I totally agree! And Debussy's Passepied sounds as if he actually listened to this chiptune music and arranged it into piano, haha :D Also thanks Cateen for introducing this music in another UA-cam channel 厳選クラシックちゃんねる recently.
This is mind blowingly good. Passepied is one of my favourite Debussy pieces it's so thrilling, mysterious and as Wikipedia says 'strangely medieval'. This version makes me think of some future robotic alien race visits us in 1M years and finds out about music for the first time and this is their joyful rendition ❤
@@adampayton4695 it’s going alright. I have all but the last 2 pages memorized and am starting to learn those this week. I have only had this piece for a couple weeks but have to preform in a month 😬. Hbu?
@@lilgrimy6655 I'm performing it on the 28th of this month. It's not nearly as ready as I would like. I'm performing the whole suite and this is the most technically difficult movement so we will see how it goes. The last 2 pages are the easiest IMO. Would love to hear updates as it goes!
@@adampayton4695 Dang dude, the whole suite is no joke, I’m only doing this piece lol. Yeah the last 2 pages do seem pretty easy. IMO the hardest to learn was probably page 3. Good luck on your performance!
Very good! I always had the notion that Debussy sounds like 8-Bit NES music^^ In this case it is like a fast version of the Dragon Quest I overworld theme
Not only do I like the 8 bit cover but also the composer selection at the start, from left to right Sciabin, Debussy, Brahms, Handel/Bach idk, and schonberg
yes, Passepied is very similar to Dragon Quest I overworld theme...first 9 notes of melody are identical! Left hand is very similar accompaniment, and in general songs have very similar style. Unfortunately, DQ NES cartridge doesn't provide much space for musical development :(
@@rocudaal This theme from Dragon Quest 1 ua-cam.com/video/r9vJbdIUsdc/v-deo.html surprised the links between DQ Quests & classical music are hard to find on internet so far
@@axelriviere7605 Thanks man! After three years! Haha Well, I'm not a musician, so I can't say if what @Eric Fontaine is true or not. But certainly it sounds similar.
Best chiptune interpretation of classical music

I agree
A wild Claude appeared
-Claude used Impressionism
-It's super effective
-Oh! What is it ? Claude is evolving
What is a Claude?
*break a glass of wine*
A miserable little pile of composing. But enough of talk, compose me something!
Claude evolved into Debussyus!
This song is MADE for 8 bit
I hate to be that person but song means singing or vocal music.

Debussy would crack up so much if he heard this version of his passepied

:) There's also a cool version in Castlevania II for Gameboy.
Your 8-bit covers are head and shoulders above any other ones I've seen. This one is my favorite.
I think this is my favorite project of yours Brad. Such an unlikely but wonderfully treatment of such great source material.
I still need to finish (secret) bonus tracks and make a real cartridge version someday.
@@Sakanakao very into this
Brad. This. Is. Purrfect. I keep coming back for more.
I don’t know why, but that part at 2:01 is magical
Sounds like undertale
Was looking for a good recording of this as I practiced, and found an absolute Diamond in the Rough!!!

I am particularly in love with compositions that acknowledge the nes/famicom limitations at that time
Wow. It's flawless! Awesome job, Brad. Can't wait for the release of Lizard! Keep up the great work!
Best thing ever. Wonderful.

Obviously the version here is the full deal though.
It has such a full and sweet resonance that I can't picture hearing from an actual NES game. :)
Cateen introduced this video in his interview. This video is so cool!
this song was actually used for the Title Screen of Golf Grand Slam (by: Atlus)
FYI
Bravo. This is quite good.
This is fantastic! Love it so much.
Yes, very appropriate arrangement
Quite a great work dude!!!!!
omg i love this!
I certainly enjoy this, sir.
I need this for my ringtone and alarm
É tão bonitinho ❤ sinto como se conhecesse essa música a muitos anos graças ao efeito NES hehe :3
why is the passapied so good?
Amazing.
@cxc190 Yep. There's some Bach on that soundtrack too.

@andr0neee Cool! I never knew about that one. Thanks.
I can't believe what i am discovering. +1 sub
BEST DEBUSSY PIECE. Thank god something that’s not Claire De Lune.

Ultimate 8-bitness: unlocked
I want to see if I can do the whole thing in one video.
"Choose Your Composer Screen" *subscribes*
This cover sounds like it would be a bonus level in Shovel Knight.
Was thinking the same thing, kaufer is just the new Debussy lmao
It's weird but I prefer this version over the original :o

Quite funny!
@xyz39808comments Yes indeed! (Slash hits Crono for 103 damage.)
Why is Scriabin the only guy who's name is in Russian? (at least i'm assuming its Scriabin)
U really should do a rachmaninoff one!!!!!!!!!
He's the only Russian.
The one in Castlevania II Belmont's Revenge is better
Castlevania used a part of passepied. → watch?v=ngFy2d_clPE
