First Look: Trijicon RMR HD & RCR

- Trijicon has unveiled the RMR HD red-dot optic. A next-gen offering for traditional RMR customers - military, law enforcement, prepared citizens - it may be more useful to think of this product as a ruggedized SRO, Trijicon’s competition-oriented pistol sight. Like the SRO, the RMR HD is characterized by its large lens, forward-extended housing and top-loading CR2032 battery compartment. It also offers new electronics including a front-facing light sensor for automatic illumination adjustment, large side buttons, and the ability to switch between a dot reticle or a segmented-circle-and-dot array. Also launched was the enclosed-emitter Ruggedized Closed Reflex, or RCR, red dot, still adhering to the RMR footprint and distinct from competitors for its use of capstan-style screws. I love the idea that the whole glass will be usable on both of these. When I realized that 1/3 of the glass is wasted on the rmr it explains why it seems to have such a small window despite being only SLIGHTLY smaller top to bottom than the dpp. I have a love/hate relationship with both the rmr and the Leupold dpp. I am hoping the rmr hd will be the go to on my main/favorite pistol because it seems like it takes the best of both of those and combines it.
Love the idea of both of these. The RCR really intrigues me from a professional point of view. Could see that on my duty pistol!
The statement @7:47 isn't totally correct. The RCR will mount to ALMOST any slide that will except an RMR. Except for those with Bosses for the screws like those offered by Brownells.

Joe: I have a Shadow Systems XR920 Elite and interested in the RMR HD. Does the RMR HD deck height allow a co-witness on your XR920?
And why not the reticle options of the RMR-HD for the RCR??? Now that would be a game changer, until then I'll stick with the 509T and not to mention at 1/2 the price...
Stick to your Chinese made optic then. Of course slave labor made stuff is cheaper. 🤦♂️
