This is a perfect beater range gun. One thing I like that I haven't heard on any reviews is the finger cutout on the trigger guard. I wish taurus would do this on the 92. Hope you do a range video on this one. Visually the PT straight grip is more appealing, but to me the grooved grip on the 917 functions quite a bit better. Thanks for the review
What a nice looking gun! Gonna leave a 917c brochure in my wifes nightstand. Maybe she'll get it for me on Father's Day. By the way, you sound like another UA-camr who's videos I've watched, don't recall his name.
I had one of these about 15 years ago. Decent shooter, not like competition accurate, but I did a qualification class with it. It's a variant of a Beretta Centurion with the safety on the frame (one of the good features this has over the Beretta) and the one I had was an all steel tank. The pic rail on mine was a bit off though, as accessories wouldn't ever clamp correctly and were prone to flying off under recoil. I ended up sending it to a friend for a wedding present, who promptly traded it off for another weapon.
These are the best 92 “clones” being they use Beretta tooling from their old Brazilian contract down there. The only Taurus guns I like or would carry.
TY! 4 gud vid!! My youngest daughter has PT92( ya cant pry it from her hands!!) It's a little too "gaudy" 4 me. I like the "groovy" grips & vertical lines. Gonna chek one out @ G.S. this week. Who knows whattle happen.
I had PT92C and loved it. I got rid of it since I could not find spare parts and magazines. The mags that I found were over 50.00. It made no sense to keep it.
Hey Dan, I had few questions I was hoping you might be able to help me with. How does this 917c compare to the Centurion? Are there any steel frame 92 compact/centurions out there? And why hasnt anyone made a more modern hybrid 92 yet? Steel slide, steel frame and poly grip like the 2011's. Thanks
I see one thing that Taurus has done wrong for shooters like me. The front of the grip that is the finger groves look like that they are angled for right handed shooters only. I shoot with both hands
There are some that work, but you have to make new magazine catch cuts. The Beretta mags have different release positions. I had one before. That was my only issue, I had plenty of mags to convert, but no pt92 mags except 2 that came with it.
Fun fact Taurus's actually bought the Bretta factory in brazil this is how they acquired the rights to this firearm. Technically, it's not a clone. It's the real deal, just buy a different company. This is the same way that Taurus's has so many Revolvers, that seem to be copies of Smith and Wesson, but they really aren't cause Taurus and smith and weston were owned by the same company at the same time and worked on all those revolvers together
Very cool pistol always reminds me of "lethal Weapon" nd Riggs!!!
love my pt92 made in 1988 s/ steel mint!

Arnt you the Firearms guy in the other Channel !
Great video!!!
I enjoyed my beretta compact 92 with thin 8shot frame back in the day!!!
👍👍 Thanks Dan
Thank you sir. Nice gun. I prefer these da/sa decocker models.
Voice sounds familiar. You have a new Channel? Cool!! I was interested in this pistol. Good Video
Like the Centurion model , or Commander length ❤
That's ok... I take a Beretta... Thank you very much.

GOT YOU BEAT HAD IT 35 years ago when they called it PT92 from TAURUS and it was only $250
Yay for Dan !!!!!
Any plans to bring out the nickel plated one?
That's probably the best gun Taurus makes
Probably, but I love my th9
Tracker in 357.is a beast, reliable, and shoots true. ❤
thank you dan this is nice

Good showing , Thanks .
Looks good

"Hey there friends"
It’s got a frame mounted safety/decocker n you can carry it cocked n locked , I think
Quite a bit of dirt on your finger after disassembly. Did you fire that gun, or did it come from the factory that way?

Beretta 92 Compact clone. That was first centerfire handgun I ever shot.
I see one thing that Taurus has done wrong for shooters like me. The front of the grip that is the finger groves look like that they are angled for right handed shooters only. I shoot with both hands
That gun is "undestructible"
You change channels?
I sold my Berretta in 91 i think and got a Taurus Pt92c. Any compatibility between them?
👍👍
Oh my. I might have to get a new firearm
Yes sir Robby
Do the 92 mags work in the 917c?
There are some that work, but you have to make new magazine catch cuts. The Beretta mags have different release positions. I had one before. That was my only issue, I had plenty of mags to convert, but no pt92 mags except 2 that came with it.
PT-92 mags and complete slide work just fine n the PT-917c.
I which Taurus would start to make their 92 with dovetailed front sights.
The Gen1 PT917c had dovetailed front sights, but unfortunately I believe it also had the integral key lock.
👍
good luck finding one....i mean us folks that have to pay for stuff , oh ya that big C means COMPACT....🙄
Is this the firearms guy?
I think so it sound like him 🤔 maybe it's a back up channel? That's got to be him nobody sounds like he does.😅
@ he’s a legend on my UA-camr list. I’ve been watching his videos for years.
Yes it is dan
PT92 Centurion would've been better name

You can't tell people the logical truth ….. they prefer to buy into the lies, and always bitching.
They will be sued by Beretta soon.
Taurus makes semi-automatic pistols you cannot trust your life with. Some of the revolvers Taurus makes are okay.
Not all of them, don’t be a hater. I love my TH9.
I have owned this model for about fifteen years and have had no problem with it.
👍
