- Taurus Tracker 44 "Compared to S&W M69" The Taurus Tracker 44 is a five shot .44 Magnum revolver that has four ports on each side of the barrel to reduce recoil. Check out how it compares to the S&W Model 69 Combat Magnum and let us know which one you would choose.
Good presentation! Very thorough
I'm a Taurus fan, and recently picked up a Model 327 snubbie. The S&W version of a .327 Federal Magnum snubbie is twice the price. In this case, however, I'd spend the extra $300 for the S&W. Actually, I would very likely buy both, if I wanted a .44 Magnum. 🤪
That's a great way to look at it Marvin!
I've been wanting one for a while now. Taurus makes pretty good guns, especially for the price.
Dan once again thanks for the awesome video I only love the Smith & Wesson combat Magnum as I said to you before on this channel I'm a real gun kind of guy the pushing 70 old habits die hard
Smith all day, but I own a few Taurus revolvers and very happy with them.
revolver are awesome. thanks for review and compare. smith and wesson are my go it for wheel guns
Ok Taurus... Bring us an updated .44 Mag. with a six round cylinder, ports, a tritium front sight, fitted refined trigger... aka the Executive Line... that would be amazing and one I would be very interested in.
That would be a great update I agree!
Thanks Dan👍👍
i like taurus 44 tracker.
Very nice!
The ports make the gun louder and reduce muzzle rise and recoil. The same holds for the rifle. Shotguns on the other hand don't benefit as much because they are lower pressure rounds.
My son in law who lived in Alaska had a Taurus 44. It went back to the factory 3 times because it kept going out of time. He replaced it with a Ruger Alaskan in 44.
Guess this is where I’ll reveal myself to be a *slight* bit of a bargain hunter (I hate to say cheapskate lol). I struggle a bit to justify a $900-1000+ price tag for a revolver. I know the machining & manufacturing costs are much higher than a polymer semi-auto, but I still gravitate towards Taurus & Charter Arms as my preferred revolver brands. I really do like the look of that full underlug on the Taurus as well. As for the ported barrels, I think some guys just don’t like getting their shiny polished stainless steel revolvers fouled up & dirty after shooting them lol. Great video, Dan!
I always like your video. You show guns I like, but won't buy. Have two safes full. No room for any more.
The model 69 has more refinement with a reinforced barrel thread forcing cone and the X-frame triple lock ball bearing upgrade.
Tracker is good my friend Jerry has one ,he let me try it out it’s decent for the cost ! Not everyone has smith money after the sloppy Jo years ! The finish and trig are better on the smith if you plan on passing it down to a family member get the smith ,if not and ya wanna save a few bucks get the tracker
Thanks Jay
The tracker is excellent, I had it, but my hands are large and when I fired it the trigger guard hurt my middle finger with every shot, I traded it for the Taurus raging Hunter, the hunter is better for large hands.
unless Columbus has changed the requirements recently both are too short for hunting here Dan you need a 5 inch barrel for deer!! it'd make a good hog gun though!! the ones i've talked too that say they don't like ports all say they find the flash distracting!! personally i want port chambers big enough to get a pipe cleaner into!!
👍👍
Taurus sucks
To each his own
I have 2 of them and they are great
