Are You Going To Wake Up From Cryosleep? - The Medical Futurist
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 жов 2018
- Cryonics has been around for more than sixty years, but recently it’s been getting more and more attention as billionaires from the Silicon Valley start to look at it as a real possibility to cheat death. The technology to put people into hibernation is not fictional. Even today, we can freeze people with terminal diseases, and put them in a state of suspended animation for an indefinite time until a cure is found… One tiny problem though. We’re not sure if we can wake them up.
Here’s our overview of cryonics, cryosleep, and cryotherapy: medicalfuturist.com/are-you-g...

Im only here because I had a weird dream that every one hundred years someone is selected to enter the cryosleep pod for one hundred years and see how the world has changed and teach about the world in their time, but it was sad bc in my dream after I woke I had no way to contact my friends on discord and other social media platforms because they were long dead by then.
This should be a show pitch it ill watch and support

Billionaire wakes up. Lamborghini Gone. Money isn't worth shit. Cheated death for what? To live longer in a different time you have no knowledge about? Imagine having a nightmare the whole time you're sleep? Hell what if you are never awakened? What if you're sleep for a very long time and then are awakened by some aliens 1000 years I to the future.

When they wake up, will there be someone to yell, “Welcome to the world of tomorrow!” If they don’t get this greeting and a career chip implant from a one- eyed humanoid alien, then it wasn’t worth it.

why the fuck do you want to see a fucking rapist
I hope in future we will crack this cryosleep technology 👍
Thanks Medical Futurist :)
I have had this dream for a long time, me sleeping and waking up from a machine, and me seeing the new world technologies and future politics. It would be really cool, would it not?
Same, my question is, how does it feel while you are frozen?
@@santiagobianchi5883 its probably like being in a coma
I am thinking waking up in a world 100 years for now would cause great mental anxiety and paranoia
Possible to make one insane how can we be sure this is not the case..
Idk being frozen would probably be incredibly painful.
Is it a good idea outside of science Yes and no
Yes because you would wake up decades maybe centuries your family dead the world different just looking outside you may find the world is such different that you might be considered as an alien why a being that is outside the human nor why you have lived longer than you should have
No because you would be in a world where you are outside you generation you may do things that may be considered taboo like talking to a female just a little bit strong the current laws are such different you could be considered a biological threat considering the basics how do you know there was no disease that you got in your sleep that can kill the entire human population on that planet if humans are at that point a multi planet species there would be a mutipuled number of possible problems you would need a team of people to educate you on new social norms. Okay thing of it like this one of the founding fathers come to the 21'st century there minds would think of it all as magic why anything a human can not understand they would think of it as what there minds can comprehend all in all it is not a feasible option untill we are able to wake them in there century orbthey might just break from the pressure back to the founding fathers example the air itself could be poisonous why because the air purity is at such a difference there bodies would not be able to breath cause our bodies are used to this air impurity theres are not there own bodies would reject there presence they might get Oxygen toxicity killing you from the very air you require to live
In the end a great idea but a traumatizing experience for person or people
According to What happened to Monday, you wouldn’t.
keep going :) Any lead on longevity?
You read my mind! We just started working on such an article + video.
cryo sleep is necessary for sub light travel over long distances. What else do you think people would do?

Now after SpaceX doing hyperloop tests later this year, we may not have to use cryo sleep
@@uncertainity188 aren't hyperloop a thing for fast trains in a vacuum or is this something space related?
@@kairon156 sorry, I misspoke, I mean warp drive. SpaceX and nasa are working on it. Idk, haven't looked too much into it yet.
@@kairon156 I should really say theoretical physicists and astrophysicists are trying to see if they can actually do it. It looks like they might be able to.
@@uncertainity188 Very cool to hear. even if it's only able to do 15-30% the speed of light that'll still bring so many stars closer to us. Turning millennium long trips into multi decade trips.
If cryogenics was to work there would be a problem are cell membranes have water which when they freeze the cells expand and they'll burst and our bodys will just turn into mush
Thers cryoprotectant for that.
Thank you Medical Futurist
Cryosleep is an ancient lost technology which we may be able to discover one day. The mention of seven sleepers in bible or the ishab-e-kahaf in Quran is an example of cryosleep. They spent 309 years in those pods in two different locations. Only few people know their true identity. Those who excavated their location may have the technology as well. The presumed location of seven sleepers in Turkey is not true.
i was about to say that thing...
How'd you solve the super serum addiction
Then they wake up to see an alien pointing a gun to their heads

@@firstclass8221 yet we kill babies... So ethical huh?
How much money is being put into the research of this technology?
What about Walt Disney?
What if we wer deprived of water would that work
Yeah no. Removing all of the water from your body would be even WORSE permanent damage than having it cystalize. You'd turn into a human raisin.
@@Name-nw9uj XD a human rasin
I want to know what a human raisin looks like right now.....
Hey! Come to cryosleep...what? Waking up? We dont do that here
So for how long will they be frozen?
indefinitely until science can revive them, they are technically dead. Until science has advanced enough to wake them they will be frozen
all these years bro
Plot twist: You are in cryosleep right now.
The way I see it this is theoretically possible.
The reason an animal, in this case a human, dies from being frozen is the water forming crystals and the cells being destroyed, if I'm understanding correctly.
So all you'd theoretically need to do is be killed in a way that damages the least amount of cells.
Then have all of the water in your body removed.
Next be frozen completely.
And when it comes time to be revived you just do the process in reverse.
Get thawed out, have the water replaced, and then you get revived.
I'm not gonna lie it's a serious case of "sounds easier than it is". But it is a theoretical solution. You wouldn't be considered biologically dead, where your brain is dead from lack of oxygen, because it'd still have some oxygen in it.
Now all we'd have to do is test this out on animals. Then maybe test it out on people if it works on animals.
I'll be honest. It's sounds pretty brutal. But that may just be how we end up having to do this. Turning ourselves into freeze dried vegetables in a instant ramen cup.
Can you survive with no water in your body though? Not at the moment. But then again, future technology may solve this. I want to do cryosleep when it’s possible.
I wake up from cryosleep to realize my 200 year old son is a delusional scientist terrorizing America
Fallout 4?
Yup, bad maintenance is the problem.
don't see the point of this anyways once they figure it out the only people who could afford it are 1% ers there would be a package for middle or low class
All sentient beings have the Tathagata’s wisdom and virtue, but they fail to realize it because they cling to deluded thoughts and attachments.
Vault tec becoming real life
WTH,I’ve been here for 200 years
Here from The Door Into Summer by Kento hahaha
I'm sure it will become commonplace in the future. If it will be possible to extend life for many centuries, then this is very cool. You will be able to realize yourself in different directions, try everything, travel in space. We must create our own community, because the government needs only short-lived slaves (who ready to satisfy all their needs). They don't care about us. Thats why we should develop science as quickly as possible, raise the general level of education among citizens.
My dream
when you already die before cryo there is no coming back, because you are already dead!!
and then we proceed to the events of fallout 4
That’s sounds cool
