that Monza reminds me of christmas morning...my first "real" bmx bike was the mongoose expert, felt awesome when I woke up christmas morning and that bike was in front of the tree. I think it's the colors on the graphics remind me of it. been wanting one for a while
Did you even consider brands like Kink, Subrosa, Sunday or Colony? They make really good bikes with modern technology. It’s not always about colorways and colabs.
I really like the Throne collabs and also the Supercross 29. Last year I built a Haro DMC 29 before Haro released the fully built version. I’m sure I paid more, but I am so happy with my build and it definitely looks better than the factory build. I totally agree that the geometry is tough to wheelie, but I made some major breakthroughs by the end of 2023. Good episode. Ride on!
My top 3 would be 1.Monza, 2.Race Inc 3. Om flyer. Not into the bike life types. I prefer retro bikes which look like my 80's bikes. My dream build would be a cromo black supercross with a black and gold colorway. I always seem to miss the 26 ones though, I seem to spot them once they are sold out. Waiting on the sx450 26 cro-mo. Maybe you could post a video when they drop?
Someone is selling that multi-color GT 26 performer in the San Francisco Craig’s list for $500. It looks in pretty good condition. It was posted 5/19 I’m sure someone can work a deal with them.
My top five bikes that I have is: number 1 black 29 inch Dyno witch I love since its the bigger bike I had when I was a kid. Number 2. 26 chrome Monza number 3 would be GT street performer. Number 4 would be SE OM duro 5. Last would be the Red Crew because of the price.
The green Throne with the placa and the hundred plus spoke wheels is solid marketing and it will bring the pinstripe guys with lowrider roots into the bmx bike show scene. Whether that is a good thing, I dont know. Im a nostalgia guy and nobody was doing engraving or House of Color sparkling candy paintjobs in the 80's.
My 80s powder coat story: Spend a week sanding it raw as good as a 13 year old can. Go to powder coat shop. “What color do you want?” Me: Bright pink! Two weeks later my light pastel pink frame was ready. Like a light pink Easter egg. So, I wholeheartedly agree with you on the 80s stuff. I do hope to make more friends if the thrones bring in new fans, but I’m not a show bike guy🤷♂️
Can't go wrong with the OM Flyer. I sold my 1st one back in the 80's to upgrade to a CBR cruiser. Loop stays are the best passive suspension made. Plus, what I remember most about Race inc in the 80's was broken frames. They were cool and light, but weak. Builders now obviously have a better understanding of how to make proper aluminum frames.
Se uses to much aluminum, imo, im not riding anything bigger than a 26, most these new bikes are trash! They don't even chrome anything no more for real
Very few brands are offering chrome anymore. S&M even announced no more chrome because of regulations. If chrome is your thing, I'd buy as much as you can now, because chrome will become harder and harder to find. Thanks for watching!
GT Performer 26 ugly colorway! Race Inc lame dropouts! Monza 26 great bike....lame grips. Hoping for better colorways from GT and SE next year. I do want a GT Perf and SE OM but waiting for kool color. So sick of pink purple neon baby blue rainbow yellow brown etc...what is wrong with these manufacturers? Such ugly colorways.
I get it. I loved the bright 80s GTs. So that colorway hits for me. I think GT would do well honoring their roots and do some white, blue, or Eddie Fiola yellow. That would hit the other group of nostalgic riders who remember GT. What they’re doing now just isn’t resonating.

It really has a classic vibe
I like the 29” Gt pro series with the rear disk. My daughter has a 24” pro series gray and red it’s a great bike
This was amazing! Thanks for making it!
This one was sick!! Good job guys. I also loved the Fairdale Taj Vans collab, and the SE Killer Quad, which is a BEAUTY!!
I really want that new AMX 29. Do you have an update on when they might hit the website?

I just ordered a Sunday High C for my first 29er!
And they've only been in the game a couple decades
Yo boyz! Great episode! Nice Black Sheep reference Isaac! I also had the ODI signature grips. Wilkerson & Blyther. Ride on! 👍👍👍
Respect your guys choices but the Kink Drifter in the Wolf Grey is one I think needs a nod!
a lot of bike for the price!

Great idea, way too long of a podcast…
Yeah, 1.5 hours is ridiculous 🤦♂️
