herodot2 Thanks for pointing that out! It's a bit of an experiment from my end. I only played the pedal point once every 2 phrases instead of repeating it for every phrase to create an illusion of a continuous pedal point. The A is suppose to hold via the sostenuto pedal on every other phrase, but due to the recording quality, that didn't quite come out the way I thought it would!
Matthew Ming Li Interesting idea to hold the pedal point with the sostenuto pedal (and quite obvious, really, but it didn't come to me before). I'll try that out.
Matthew, you a very talent young pianist, all you need is get in to the piece, your fuge is better, but the first notes in the entrance of 1&2 voice you play stacatto, is no such mark and for that fuge it doesn´t sound nice, remember is a transcription by Liszt,in the entrance of the theme of voice 3&4 you play good. Your sound is fine but is no diference one voice to another, the sound has to be diferent, like a diferent instrument in the piano you can do such thing, you have a great future.
excellent, seriously!!
those trills...super work.
Wonderful playing!
An absolutely brilliant performance of the transcription, maestro. Your understanding of the form and structure is remarkable. Kudos !!!
what an amazing piece and an amazing performance! good job!!
Thank you! :)
Glad you liked it :)
great fugue!!
Those were very enjoyable 9 minutes and 26 seconds for me!
The first the organ point A is loud like thunder, in the next phrase it is inaudible. Why?
