Over its years vacant this site would become something of a popular stop among urban explorers, daredevils, and paranormal investigators alike... and rightfully so, as its expanse is shrouded in a number of tales of terror, and reports of encounters with the otherworldly. Its good to finally see it get redevelopment last year.
I'm sure that I've heard of Six Flags before. It does sound like a really interesting place.
It was a great place, but it was a smaller park and there weren't a lot of thrill rides. They did have a water show. Other parks like Six Flags America in Maryland and Great Adventure in New Jersey are much better on the thrill rides and everything. It was really easy to do everything in one day if you got there at opening. In Maryland they actually have the Batman show, and the western areas and those were great shows. I haven't been to the Maryland Six Flags since the late 90s so I don't know what's happening there now especially since COVID. I was only in New Jersey once in 1984. Never made it back. Hopefully this incarnation will be something interesting here in New Orleans, but I will have to wait and see.
I've been there several times when it was open both jazzland and Six Flags as a young teenager then later as adult I went uben exploring with my friends after a long night of partying I don't know what we were thinking I guess we wanted to see some ghostly Wasteland experience I don't know. through this whole documentary I kept waiting for that one picture that either I or friends' took lol fun times miss it. Good to hear they're bringing it back.
I have been to the site when it was Jazzland, and I still have my coffee mug that I got there. Also been several times during its Six Flags Incarnation. Currently I live in Mid-City New Orleans and will be looking forward to seeing what happens over there. I never snuck in during its closure. I heard they still have security on site and I don't want to be arrested for trespassing. A lot of people have posted UA-cam videos of them sneaking in and I have just watched those. Hopefully it will be something awesome 😎
I could swear I saw something when this park was used on NCIS New Orleans!
Shit bro this reminds me the very first version of Metro 2033. Same shit. Screaming kids, shadows on persons on walls, reflecting victims of the nuclear war destruction. This game was the best one I ever played.

i explored everything in the park besides the main area near the front gate, no ghost encounters 👍 also no security encounter & it was after bayou pheonix bought it
I'm from Slidell Louisiana, about 15 miles from this. That place was haunted before it opened the first time. This is due from hurricanes, battles, people being displaced to the area, and crime in the area. Being a medium, I could hear the voices from past people!
I'm pretty sure they filmed "Zombieland" here too.

I worked there for about one year as a ride operator and let me tell you, the people in charge are extremely shady and always rigged all their rides to keep their costs low while maximizing their profits from spoiled customers and underpaid employees......
