@@VolodyaTheFroge not really. That just shows that you're not playing league. Most people are getting so addicted they don't quit for literal decades (couldn't be me) Regardless of how many times I reach challenger I get 400lp inting dogs that ruin the whole day. And as much as riots are targetting ranked as being the only queue accessible, specifically swaying people away from playing anything other than soloq it's just literally not fun.
Wish more people understood that 'burnout' is a real thing even in video games. Nice to see positive content of how to enjoy gaming, and avoid bad head space.
I am a rather new player (2020-2021) and league ironically became a sort of comfort game for me. I just head into the normal, play what I like to play the way I wanna play and am happy. But even with that, I feel like I couldnt focus on this game alone. League lacks things, and switching it our with other stuff really helps keeping it fun. Intersecting League also helps keeping the other games fun. It really keeps me from going into a "gaming isnt fun anymore" episode. - As you said ULTRAKILL is the best shooter ever made, and It really hits that feeling a mechanical outplay gives you. - Stardew Valley and Terraria are games I can play ad infinitum - Limbus Company and its prequels are games I could just gush several hours about with how much they mean to me Since playing League I learned a lot. About the game, about the ugly sides of a few friends, but also about me and my frustration tolerances. I genuinely got more chill, and ARAM has turned into my go-to "i just wanna game something with the boys" game. The comment got a bit chaotic, but basically I appreciate the game for what I can take from it. Some might say I dont play it right, but if it aint fun... why bother?
Took a 3 month break and I’m having some fun with the game again. Might play more ranked as well next season with the feats stuff since I like playing assassins, among other classes.
Ive played in prime league (the german semipro-league) nonstop between 2021 and 2023, and on a high division at that. At some point i just got SO burnt out and frustrated of it all that i even started lashing out at my teammates - which i NEVER do. i started playing there thinking i wouldnt achieve anything and when i actually DID, i didnt even notice i started caring more about winning than having fun. defaulted to always playing top-of-the-meta champs and practicing even when i wasnt in the mood. then, late last year, i took a break. for half a year i didnt touch league at all, and after that ive only been playing normals with friends here and there - even playing really weird offmeta stuff. What i want to say is, its easy to forget to have fun. If you are just grinding ranked for recognition or something, dont. People are gonna say "congrats" and thats like a few seconds of payoff to a grind that took you potentially hundreds of hours. Do not forget to have fun, it is a game afterall. If any of my ex-primeleague-teammates read this, i am very sorry for how i acted in the final split we played together.
I have been playing League for 6 years, on and off. Most of my time played, i played with friends, but due to circunstancies with them, i have found myself playing alone for probably the first time in 6 years. It may be the fact that i have been "detoxed" from league for over a year, it may be the peace of hearing my favorite songs while playing a game, but i am truly having fun playing the game. Yes, there are moments in which i found myself angry, but they don't last alot; the whacky interactions, the rewarding feeling of making a good play, i feel above league. And i'm having fun because of it.
This, this is why I love the community that I am now apart of. League doesn't need to be what "everyone" might categorises it as, it just need to be a game.
I love league! After a long session I never ever think "Oh I had a bad time" Even when I have a bad time I still try my best to have fun. I play to win yes, but winning can be boring too, and losing can be fun as hell. I play off meta picks (Singed and Shen jungle, TF adc, Shen and a lot of others support), thats what I enjoy doing, weird things! Love the vids cryo keep it up, you are singlehandedly making me love league more and more with each video.
getting my ass kicked by Manamune Kasadin was one of the best things to happen for my league experience, thank you for showing the fun of truly offmeta
Yesterday because of this video I finally got around to playing an off meta Ive been dying to work on for months now, and not only was It super fun, it ended being quite practical, ty a lot for the videos Cryo, not for the content, but for the fun and the laughs.
One of the things that stings most about quitting League is that I'm not motivated to watch your content as much anymore either, because this is exactly the type of videos that not just the LoL, but also the *gaming* community as a whole needs. Sure, I've taken long breaks from the game before, but I never missed it *while* being entirely demotivated to play it for almost a year. I never compared this game to drugs or alchohol, I was genuinely passionate about it once. I *do* hope that passion returns some day.
I feel you man, really Especially the mute everyone part - I don't understand how people can play an online game and at the same time refuse to communicate, effectivly deleting the whole "online" part And they don't just do it for themselfs, so many people actively advice others to cut all possible ties with their "noob team", like bro...
I recently got back into league and muting the chat has made this current phase of playing league by far the most fun I've had with the game. It helps that I've also been inproving recently in both mechanics and mindset, playing primarily for fun but also taking the game relatively seriously enough to play well, though not to the point of feeling like shit if I don't win. If I'm on a losing streak and get tilted, I remind myself that it's a game and that games are supposed to be fun, even competitive games, so if that can't be had right now, it's best to walk away for a bit and do something else.
League is fun! Based take. I still play league, I still have fun with it. The worst thing is usually other people condemning me for it. Like what the fuck, dude?
As toxic as the community can be, it can also be super cool to be a part of. I cosplay and through that and through league it allowed me to meet some of the coolest people I know and go to some really cool events. Like, I was able to see the premiere for season 2 of arcane and took photos with Ambessa and had fortiche take photos of me and my friends. It’s really cool what can come of the positivity that does exist.
I would argue that I’m one of the few that actually enjoys most of not all facets of the game and I still have yet to master the mindset of treating this game like tf2, which is a point I hope to get to eventually
This will be my second year of playing League and it is still a lot of fun. Yet there are definitely times I get really mad and whatnot but then I get games where I do great and games where we are losing but we still have fun and enjoy the vibes with friends. Its reputation does exist and at times is warranted but maybe because I’m new and not jaded from playing League for 5-10+ years. Some people really need help.
Oh man, you speak out of my soul! Senna top here. Off-Meta! Just like you I like to come up with MY OWN stuff. Having some ppl arround just makes it more fun
i stopped playing league actively about 1-2 years ago. i play the ocasional flex with friends or an aram. but i gave up trying to stay up to date with the game. following the patch notes and knowing metas n shit. And im really happy with that. its just a game now, and not a nessacity that i have to put hours in just to play with friends.
The other day I was playing a game of Yorick mid and I got fed. After lane swapping with my GP top I just farmed with the enemy Tahm while telling them to take heart steel stacks when it was up. When our aggro focused allies showed up we would fight. But when we were alone we were right back to farm and chill. Sometimes it just takes the right mental to just really have fun with the game and when it's fun boy is the game fun.
Honestly what ruins my fun of the game nowadays, besides toxic teammates, is the balancing. I don't play particularly good champions, i play a champ because i like them not because they are strong or anything, and as a consequence i have around 720 wins to 810 losses, i only play normal. Now i don't mind losing a good game, but that just doesn't happen anymore, it's always a complete massacre for one team or the other, the matchmaking is completely out of whack. It's always all of the lanes on one side winning all at the same time, they don't even try to hide the manipulations on the matchmaking, or how it is now called, losers queue. One team is meant to lose every time, and while that is not always what happens, it is 90% of the time or more. I think toxicity is just the result of how helpless games feel, if you give just an inch to the enemy team, the game is over. Maybe not impossible to come back but that made things much much harder and then people become tilted and there is no coming back from that. The game need to be less snowbally, riot says they want to make it happen but every year the game is more and more snowbally, they are not even trying.
I genuinely enjoy the game. I've played it for 7 years and anytime I got frustrated, I played something else. I've kept a love for this game and lost friendships and partners over it. My friends keep "caving" and playing League again but I'm always there, waiting to queue up with them.
I understand that you ARE unlikely to meet the same player again, but recently I've had a great weight lifted off my shoulders, got a lissandra that fed people to oblivion, next game he was the enemy mid, most satisfying win in a long while I've had
>next season is going to have different quick play mechanics The fun is on. But excelent video, I agree with you and hope you have more fun next season.
For me the fun in league is to play with friends, ranked or not, frankly I don't care. Also I am definitely interested in the Thresh hybrid build. You're a chef with experience on the matter so the meal should be worth the wait. I've more or less always stuck to "tank" Thresh as a support main (mostly cause bruiser / crit items are too expensive for support and I've never been a fan of squishy ad or ap assassins) but a hybrid build... that sounds interesting. Especially since it could set the groundwork for so many new hybrid builds like hybrid tank ap or even tank ad ap. (that might actually be a little too far XD) (oh yeah also I wouldn't mind an Ultrakill vid. It's such a great game.)
I agree, that the game is fun, as I have returned to it recently after meeting some new people to play with. My Main roles are support (Thresh / Sona) and Jungle (Hecarim / Rek'Sai) and after playing the game again, I've realized it offers an experience only few other games can provide. Toxic mates aside, I feel the community has been getting better, mostly due to Riots updates to the communication systems and general UI/Gameplay improvements. League, in my opinion, is a game of extremes in a lot of ways, you may get the best teams in a game or four babies with handgrenades, but the same goes for you aswell. You may be someone's Faker or someone's walking coffin and I think this is the part many players fail to see that about themselves. Remember, you are not better or worse than someone else, just because you are performing well/awful in one game. Speaking from experience : I've had games playing Thresh where I've missed 10-20 hooks and a row, but I kept going and saw an opportunity for a game-winning hook. Hitting that one hook and enabling your team to finish the game is one of the best feelings gaming can provide and I think these moments are the core of what makes League such a fun game to play. On the other hand, missing and losing a game due to your mistakes can be demoralizing, but keeping a level head will pay out in the long run.
Dude same, I still have a blast playing the game. Whether in running around unkillable as my Galio Support, making my team unkillable with Locket Seraphine, or kidnapping people with Kench, there is so much goofy ass stuff to have fun with in this game. My biggest complaint is how much Riot seems to gut any of the weird, slightly off meta builds i enjoyed. Hybrid AP/Tank shyvanna, Ingenious Hunter Poppy and Sion, AP Kench, PTA Evenshroud Pantheon. So many funky builds just dont exist anymore. It's sad, but that just means i get to find some new cheese.
If Thresh was reworked to an aatrox level of change, I will become a Fortnite streamer. Since there were two weab games: First one is a gacha game called "Zenless Zone Zero". I know nothing about it I just wanted generic gacha footage. Some viewers like it, tho. The second VN one is a rhythm game called Project SEKAI.
@@CryoBeat Where is ZZZ? I just miss it? I see PSO2, Ultrakill, two games in suggestion, MHW(my fav game) and... and it's all? I maybe missed it somewhere :c
Its funny for me to see this video when I'm actually thinking about making a return to League. I'm also a League boomer who's been playing since 2011 and I've taken my fair share of breaks over the years. I think League is a tremendously fun game and always have. It strikes me as bizarre when I see people continuing to play this game when they say it isn't enjoyable or it isn't fun or all they do is complain about this or that. There's so many other games out there you could play. I started my most recent break in February of this year when I was starting to feel the burnout of the game and I realized I wanted to play other games. I've pretty much spent the whole year playing single-player experiences but I'm just itching to get back at the rift. Pretty much everything you said in this video rings true to me. As somebody who pretty much only plays Garen and other zero/low mobility top lane juggernauts, I love trying to find ways to make my champion pool work in the hyper-mobile game that League's become. Also love making weird off meta things work. Last season (2023) I was a big enjoyer of Rell toplane (before and after her mini-rework). I played it in Platinum/Emerald and made it work! No idea if it will work these days but that kind of stuff is what makes League fun. Carving your own path. If the game stops being fun, just stop playing it. Simple as.
Once i just started focusing on my own gameplay and not worrying too much about wins or losses, it got a lot more relaxing. And this is high Master low GM (although i main Ornn and Cho, so that helps)
Amazing video! I took a 3 year break from league, because in my opinion if you reach a point in any game that you say "whats the point of this" get out. Now i am enjoying the game playing a playstyle that i never did before and i am trying to win against my anxiety playing ranked! One thing to be playing ranked vs normals, in normals it doesnt matter how much you play, you dont feel nothing changing, the range of players there is too random or either you WIN the game with no issues or you got hard, in ranked, you feel that all 10 of you are in a closer level, so makes improving easier. And like our fellow thresh enjoyer, fun first :D.
Been playing league since 2014 and got damn I can't leave cause I just love the mechanics and I've gotten so much better since the start and I love the gold nuggets I find on the bridge or rift! I sure do miss the old ways but CHANGE IS GOOD 🥴
Only thing I've been playing is ARAM and Arena when they enable it. I haven't had fun in a normal game in many, many seasons. Still enjoy watching others playing normals though, specially troll picks like Alistar top and your take on Thresh
when you actually quit league , the only thing you realize how not worth it was , there are soo many games out there that can provide atleast as much if not more fun than best moments in league ever had , not even gonna get into how shitty of a company riot is , its just not worth it
I'd like to focus on the "off meta" part of the video. I love off meta stuff. Feels like a way to challenge myself, without half the pressure of an actual challenge! I've done it in other games like Destiny 2 and what I call my "meme-bow" build, and now I found myself having a great time in League playing none other, than tank/bruiser Kha'zix top! It's like, you're not supposed to win, but when you do, it's hilarious! If you don't, you weren't supposed to anyway. It keeps me sharp, I do NOT wanna int and the objective is to prove to everyone in that game that it's (somewhat) viable. My advice to anyone that wants to go off meta is to do it with something you're comfortable with. Don't go playing AP thresh without knowing how to play thresh, don't play kha'zix top without knowing how to play kha'zix. The key is theory crafting on something you're already familiar with, building something that in theory makes sense, learning the practical curves that come with it and tweaking it to improve it along the way.
League is fun because it is difficult, and doing something difficult well is gratifying. People forget that tis is a very competitive game, and they just want to play suboptimally and somehow still win. That's just not how a competitive game works, and if you find it too competitive then the game is not for you
I only got into league 2 years ago, spent the past 18months not playing it and came back to it about a month and a bit ago playing wacky off meta AP gragas. But now im enjoying limbing playing as chogath (because chogath is fun and for cool attractive people such as myself).... also cryo , you should play limbuscompany
As a Thresh mid ranked player, yea it can be really frustrating, so when I get a frustrating game I just go and play something else, do something else, I can lash back wich gets me chat restricted, but when I get a game that is FUN, I enjoy it, league its a game with a LOT of things you cannot control and despite that, the game can STILL click, and I feel thats a really nice thing Riot was able to do. I still wouldnt reccomend the game to people, because despite being a meme, most of the stuff is absolutely true, smurfs lashing on new players on unranked and the learning curve asking you to be really high to begin with because most people have information that on the first seasons they didnt had, most concepts that have been cinceled and the meta formed, makes getting into the game without any help a chore and frustrating, the game is fun? Yea, it can be, would I reccomend it to play solo? hell nah
I'm glad I never got into games not being fun. Playing ranked to grind and not having fun with it has always been an absurd notion. If I was ever not having fun playing league of Legends I'd play a different game because I'm a sentient free thinking person capable of removing myself from environments I'm not enjoying and not being forced to stay in
League is my drug, I have dropped the game several times, but I Always Come Back (to the game) Somehow it’s always enjoyable playing support and not giving a shit what people say because who’s gonna get mad at Supp players??
as far as things to play when taking a break from league, i can't recommend dota 2 enough for people still looking to scratch that moba itch it's a very similar game that is nonetheless very _different_ to play. even stuff like basic unit control can feel incredibly clunky if you're used to league's instant turnarounds, cast times that are nigh-universally 0.25s or flat-out immediate, and no matter how bad you think it is to get last hits with karthus's autos, you do not know true pain until you try to do the same with lina's _0.65s attack windup_ and 900 projectile speed. there's also a _significant_ amount of point-and-click disables and not a lot of mobility to play around 'em, _unless_ you're playing a hero with a 1200 range blink on a 6 second cooldown or one that can point-and-click disable an enemy with a _global charge,_ which are just things that you have to play around if the enemy team picks 'em and you're stuck waddling around the map as someone like sniper or drow. it's also shaved off a fair few of its rough edges ( yes, none of these are considered "rough edges" ) so even if you've heard about stuff like supports still having to buy wards or all heroes having to keep an inventory slot open for tp scrolls, well, stuff like that's no longer the case with stuff like 0 cost observer wards ( and both types of wards stacking into a single inventory slot ) and a dedicated inventory slot for tps that you also get for free on death ... though you still have to remember to grab them from the shop, or else an extended sequence of successfully not dying can result in you finding yourself without the ability to tp to a part of the map where you're urgently needed all of this combines into a _very_ different experience from league despite it being so familiar in a lot of other ways, and that's what makes it so good as something to try out: playing dota can really help you figure out _what_ about league you find fun. maybe you'll find that everything you want out of a moba is right there in dota, and you'll finally boot league out of your life. but chances are ... that's _probably_ not going to happen if you've stuck with league for any significant amount of time, for the simple reason that that's really hard to do if a game isn't doing _something_ right. maybe it's the ethos of how champions control, or the way their kits are designs, or the more passive role items play, or the fact that you can always have flash to make plays or get you out of a bad situation, or the more structured game flow, or even just how it feels to last hit minions. there's a lot of specifics that contribute to the exact experience of playing league, and there's no better way to figure out _which_ you care most about 'til you can feel their absence in something very similar, but nonetheless very _different_ and hell, maybe you end up also liking dota for its own merits and work it into your library as something to play when you're not feeling league. or maybe you end up preferring the solo experience of dota but still have a blast playing league with a friend or four. they've managed to stand tall as distinct titans despite their shared dna for _years_ for good reason, and there's no shame in playing both when you can get some very different things out of each
what saves league for me is ARAM, ive been around for a while now, almost 11years i guess, and im a pretentious player, i think i would have a LOT more fun on ranked games if i were GM or something, but i dont wanna grind ranks, gold through diamond are the real 21st century trenches, so i just play ARAM for the fun of trying to make a random comp work with the picks we got and how i could best build around the situation, also playing hiper aggresive ARAM is sooooo much fun, you have about 50 skills to dodge everytime and about 9 pandora boxes to play around, everytime i catch myself getting a bit too stressed i try to remember its just an ARAM and im trying to have fun, spamming taunts and emotes are usually more affective tho lol
i very much agree, game is genuenly fun but most people play for the LP and stop having fun in the process. i have some friends that strictly play ranked and not normals because "they dont see the point". i just think thats stupid, im not gonna sacrifice my fun for the sake of my rank, im playing a game after all
Hot take: MECHANICALLY, League is fantastic game. I haven't been playing it for the past month or so (not because of taking a break, but because of PC problems), but when I was... I genuinely was not feeling "powercreep" or "balance issues". May it be because I play good champions, such as Urgot? Yeah, but I also play utter trash (competitive-wise) such as Aphelios and Azir. So, honestly... hot take, but I enjoy this game a lot.
I'm gonna be honest, you gave me a new point of view about league, I hated it for a while and stopped playing it for 2 years now, but maybe it was unjustified. Not going back any time soon but it's definetly not my last option. In the same note, have you tried Supervive? If I'm not mistaken it was created by some OG league devs and it looks kinda fun.
The people complaining about the game now, were not the same people around in season 3 when lee and shyvana were unkillable gods, imo the game used to be 10x more frustrating, you can win through more means now as well
The most fun I had playing league was either playing with full pre-made team and doing absolute goof or playing tank quinn in aram. So yeah, either change people you play with from randoms to pre-made or do some goofy ahh builds
YES HYBRID THRESHHHH I run Tank Hybrid sometimes, basically mimicking the Tahm Kench AP build but slipping in Titanic or Overlords for some AD. Or I just build an abomination knock off Shyvana build wiht Shojin and some AP items
Me: starts to talk about Portuguese food at 3 am in aram with a random Twitch on my team after losing the game: " BLA BLA BLA food choke on it " by the end of the game ofc Riot didn't ban him.
Or just stop playing cause the match making is real shit, and it's on purpose. Tenscent is like TikTok, requested by the PCC to drive the west youth crazy, so it's planned by AI, drive you addicted, and frustrate you as much as possible.
They do this through unfair champs mechanics (new champs op, your main as an OTP getting in D tier garbage (from C tier) for no reason), through unfair matchmaking (getting SVP 8 times in a row, putting you with leavers and bot and just stupid people who can't play), through unfair champion picks (8 rerolls in ARAM, 13 AP champs, no tank, welcome to auto lose draft statistically, it's 2^13, should happen once evey 8192 games, well I see it like once a month).
I think the toxicity goes far beyond the chat. I've wanted to try and climb using Rell top super off meta, but I always turn back because i start thinking there's a great chance I get banned when I just want to have fun and see how far I can go with a extremely weird pick That's pretty much why i don't play anymore
I must say I've never had a punishment for playing even the most stupid of off meta. As far as I know, it doesn't go against the rules and isn't a bannable offense. It only is if you be toxic in game about it. As far as I know and have experienced, anyway.
League is fun. I started playing LoL around S2. Since S4 I play almost exclusively Thresh non-support. I only play with friends, we only play rankeds and arams with deranged strats and dumb "mandatory" rules. I usually end up splits around high gold, low plat. I still think that rito should remove/rework most of new champions. Playing with randoms suck. For every fun teammate you get few assholes who either spent most of the game arguing over meaningless shit or they significantly increase dificulty slider of the match (happens less in higher ranks tbh) I still think that a lot of ballance, map and item changes are work of completely deranged lunatics trying to make game less fun as a result.
I enjoy league because i dont care balance all that much, the mute button exist, and i dont care about monitization because i dont need skins, and i dont have to spend money on it i still have problems a lot of the time with matches and stuff, but i still enjoy the game for the most part I play weird off meta stuff, or just fun stacking champs and that type of thing so i play for fun, and thats how you have fun plus, idrc about when people are toxic, i just hate hearing the pings all game cause its so distracting lol
If I ever get to the point where the last 10 seconds of a game (i.e. which nexus gets destroyed) is dictating my enjoyment, I'll know something is wrong
The common take is that league is unfun for a variety of reasons. But this is a take that many just don't have the time to elaborate why it's not fun, even tho they kept going back. For me personally, I quit playing league and only actively watches content on youtube, yours included. League was fun, it probably still is. I have hundreds of euros sank into it for a reason, but I cannot agree with you that league's unfun factors outweight the fun part. I'm like you, I loved off meta picks, I was literally too blind to read chat to even see toxic flaming, I didn't care that much if I lost or won, I cared more if my strategy was worked at least once. But you can't expect the average league player, hell, average human being to play this piece of feces to keep a sane mental for too long when the game is inherently competitive and 50% of the games are bount be lost. Most people care about end results, humans feel losses 10x more than wins, and the half of the games lost feel much worse than the 10 games you won. Again, I'm just like you, but I have my very personal reasons to quit league, Vanguard was just the last straw on the back and now I'm happy that I'm not playing it anymore looking at the horrendous gacha slowly getting shoved in lol. I rambled for too long for a comment and probably didn't elaborate why I don't really agree on why it isn't fun. Tldr, too much bad ourweights good, not everybody can have a good mentality to ignore the toxic side of things, years of baggage for long term players, etc.
League is fun. Not on pc tho. Games nowadays take far too long, overcomplicated and powercreep items/champions dont help, community is highly toxic (still not as bad as in dota 2 tho, not by a long shot), screwed balancing and so on. Wild rift on the other hand. Its incredibly simple to the point where it feels relaxing and a breath of fresh air. Champions are much more expressive and have more personalities that playing with them is fun and you actively wish to play more. The events are decently long and not an utter chore to complete, rewards are great. Matches are just pleasantly long. Champions are fairly balanced, both skill and rolewise. Gold earning is much simpler and better so the matches are much more of a balanced and epic tug of war and so on.
raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah ultrakill mentioned Also, I use the following to determine if I should play a game of league: - do I have friends I enjoy playing with currently online - am I actually playing well today - am I in a good mental state because god knows league can make a bad day worse
Really I’m not sure what makes the game fun for me. I guess I just have a love for some characters that drive me (yorick because I just love summoning and necromancy in any game I play) I feel like if it wasn’t for him I probably wouldn’t play league at all
Look don't get me wrong. I hate this game... like a lot... but I can't escape it. It scratches that one part of my brain that no other game will ever satisfy. No matter how mad this game makes me I always find myself coming back to it. If I have to mute the chats and pings then so be it but I need something to scratch the MOBA itch that simply hardly any other games will ever do...
5:05 How dare you, sir. You don't make a video about fun and then show content about a game that doesn't make that kind of good fun gameplay anymore. I miss the good ol' base PSO2, Phaleg (at least Pre-Hero) was actually one of the most fun I had in PSO2 and Shiva was actually pretty fun with a few challenges! Also, League IS fun, though at this point I have given up on it as well, ever since they've started to release those "luxury skins", my tipping point being the "Faker Ahri" skin. Seeing that it actually did well and encouraged Riot to not only make more of them but shove a new gacha system in your throat has all but deterred me from ever touching this game again, even if they did almost grab me back with the Survivors-like game mode. League is fun. League can be incredibly fun, in fact, as you show it throughout this video. But the fact that you have to go through so many problems just to find the "potential" to have fun these days, not even counting the stupid decisions that Riot makes every single passing week... It's rough. I'm ultimately glad that I stopped there, and while I'm not coming back, I'll at least support the people who are still jaile-- errr... enjoying the game.
off meta = fun, until ur picks gets nerfed thanks to other things and dont get buffed, kled mid (nerfed cause aatrox), sej full ap mid (nerf cause ap champs), kayn top (nerf thanks mostly because sion passive interaction with prowlers claw, because why stop the use of items in passive if u can remove it). But let the rno hands and statcheck champions yone, yasuo, riven, malph, etc, be op for 5 years already because 1 item powerspike is the stupidest shit ever. The moment this champs where nerf because changes to items they buff them inmediately, specially the windshitter brothers.
League is fun. The people are not.
Also, I main Yorick, so I can't really make arguments as to what is fun and what is not.
yorick mains rise up (until maiden gets picked off and you dont get to play the game for your ult cooldown duration)
league is not fun and you are missing out on a lot if you play it
@@ayberesen767 How does league of lego's make you miss out on things?
@ayberesen767 fun is subjective, and you can still play other games without dropping league.
@@VolodyaTheFroge not really. That just shows that you're not playing league. Most people are getting so addicted they don't quit for literal decades (couldn't be me)
Regardless of how many times I reach challenger I get 400lp inting dogs that ruin the whole day. And as much as riots are targetting ranked as being the only queue accessible, specifically swaying people away from playing anything other than soloq it's just literally not fun.
Wish more people understood that 'burnout' is a real thing even in video games. Nice to see positive content of how to enjoy gaming, and avoid bad head space.
i feel the same, the game is nice, i played it for years, and i see people talking shit that looks like a "u problem" all the time
dog same they KILLED MY BABY THEY KILLED AURELION SOL WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE GOD DRAGON OF THE UNIOVERSE VOMITS AS A ATTACK NOW
He's still playable but the pain after rework remains for me. Also, Skarner used to be my 3rd most played...
@rokuslakar6731 skarner is my 2nd my 3 was and still yorick

And they killed Viktor too... literally
- Stardew Valley and Terraria are games I can play ad infinitum
- Limbus Company and its prequels are games I could just gush several hours about with how much they mean to me
Since playing League I learned a lot.
ARAM retiree with friends here - thanks for keeping the light on
This, this is why I love the community that I am now apart of.
Ultrakill and Mechabellum mentioned. S tier games
Based and scuttlepilled. I've been thinking about this a lot lately and you've put a lot of what's been on my mind into words 🔥🔥
I feel you man, really
Especially the mute everyone part - I don't understand how people can play an online game and at the same time refuse to communicate, effectivly deleting the whole "online" part
And they don't just do it for themselfs, so many people actively advice others to cut all possible ties with their "noob team", like bro...
This video is the video i was looking for for a year, thank you
This will be my second year of playing League and it is still a lot of fun.
A lot of people forget that League is video game lol.
i stopped playing league actively about 1-2 years ago. i play the ocasional flex with friends or an aram. but i gave up trying to stay up to date with the game. following the patch notes and knowing metas n shit.
I understand that you ARE unlikely to meet the same player again, but recently I've had a great weight lifted off my shoulders, got a lissandra that fed people to oblivion, next game he was the enemy mid, most satisfying win in a long while I've had
>next season is going to have different quick play mechanics
The fun is on.
(that might actually be a little too far XD)
(oh yeah also I wouldn't mind an Ultrakill vid.
Nononono wait, what was that weeb game you showed???
Also... What will you do when Riot inevitably reworks Thresh into a different beast all together
If Thresh was reworked to an aatrox level of change, I will become a Fortnite streamer.
Since there were two weab games:
First one is a gacha game called "Zenless Zone Zero". I know nothing about it I just wanted generic gacha footage. Some viewers like it, tho.
The second VN one is a rhythm game called Project SEKAI.
They won't rework it that is unreasonable.

W takes
Dude some of the most fun i have had while gaming is the 5 man arams when under the influence.
Still enjoy watching others playing normals though, specially troll picks like Alistar top and your take on Thresh
when you actually quit league , the only thing you realize how not worth it was , there are soo many games out there that can provide atleast as much if not more fun than best moments in league ever had , not even gonna get into how shitty of a company riot is , its just not worth it
This right here.
Idk if anyone has ever said this but the format of these videos and the way you speak remind me of a PvZ UA-camr who gives the same vibe
If I was ever not having fun playing league of Legends I'd play a different game because I'm a sentient free thinking person capable of removing myself from environments I'm not enjoying and not being forced to stay in
League is my drug, I have dropped the game several times, but I Always Come Back (to the game)
Somehow it’s always enjoyable playing support and not giving a shit what people say because who’s gonna get mad at Supp players??
you have any guide of tresh mid or top, looks reeally funny
as far as things to play when taking a break from league, i can't recommend dota 2 enough for people still looking to scratch that moba itch
it's a very similar game that is nonetheless very _different_ to play. even stuff like basic unit control can feel incredibly clunky if you're used to league's instant turnarounds, cast times that are nigh-universally 0.25s or flat-out immediate, and no matter how bad you think it is to get last hits with karthus's autos, you do not know true pain until you try to do the same with lina's _0.65s attack windup_ and 900 projectile speed. there's also a _significant_ amount of point-and-click disables and not a lot of mobility to play around 'em, _unless_ you're playing a hero with a 1200 range blink on a 6 second cooldown or one that can point-and-click disable an enemy with a _global charge,_ which are just things that you have to play around if the enemy team picks 'em and you're stuck waddling around the map as someone like sniper or drow. it's also shaved off a fair few of its rough edges ( yes, none of these are considered "rough edges" ) so even if you've heard about stuff like supports still having to buy wards or all heroes having to keep an inventory slot open for tp scrolls, well, stuff like that's no longer the case with stuff like 0 cost observer wards ( and both types of wards stacking into a single inventory slot ) and a dedicated inventory slot for tps that you also get for free on death ... though you still have to remember to grab them from the shop, or else an extended sequence of successfully not dying can result in you finding yourself without the ability to tp to a part of the map where you're urgently needed
all of this combines into a _very_ different experience from league despite it being so familiar in a lot of other ways, and that's what makes it so good as something to try out: playing dota can really help you figure out _what_ about league you find fun. maybe you'll find that everything you want out of a moba is right there in dota, and you'll finally boot league out of your life. but chances are ... that's _probably_ not going to happen if you've stuck with league for any significant amount of time, for the simple reason that that's really hard to do if a game isn't doing _something_ right. maybe it's the ethos of how champions control, or the way their kits are designs, or the more passive role items play, or the fact that you can always have flash to make plays or get you out of a bad situation, or the more structured game flow, or even just how it feels to last hit minions. there's a lot of specifics that contribute to the exact experience of playing league, and there's no better way to figure out _which_ you care most about 'til you can feel their absence in something very similar, but nonetheless very _different_
and hell, maybe you end up also liking dota for its own merits and work it into your library as something to play when you're not feeling league. or maybe you end up preferring the solo experience of dota but still have a blast playing league with a friend or four. they've managed to stand tall as distinct titans despite their shared dna for _years_ for good reason, and there's no shame in playing both when you can get some very different things out of each
Personally, I love playing aram to mathematically correct sett top, turning my brain off and stacking heartsteel before doing big funny w.
what saves league for me is ARAM, ive been around for a while now, almost 11years i guess, and im a pretentious player, i think i would have a LOT more fun on ranked games if i were GM or something, but i dont wanna grind ranks, gold through diamond are the real 21st century trenches, so i just play ARAM for the fun of trying to make a random comp work with the picks we got and how i could best build around the situation, also playing hiper aggresive ARAM is sooooo much fun, you have about 50 skills to dodge everytime and about 9 pandora boxes to play around, everytime i catch myself getting a bit too stressed i try to remember its just an ARAM and im trying to have fun, spamming taunts and emotes are usually more affective tho lol
i very much agree, game is genuenly fun but most people play for the LP and stop having fun in the process. i have some friends that strictly play ranked and not normals because "they dont see the point". i just think thats stupid, im not gonna sacrifice my fun for the sake of my rank, im playing a game after all
My fun in league comes in playing toplane Shen with my friends or solo aram, anything else feels top tryhard or stressful to be fun for me
Hot take: MECHANICALLY, League is fantastic game.
The people complaining about the game now, were not the same people around in season 3 when lee and shyvana were unkillable gods, imo the game used to be 10x more frustrating, you can win through more means now as well
This man likes ultrakill, so i like this man.
What was the tactical game he mentioned in the suggestions section? I can not hear him well enough to understand.
Mechabellum (CC subtitles are available on these vids)
The most fun I had playing league was either playing with full pre-made team and doing absolute goof or playing tank quinn in aram. So yeah, either change people you play with from randoms to pre-made or do some goofy ahh builds
I think Leauge might keep him Hostage to post this
League was fun back in S6, possibly the best.
What game was in the “power fantasy rpg” clip?
that pso2 clip hits me hard
YES HYBRID THRESHHHH
I run Tank Hybrid sometimes, basically mimicking the Tahm Kench AP build but slipping in Titanic or Overlords for some AD.
Or I just build an abomination knock off Shyvana build wiht Shojin and some AP items
League and FUN are words that have a similar relationship with COD and FUN, just remember Tmal and how he plays Call of Duty.
Me: starts to talk about Portuguese food at 3 am in aram with a random
Twitch on my team after losing the game: " BLA BLA BLA food choke on it " by the end of the game ofc
Riot didn't ban him.
/mute all is the secret to happiness
I've wanted to try and climb using Rell top super off meta, but I always turn back because i start thinking there's a great chance I get banned when I just want to have fun and see how far I can go with a extremely weird pick
That's pretty much why i don't play anymore
I must say I've never had a punishment for playing even the most stupid of off meta. As far as I know, it doesn't go against the rules and isn't a bannable offense. It only is if you be toxic in game about it.
As far as I know and have experienced, anyway.
@CryoBeat Well, I might try to play for a bit (if the client wants to collaborate)
Nevermind, I totally forgot that vanguard is a thing
for such a pick i dont thing getting banned should be your concern, i have a feeling some people would just throw the game once they see you pick it
As a singed otp I love liandrys
I used to like playing vs AI games, the champs are fun to play. Hwei was nice especially when it was released. Just stopped cause vanguard..
Is that a chilling smite reference
League is fun.
I started playing LoL around S2. Since S4 I play almost exclusively Thresh non-support.
I only play with friends, we only play rankeds and arams with deranged strats and dumb "mandatory" rules. I usually end up splits around high gold, low plat.
I still think that rito should remove/rework most of new champions.
Playing with randoms suck. For every fun teammate you get few assholes who either spent most of the game arguing over meaningless shit or they significantly increase dificulty slider of the match (happens less in higher ranks tbh)
I still think that a lot of ballance, map and item changes are work of completely deranged lunatics trying to make game less fun as a result.
I enjoy league because i dont care balance all that much, the mute button exist, and i dont care about monitization because i dont need skins, and i dont have to spend money on it
i still have problems a lot of the time with matches and stuff, but i still enjoy the game for the most part
I play weird off meta stuff, or just fun stacking champs and that type of thing
so i play for fun, and thats how you have fun
plus, idrc about when people are toxic, i just hate hearing the pings all game cause its so distracting lol
If I ever get to the point where the last 10 seconds of a game (i.e. which nexus gets destroyed) is dictating my enjoyment, I'll know something is wrong
Cryo! Give me the hybrid thresh build, and my life.. is yours!
Soon.
The only way to have fun playing league is by doing ap malphite, rock solid.
I wish i knew when i'm able to fight and not get fucked cuz i don't do dmg while my enemy slaps me 5 times and i die
i watch this after 8 games lose streak
I love league of legends, ill play it with friends always tho
Try playing Qiyana for one game, we"ll see just how fun that is
AP Qiyana is on the way
raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah ultrakill mentioned
Also, I use the following to determine if I should play a game of league:
- do I have friends I enjoy playing with currently online
- am I actually playing well today
- am I in a good mental state because god knows league can make a bad day worse
Thresh main more like Thrash main, I'm Blitz main and Thresh is my archenemy.
My goat
Really I’m not sure what makes the game fun for me. I guess I just have a love for some characters that drive me (yorick because I just love summoning and necromancy in any game I play)
I feel like if it wasn’t for him I probably wouldn’t play league at all
Look don't get me wrong.
I will not fall for thine lies deceiver.
I love league, I think it's hella fun. Why is that a hot take? Why are y'all playing if you don't like it?
Yes
This is was actually just pep talk for yourself, huh 😏

off meta = fun, until ur picks gets nerfed thanks to other things and dont get buffed, kled mid (nerfed cause aatrox), sej full ap mid (nerf cause ap champs), kayn top (nerf thanks mostly because sion passive interaction with prowlers claw, because why stop the use of items in passive if u can remove it). But let the rno hands and statcheck champions yone, yasuo, riven, malph, etc, be op for 5 years already because 1 item powerspike is the stupidest shit ever. The moment this champs where nerf because changes to items they buff them inmediately, specially the windshitter brothers.
11:00 this just shows how long you havent played ranked lol there's no gold 5 anymore and you dont need to hit gold for victorious skins anymore
