just found one of my mix tapes from, I dunno, like 1986ish. and this song is on it.

That's probably from the Batongen compilation; The Young Gods had 3 tracks on that. That version predates the debut album though; this one is a re-recording for the "Envoyé" single.
Holy shit. And to think that my 12" of this is in another country in a milk crate.
