Right! I saw a stray begging for food once and after feeding it, I sat there for hours trying to figure out what to do, until I saw the mama that was watching me but never approached because she was scared. She ran when I came over but I put the baby and some food down and she ate and took it! Cuties. Now I take care of her and her kittens haha. She’s mothered almost all the strays in my neighborhood.
God bless you and all those who follow their hearts when it comes to animals. These animal’s whether they are dogs, cats, livestock, etc. did not ask to be domesticated. Humans domesticated them for different reasons. Therefore, we are obligated to care for them. God’s creatures were not put here to be neglected, abused or exploited. Every creature has a purpose. Good video.
Usually mines arrive with the first tempest of Autumn right around the 1rst of November for All Saints in an awful shape, usually full of pests, true squelettons and sometimes badly wounded. Each year we dread this moment thinking during all the rest of the year : "no more, the house is full" 😅 And actually it poses some real difficulties since the house and the garden are really small and cats are REALLY territorial creatures... but what can we do? Turning our attention the other way ?? Or throwing stones at them like some in the neighbourhood ?
@@debbieking3575 No, they couldn't have. If this happened to an adult cat then yes, absolutely. But kittens are obviously still growing, and having the bone broken so close to the joint would make the surgery orders of magnitude more difficult, because you can't attach nails through the joint without destroying the joint, and there's not enough bone left above the joint to run the nails through it. Then, as the cat keeps growing those nails, if they somehow magically found a way to put them there, would need to be replaced every few weeks to make sure the bones don't grow out of alignment, which is of course another hours long surgery every single time, until the cat has reached adulthood. And all of that still rides on the assumption that the bone marrow is healthy, and that the bones would actually fuse correctly again when re-attached. In summary: To restore the cat's leg to full functionality would have required divine intervention. Leaving the bone detached internally *would* lead to inflammation at least, possibly necrosis. The vet did the best they could, without divine intervention or a billionaire-funded crack team of super surgeons.
@@Beck585 its not possibility, i broke my hand and thats why i needed immediate surgery. if not sharp bones would cut the nerves and i would lose the sensation in my hands and kangrene and amputation. its just sad to see this baby was at the last phase.
The Random Cat Distribution Centre sent injured cat her way because they knew she had a good heart and would care and love for that lost little one.. We have a Vet in the UK called Noel Fitzpatrick aka The Bionic Vet, he's developed ways to save the broken limbs of animals rather than amputation. Its sad to see a little soul lose a limb so young, but she looks to be in the right home for a good life...
That must’ve been so painful to drag around and that kitten was using it to play. Good thing he found the right person that wanted to/was able to help him.
It is also wonderful what the exposure to an animal that will have special needs can do for a kid growing up. They will be directly involved without a word needing to be said, compassionate and mindful, helpful and kind. World needs as many of those as it can get!
😁 I don't think so. The beautiful big eyes on these soulful spaniel types sometimes show the whites when they look up at you. It can look scared. It may be that the older cat has warned the dog to keep distance from the kitten, but that will wear off in time.
Little Ginger Ale sure picked the right house to get into! So glad the older kitteh has taken her on as little sister -- they even look alike! Thanks so much for being kind to her and helping her heal in body and soul.
Brianna and this tiny kitten!! Thank You for helping this little bit with her broken leg!! She did the right thing!! Just TOO STINKING CUTE FOR WORDS!!
Yeah, I was surprised at that, too, at first. Then I looked at the x-ray again ... the fracture is right next to the joint, which makes it impossible to just put a plate and screws, to fixate it. It would probably have resulted in very limited capacity for that joint, and quite a lot of pain. In addition, this is a baby cat, she will grow rapidly and make monthly adjustments necessary. Not feasible. Fortunately cats and dogs will adapt to a missing limb in no time, especially if they lose the leg when they are still very young. The little sweetie will be perfectly fine, she is a house cat who doesn't need to fight for territory, or hunt.
Thank you for keeping ginger ale what a sweet name for that brave little kitten. She may have lost a leg but she has gained so much more thank you for caring for her❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yes, my cousins had a cat that they didn't treat the best. We got her, and a few weeks later, she started wandering the house more, Finally, after a few more days, she made it to the kitchen, the farthest place from her room in the house. Now she's she much happier. She follows me and my little sister around, always meows at the top of her lungs (non of the other cats do that and she is much smaller than the others while being 2 years old.) She jumps on our lap, sleeps belly up, jumps on the bed and snuggles up with mom. I love her so much, and I'm so happy she is happy and safe. Before, she wouldn't even let anyone pick her up, but now I have no problem. She even purrs, which makes me so happy.

When she said it needed surgery, I thought she meant reattachment of the bone, not amputation. Poor kitty.
I know the vets could have fixed. They didn't want to. That sucks.
Tripod kitty will be fine! That is exactly how we got another cat! Cat in our house brought a kitten in.

Sometimes broken limbs can't be repaired if they've been broken for too long because the other piece of bone dies from lack of proper blood flow.
