of it if they'd expand their baseball knowledge beyond 2010....
easiest grid yet
Cimber proves athletes can indeed be smart!
*applause*
...now just lose the next two games, please.
nobody said kyle schwarber for phillies 40+ hr despite him leading the NL in hr last season 😢
Randy Johnson has 2 career saves
If BBD did DT 30 before he did the middle grid he could have won in 2 directions.
Yo yo
Not a great thumbnail when I can think of half a dozen b4 I even start the video. That's not a difficult question. Bad title
Baseball does not belong in Canada if there are no Teams in Mexico...Racists! LOL

Not even remotely a Tigers fan but seeing 30+ saves for the Tigers made me immediately think Shane Greene
The legendary Fernando Rodney Experience
40+ HR: DET: Miguel Cabrera, SDP: Greg Vaughn, NYM: Mike Piazza. 200+ K: DET: Justin Verlander, SDP: Jake Peavy, NYM: Dwight Gooden. 30+ SV: DET: Jose Valverde, SDP: Trevor Hoffman, NYM: Jeurys Familia.
