      After hearing Brett Hart talk about how WCW flew him private, had limos picking him up, 5 star hotels, and getting paid 10s of thousands per week , I would have love to work for WCW then, and thats why Vince lost his talent. Imagine having to go back to Vince riding 4 deep in a rental car and having a room mate at the holiday inn making hundreds per week.
      That was the worst part of Vince losing his competition for his wrestlers I bet, he did not have to do anything special and they were begging him for work.

    The key thing that always gets forgotten about this was that 2K loved this! They were overjoyed that a boring game panel was so entertaining. There was an interview with a guy on the dev team where he said if the game hadn't already gone gold (been finished) this would've been something they would want in the games extras. Of course the WWE i.e. Stephanie and Vince mainly, were outraged and wanted someone's head...JR's was the one taken.
    It was WWE who called Flair, 4 months after he just lost his son to an OD, and asked him if he'd do the panel for 2K. For three weeks between his saying yes & the event, no one stopped to think if Flair, a notorious alcoholic, would be capable of making a public appearance where there would be drinks?! It's insane. Ross got shafted and Flair was just being himself... that's why we love him. Yes, he trying to smother his pain in booze but he also wanted to hang with the boys. Of course he'd say yes. This was a pure case of outrage culture in the corporate world.

      @@stevenweathers2989 Believe me I've been critical of Flair going back on his Dr's advice to continue drinking occasionally after his two health scares. But he's an adult and he makes his own rules. I read that one of the reasons he asked for his Legends deal release this month was because they'd been coming down on him again about his lifestyle. Sorry, he's RIC FLAIR. He is not going to change, and as much as I love the guy and would like to see him live forever, he doesn't have to do shit for anyone that he doesn't want to. And I admit I respect that attitude. There's much greater sins then buying Naitch a Kamikaze...

    • @aleksisuuronen9094
      @aleksisuuronen9094 3 роки тому

      I think it's more so that they got angry converence meetings from the brand JR mocked and if they say we are going to pull all of our sponsorship money out for the future the question becomes for wwe is JR worth that money, those huuge sums of cash, millions. And not only that if one sponsor pulls out for legimite reason it creates a fear of possibility of other sponsors pulling out because it would send a message that wwe don't care about their sponsors or does getting new big sponsors hard after that (I don't think that would have happened but it absolutely is something that comes into consideration). They are not going to fire the guy just because they made it entertaining by making it a circus exactly because it's wwe and if the game company loved it. If it would have been like an basketball commentator they would have been gone in a minute just by showing up drunk.

Whenever there was a break in between Flair stories, JR would let everyone know that he had lost control instead of just moving on to Dolph or Rey and asking them direct questions. Not saying he deserved to be fired, but you're in an industry where you have to think fast and improvise at times, he should've handled this better.

    Two things. --- 1. This was awesome. They should have given this group all the time they wanted to talk and just let the cameras keep rolling. 2. We don't see any gameplay video until after they cut the interview. They should have had samples or live gameplay rolling on the screen behind them to show it off. I'd say that occasional samples of wrestlers would have worked best during or after specific questions.

    Ric fucked the program but WWE had to take it out on JR. Plus his insults apparently aimed at the sponsors was the icing on the cake for the decision. Flair was drunk and took over the show and clearly the sponsors wanted more out of Dolph, Daniel, and Mysterio and not the retired stars. I'm sure money was a factor as usual.

    • @nellynelz8145

    • @kiyokoha
      @kiyokoha 7 років тому +1

      Nelly Nelz It should've, but this is a corporation. They don't care about Flair's problems or JR's attempts to keep the thing going. They care about money. Making WWE kid friendly has given the company a lot of money. Doesn't matter that the panel at the end was entertaining as hell. Doesn't matter that Ric Flair lost a son, which is why he was drunk in the first place. It doesn't even matter that kids can hear or read language worse than this on the Internet. The end result wasn't kid/corporate friendly enough. I've read some where that JR even said Flair shouldn't have been on the panel in the first place because he got wasted. If that's true, that means nobody listened to JR, and makes the firing even worse. Not to mention the cardinal sin of insulting a sponsor.

      Tna deserves no respect it's the worst run wrestling company of all time, nobody even knows it exists It did a 0.7 rating last week tna should just be happy that their company got plugged for free on somthing people will actually watch

    • @SPARTANNo137
      @SPARTANNo137 11 років тому +2

      David E Well obviously you know it exists, I know it exists, I have many friends that know it exists, and we all love it, at least what TNA puts out their doesn't constantly insult your intelligence like Disneyland on Monday nights, and really why are you attacking me because you don't like TNA (even though I doubt you've given it a chance) I mean wrestling is subjective, if I like it, and I think it's entertaining then what's the big deal I don't care if you like WWE, I mean more power to you, but once you grow up (or mature if you've already grown up) you'll realize that WWE is a show for kids, TNA is aimed at a more mature audience.

    • @DD-fs9xt
      @DD-fs9xt 11 років тому +3

      I've given it many chances the aces and eights were horrible, bully Ray is a middle of the road tag team guy who didn't draw dick and now that aces and eights is over I gave it another chance and I see this aj styles Dixie carter copying cm punk and Vince McMahon shit and their rip off of the authority it's horrible and if you think it's good your holding onto a dream cause it's the joke of the wrestling world and everyone knows it

    • @SPARTANNo137
      @SPARTANNo137 11 років тому +1

      David E I agree after a while Aces and Eights got pretty stale and boring but Bully Ray himself is a great singles heel, and if you are seriously saying aj styles and Dixie carter are copying the punk McMahon thing then you'd have to say that the Punk McMahon thing is a rip off of Ric Flair when he came to WWF with the NWA title, oh but I bet you didn't even know that that happened because all you are is a pg bullcrap WWE fan that isn't willing to say enough is enough with the WWE, the authority is just a gimmick so that sniffle h can get attention and bury young talent like Daniel Bryan. WWE has been doing the same thing with John Cena and Randy Orton for 7 years and if you are seriously gonna use ratings to defend Disneyland then guess what Raw has the lowest ratings its had in 15 years. Oh and once again obviously everyone doesn't "know it" because I have tons of friends that love TNA and I know of tons of people I'm not friends with that love it. WRESTLING IS SUBJECTIVE. Look up what subjective means buddy.

    • @DD-fs9xt
      @DD-fs9xt 11 років тому

      Idiot ratings do matter why do you think tna is failing ? Their isn't Enough money coming in to keep it going which is why they had to release half the roster so clearly ratings do matter. Wwe pushes stale talent? Tna has hogan as the face of their company for the past 2 years, they continue to have stings 54 year old ass in main event story lines as well as Kurt angle bully ray and other wwe alumni who are the only reason that company is still open. At least cena and orton are in their prime and they both draw massively. Just because Daniel Bryan isn't in the title picture anymore doesn't mean they aren't pushing him he's in a storyline with the Wyatt's you'd think people would aprreciate the wrestler wether he's near the title or not. Don't insult my knowledge of the buisness judging by me liking wwe I know very well what goes on in tna but I'm saying the main stream audience has no clue what it is only the smarter fans which is a minority. There's a diffrence between punk copying flair from 30 years ago almost everything in wrestling these days is ripped from old nwa and mid south ect, but punk mcmahon happend a year ago and your only kidding yourself if you think tna isn't trying to cash on on that success, like whatever you want but trying to say the product is anywhere near a wwe level is hilarious! Ric flair clearly thinks it's a joke, ex tna employees such as konnan Christian booker t Kevin nash kharma have all said the company is trash and I take their word over yours homie
