I’m Chaldean/Assyrian (indigenous Christian Iraqi) and my native language is Aramaic. Hearing Johnathon pray the Our Father in Aramaic was absolutely beautiful. May God continue to bless Jonathon and continue to guide him in portraying Jesus in this magnificent series! 🙏

I am not a catholic but i still will pray for you. I went through a similar situation. Was seperated from my husband for almost 2 years. My marriage was falling apart. But i held on tight to God. After a lot of struggle God restored our marriage like never before!

I'm syriac orthodox. His accent is not great, and I believe he cut it short, but I'm proud of him for trying and for introducing this to the rest of the western world. Every christian needs to know the lord's prayer in Aramaic because it's beautiful.
I’m Scottish and I’m learning this too. My accent will not be great either, it’s a lilting accent but I know the Lord will understand and perhaps even be a little amused, for I see him as a gentle, kind patient Lord with his flock.

I learnt the Our Father in Aramaic just before my visit to Holyland in Nov 2019...and I said it at The Place called Pater Noster in Israel where Jesus gave the Our Father to his disciples...

Yes is true, but when you pray it in Jesus tongue it connected you to him through time, because God lives off of time, he is greater than time. Praying it in arameic will unite him to you when he praying this special prayer on the mountain and that is alot of graces.
How many folks here can agree that it is now quite difficult to read the gospel texts without hearing Jonathan's voice and picturing him and the other actors as their respective apostles in their mind's eye? Perfect casting.

Jonathan did a great job playing Jesus, but he should not be what you see as you read the bible, it would be the same as idolatry. He is not Jesus but somehow who portrayed Jesus my dear brother or sister.
There's just something about hearing that prayer in the language that Jesus would've spoken. Brings us that much closer to such an intimate, passionate and powerful moment in His life. And The Chosen does the same with the impact Jesus had on people's lives. Through the deep, tangible and personable relationships he had. To the compassion, grace and truth he displayed. Wrapped up in absolutely approachable humanity we longed to be near.

I believe the dead sea scrolls are in Aramaic as well, could also be wrong here, but the point I really want to make is that Jesus said the gospel would be preached throughout the whole earth and there are thousands of languages. I think that Jonathan making that tiny mispronounciation at the end makes it even better, so we're reminded through Jonathan that we should be humble in our fallibleness, but courageous and joyful when trying to get to Jesus as close as we possibly can.
Like: "God, I'm far from perfect, but here's my everything, for you".
Also, something cool about The Chosen is that it doesn't just give good fruit with the episodes of the show, but with the whole process of the production, and the lives of the people involved that come together into a whole "macro-story" for everyone's growth. It's getting to a point that production and people become as important and beautiful as the actual show.

As far as the choosen they were kicked out of the known Churches my friend or else this whole world would be transformed. Indeed. I felt the same. Jonathan litlle "mistake", serves to show that he is Human. He, although an INCREDIBLY convincing actor, he is not perfect. He is not Jesus, and they do everything they can to not make people mistake the Real Jesus.
