How to Play with Two Strikers || Football Analysis

The days of 2 strikers heading a teams formation is gradually finding its way back to popularity. Whether it be 4-4-2 Flat, 4-4-2 Diamond, 3-5-2 or any other variation, the benefits and danger of having a strike partnership is proving to be in demand.
Uruguay in the 2018 WC led with Suarez and Cavani, 2 consistent goal-scorers leading the line in a 4-4-2 diamond. The positional play, movement and combinations these 2 use with each other and the rest of the team create extremely dangerous goal-scoring situations.

Depends on personnel. If you trust you FB and CB and have mid fielders that are capable both offensively and defensively (1 playing CDM and 1 playing CAM in Diamond formation) 442 with the left and right mid fielders ideally acting as pacey wings to either free up the strikers or to cross into the box for the strikers.
You play 433 if you aren’t as confident in your back line, particularly your fullbacks have to move up in parallel with the left and Right mid fielders when they go the the attacking level in the 442 to become wings in order to keep the Diamond formation either with the two center mid fielders or with the center backs and the CDM depending on how aggressively you are pushing the offense so you have people back in case of a counter.
