Hey all. Sorry for the sniffles and such, this actually ended up being the 2nd day of about 12 days of very mild cold symptoms. Felt fine, but had a runny nose in the cold that night. Anyway, trying to figure out the way to best plow and operate with the John Deere 430 setup. Any owners who have some ideas on smooth operation with the right hand throttle, the left hand levers and then the steering wheel (third hand?) feel free to offer some pro tips up on the comment section. Thanks for watching!
I found this out after a couple years, the lever that controls the up down for your plow if you push all the way forward it allows the blade to float. That way your hands are free for hydro speed and steering. I love my 430 and I also own a JD 330. Love the content keep up the good work!
@@mattprice6317 yep, I covered that function in my first video for the full install of the plow. That is a very useful feature which I use most of the time for plowing. What I really need to do is upgrade the cutting edge on the plow. Thanks for watching!
Always great to see these old tractors putting in some work. It is difficult dealing with a dirt drive with plow or snowblower - rather than go into the street with the scraps and putting dirt etc. into the farmer's lot (really not a big deal tho) I would start in the street and work a pile toward the house somewhere and that way in spring you will have a pile of your own dirt to spread back on the drive. Also, until you build an icy underlayer across the drive, keep the shoes low to raise up the plow to leave a layer of snow that will be packed down over time. Once the hard layer is built up, you can raise the shoes to plow most of the snow that has fallen. Hope this makes sens, good luck!
Thanks for the advice David. Last eeason was my first using this plow so I was basically trying to figure out a method as I went. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hey man, stumbled across your channel. Love your 430, I have a 400 myself, with tru powers as well. I did 20 gallons of beat juice in my tires, and it’s the best upgrade I’ve ever done for my tractor. It rides a lot smoother, and the extra 220 lbs really helps things out across the board. If you do beat juice, and hang 300lbs of weight off your 3 point, you’ll be loving that thing pushing snow. I use high range for plowing as well. You won’t believe the difference in performance of the plow with just a little extra speed. 2’ of snow won’t stop you. Again, love the 430!
Thanks Rob! There is a rimgaurd dealer within 30 miles or so that I was going to have load the rears. Hadn't got around to it yet but it's definitely in the plan. I think all the 400 series tractors are pretty capable machines. If I could find one with 540 pto installed, it would be hard to pass on.
That a awsome viedo ,what are those two black things behind you behind the sign on your tractor and how much would to get a tractor like that just the waybyou have it set it up
I think you're talking about the Ruegg 3 point hitch and I have a category 1 quick hitch from rural king on there for a little bit more weight. If that isn't what you're asking about, give me a timestamp from the video and I'll check it out again As far as the cost of everything for this setup, on my John Deere 430 transformation timelapse video, I have all the individual costs and the total cost toward the end of that video. Check it out. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I bought them online. The front tire install video tells the brand I believe. I will followup if I can find the site. Looks like it was on ebay for 172.00
You're 100% correct on that, and I would but right now my workbench and my husqvarna are in front of it. It is so close that the little bit of room I have to shut the doors would lost by the benefit I get from snugging the curve of the plow against the rear tires of the Husqvarna. When it gets nicer out, some rearranging definitely HAS to happen.

Do you feel your need rear weights on your tractor for plowing? I'm look at doing that right now.
Chains were completely adequate without weights, however, without chains, weights would help greatly.

And if you back it in you can jumpstart it instead of waiting on charger.
We're going to do a spring cleaning of that shed so I can fit the tractors in that way.

i like the front tires, i been looking for those, would you mind to tell me where you buy them from?

Back your tractor in and it won't kill you when your warming it up.

Hi. Love the videos! Where did you get your chains for your 430?
Mine were purchased as a Christmas present so not 100% on this but I am 99% sure that these were in stock at TSC.
