Lol, I know im 12 years late but.........about the drums.......one of Preemos secrets was that he would always bury a TR808 kick drum under all of his main kick drums to make the bass sound way fatter (and way better in cars with sub woofers). I think he said he learned this trick from Marley Marl. Hope youre still making beats brother, peace!
funny thing about the sample preemo used i first heard it on 89.1 nyc radio way before preemo sampled it and i realized it was the same sample i heard but he echoed the end of the sample to make it work
Man you gotta come back and deconstruct more tracks. This is excellent and very educational, most in depth break downs out there in my opinion. Also if you want better responsive mpd pads you should get the fat pads from mpc stuff, They come in different colors
nah man.You don't need to shorten it! For what!?It's UA-cam.This aint ClearChannel or Radio One!Whoever isn't interested in the history can just scroll forward.I mean, this is what makes it a "SHOW". It adds to the educational element of it.Don't let this new school attention span dictate what you feel.Do you first and foremost.Especially in the spirit of the era you are repping. Don't conform. Let it flow with what feels natural and right to you at the time. This is how classics are created!
🔥🔥🔥🔥You got subbed bro... You killed that...I'm good with it my dude...That' s my all time favorite beat to a rap and I've been around since the start...But that beat...its so unique. Thank you!
Wow man you really got some skills in recreating those hip hop songs, I subbed immediately. And yes, you need to do more Premo stuff, much more if you ask me! And maybe do some 9th Wonder stuff, I know he is not from the 90's but still he has mad skills.
Ok just used iPhone to sample live (genius by the way.) inbox as to once crops are made the original stays in tact in order to get multiple chops etc. In the meantime ill watch and see if I can pick it up!
You're a genius. I dunno how i come here, but i subbed you. You got a lot of talent and this is a big inspiration since i will be starting to make beats on a Maschine when i get it soon. I couldn't help sing along "you wanna fuck whaaat, jump up and get buck" lol!
the drums sounded a little stiff. i used to work with an sp-1200, and we used to just set up the program into a 2 bar loop mode and play the drums by hand without quantize. this helps to create an organic groove. sometimes we'd do a one bar loop, and then double that, add some variation to the second bar, etc. but the backbone was created without quanitize. (yeah i said quan-i-tize!) try it
Deconstructs i'd like to see... LONS-Case of the PTA, Group Home-Superstar, EPMD-So What You Sayin, Souls of Mischief-93 Til Infinity and or anything from Illmatic. love your work bro! thanks for doing it!
I enjoyed this video. I'm thinking about getting into doing some music with either Reason software or FL Studio, formally fruity loops. Which would you recommend? I understand both to be good but FL Studio has free lifetime updates whereas you have to but the updates for Reason.

+NevEd What??? Why, isn't it nice when your favourite artist's fanbase are man and woman?
This was my joint!

I've debated that with myself all along... I am able to keep it short on most songs but for some I just can't help myself lol
Great vids...Only thing I can say to improve your vids is to shorten the beginning part a little bit maybe.
